6 Yeah.

7 why do short weeks pack all of the stress of a regular week into 4 days?

8. Performance reviews are skewed to failure. It’s depressing.

9 …uh…

10. That whole 5G vaccine thing made my brain hurt. I’d start to explain but just ended up linking Wikipedia articles.

11. Kitten then proceeded to maul my hand.

12. Both. Both is good.

13 This aptly describes most of my friends. I might be the cinnamon roll of the group. Or maybe just a cinnamon bagel.

As far as bad influences go, that one is pretty mild.

#15 Real answer (for actual bacon, anyway) is to cook it in an oven instead of on a stovetop. Something about the heat coming from all sides instead of predominantly from underneath. I assume the same holds for Canadian "bacon", which in my experience more resembles sliced ham than actual bacon.

For Canadian bacon (salami, bologna, etc) I cut a slit in the center and it lies flatter

#14 She is wearing shoes. Based on the candle flame there is no wind. The moon is Waxing Crescent which is less than half illuminated. Not very magic at all.

Also, why tie up a tree, why put the book by her feet, why is the candle so low?

Do you have a fave Alton Brown pie recipe?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Super Apple Pie—the original crust goes with all things sweet. I know there’s been updates to the recipe on his blog.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ty! will go check that recipe out this weekend! idk, but you might enjoy thefooddictator.com. He's very different than Alton, he's more like "Tasting History with Max Miller" on youtube. I don't get the whole dictator thing but he just loves food, people, history and language, and he's got some wonderful recipes.

"I cast sleep" sleep is an amazing level 1 spell for dnd, it can end most level 1 encounters in a turn or two and there is no save for it.

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

My DMs always throw such high hp enemies at us that sleep doesn't work

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah in 5e I find it disappointing. By comparison I was able to completely end a horde encounter with it in Pathfinder 1.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It doesn't scale well which means it loses its effectiveness after level 1

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wowzee, I just looked it up. No save, and it's not even concentration. Cast it, have the fighters coup-de-grace the victims, cast again if needed or move on if not. It doesn't have any limits on hostile vs friendly creatures, but you could cast it safely enough with a party member in the area and just wake them up manually. Of course, the no save means it won't work with the Careful Spell metamagic option, but there's other neat options, like Subtle Spell. Awkward conversation? Instant Sleep!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The downside is it scales pretty bad, by level 3 there are much better spells to use. Against a bunch of goblins or a random spellcaster it works great.

In Cody’s campaign that’s all I did for, like, 15 sessions (as appropriate). I joked that my specialty was supposed to be necromancy, not narcolepsy.

I played a divination wizard with sleep. I did very little damage but I crippled mobs in every encounter we faced. Sleep casters, make the BBEG fail his save against crown of madness, etc.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Right on! As long as we get XP for the encounter, we’re good!
