It's a small shop in south Sweden. The municipality of Malmö. Malmö is the third biggest town in Sweden with almost 350000 people living here. And even though it is in the north of Europe, we rearly have snow. This pic is from Monday.

Our logo or coat of arms. It's a teapot over two branches of tea.

The hardest part about keeping the shop is the constant cleaning, dusting and straightning of stuff on the shelfs.

We keep over 200 different types of tea in stock. And also we keep a shit load of tea pots in stock.

...and tea cups and mugs. These mugs in particular have a matching siv and a lid.

My dad buys our stock. Some times I don't think he knows what he is doing at all.
But then again, who doesn't like a tea pot in a bright color?

A couple of years back he bought a shit load of porcelain with the art work of Picasso printed on. I like it and so does my dad but we seem to be the only ones in town who do.

Just some more tea pots and mugs.

We also carry some Danish design. There is great rivalry between the Swedes and the Danes. How ever we sell a lot of this "Royal Copenhagen" tea stuff to old ladies from all countries.

Here we have tea pots inspired by the old Chinese ships called "Junk". They are made out of clay. I really like them.

My dad tends to by anything with flowers on. I don't know if it's our middle eastern roots or his age.....

Here you have a Chinese "kung fu cha" set. It is essential to the Chinese tea ceremony.

Sometimes it feels like the store is too cluttered. I think I will de-clutter once my dad retires for real.

The name of the store is "Pappas". I opened the shop in 2002 and soon after I changed it's name to get my dad on board. "Pappas" means fathers or dads.

Just a nother gift set with a tea pot and some tea cups.

These are cool. They are made of clay but have a glazed finish and look a lite like snake skin

We sell a lot of these glas tea pots. People tend to want to see the color of their tea I guess.

Also these are popular. Simple traditional white English tea pots

Oh yea. Just some of the tea. Rooibos in the red tea cans, green tea in the green and black tea in the black cans.
Herbals are in silver or glas, like the ones on my table there.

Let's not forget the tetsubin tea pots. Japanese cast iron tea pots.

And the smal Chinese hand made clay pots. My dad collects these.

So many different types of tea pots...

And tea cups and mugs

We have been ruining it since 2002. My dad does the day to day and I manage the website and such. But lately the old man has been feeling....old I guess. I have had the privilege to help him out here and there but now the time is coming to take over the daily grind and I must confess I am a bit overwhelmed. But I will sip my tea and deal with it.

FP edit: I dont know how to do proper FP edits...

Here he is, the tea master himself. Holding my daughters stuffed giraff for her. I wish I will grow up to be just like him.

Your shop is beautiful and amazing. I wish there was one like it near my home. Please keep things going, it's good to see in the world.

I would be a more than regular customer if I was local. We have nothing that even comes close in Knoxville, TN.

@Op, can we see the website!? I’d love to check it out!

Do you have an online store?

My mom's been there! Absolutely loved the selection, would have also bought mugs if she hadn't already filled her house with mugs and cups.

This is the shop me and my partner buy our tea. We enjoy coming here and usually buy their lovely organic gun powder green tea.

This is by far one of the loveliest shops ... ever and the sweetest family-ish post I have ever liked. Thank you from Winnipeg .

You know, I had no idea that it would be so popular when i posted it this morning. I thought it would die in usersub like most things do.

I've been here! Several times! My family loves your place! So nice to see this here. Ska in imorgon och köpa nåt gott.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

@op how often do people break stuff?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Almost never. Like a handful of times over the 16 years we've had the shop.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Jag har letat efter en bra tekanna, ser här att ni har de jag vill ha.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes.... for a small cost + shipping. ;)

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I know a Swede (One of my best friends), but i need to say it. Vikings. Drinking tea.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Önskar jag kunde upvote:a tre gånger. En gång för Malmö (!), en gång för te (!!) och en gång för din far. Ska nog titta förbi i helgen. :)

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Du är så välkommen så!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tittade förbi och sa hej till din far, och köpte lite te. Härlig butik, med imponerande urval av koppar. Skoj!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Definitely want to live there, the most beautifull part of Sweden is around Malmö. This year we are traveling trough Sweden to the Nordkap

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No it isn't, it smells like Denmark

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Denmark smells like bacon. And I LOOOOOOOVE bacon. #truestory

stuff so close to the edges is horrifying

I’m never more nervous than when I slide around my local overstocked delightful tearoom. I fear my enthusiasm will elicit a bullish moment.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Small world! I've purchased some green gunpowder tea from you before and it was great. Greetings from Lund :)

This is an adorable post! What is your favorite tea? What is your favorite tea cup? I drink lapsong soochong, and I have my grandmother's te

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

a reading cup! Thanks for the post!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It depends. I go through periods of time when I only drink pure traditional teas and then again I go through times when I drink flavored tea

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Right now I have found an organic Rwandan OP that reminds me of the tea I drank as a child. And I like larger tea mugs.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Tea deserves a mug. So when you get it to the perfect gulpable temperature you have a vast quantity to reward your patience.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i have potistanki, chinese mugs, tutsaban, such a great experience, tea is.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

“We have been ruining it since 2002” what? OP check your description :)

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

It made me laugh. XD

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

15 years of ruining and it still exists

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This made me laugh but then I realized it’s probably a typo.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Oh... .NOW i see it. No. We have been running it, not ruining it.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I don't get it. What description? https://www.pappaste.se/om-oss.html

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

To ruin = förstöra, running is what you mean

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Not on the page. The description to image #24.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Running not Ruining cause Ruining something is to ruin it lol ...damn me is smart nice job though

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I've been looking for a nice tea shop in southern Sweden! Definitely going to pay you a visit some day

8 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 1

Seriously though, you guys have a lovely shop. I too love the "snakeskin" coloured pot =)

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They stand on this keep war thingy that doesn't hold a tea candle but instead runs on ethanol. I prefer the tea lights/ candles.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is why I love Imgur.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because we all despise Dick Van Dyke's cockney accent, right? Right...? ...Guys?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dude I've been in your shop a few times. I used to live in Malmö :)

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Awesome. Why did you leave?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I worked in Lund and wanted to live closer to work. Now I live in Lund and have started studying in Malmö *facepalm*

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Aaaand THATS why people need a cup of tea....

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

haha, yeah :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why does it snow so little? Is it sunny often?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. No snow. No sun. Lots and lots of gray, wind, and rain.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some winters there's a lot of snow, but usually not. This is the southern tip of Sweden. Further north they get more.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Quick question, do you have an online store, and do you ship to the USA?

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I'm looking into international shipping, but no, we have not had any demand for that up until this post blew up on Imgur.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Who knew that you would become an international pot dealer?

Best fucking character

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Kinda uninteresting to me. Same personality through the entire show. I believe pretty much all of the main cast was more interesting.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

That's cuz he already had his story arc. He'd been around the block and learned how things really worked.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

TIL "Pappas" means fathers or dads. No way I would have gotten that on my own.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

It's the possesive form, so "dad's", as in "dad's tea shop". The plural is "pappor".

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It can also mean cardboard cadaver

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nope, that is papper.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pappas som i papp-as, cardboard cadaver, tack o hej

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love a good cuppa. You get spoiled with soft Scottish water and realise how much water quality affects the flavour. Rooiboos, white for me

8 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 1

Vanilla red rooibos is my favorite

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that a typo, or do you refer to Rooibos tea as Rooiboos in Scotland?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Typooo soorry

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My mum is English. First thing we did when we bought a new house was install a $7000 water filtration and softening system, all so that her

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

tea would taste right! She's so picky about the water she only drinks coffee when we go out, because the tea will taste wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was really surprised by the difference it makes, especially as I never take tea with milk. $7,000 for a perfect drink and a happy mum.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And a happy mum makes a happy home!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Jag får besöka din butik nästa gång jag är i malmö

Nästan så man blir sugen på att byta ut sitt kaffeberoende!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Du ska nog klara av ett teberoende parallellt med kaffeberoendet.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rekommenderas! Går alltid till Pappas när det behöver fyllas på där hemma.
