The next generation isn't hopeless

Today is a good day for science

So eesha invented it in 2013, its 2017 now and i didnt hear anything about it. Am i missing something here?

what about the bunch of girls that made a generator that can run on piss?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah and no one talks about the kid who built a nuclear reactor.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And here I am 21 still living with my parents.....

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Without reading, I thought this was gonna be some satirical thing

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Kelvin got it pretty easy when someone throwing away radio broadcasting equipment

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

At 25% light of the weakest battery one, that flashlight isn't practical. Notice how she invented it in 2013 and you still can't buy one.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She basically just put peltier tiles on a tube with LEDs and won a Google science fair, she was young and cute, so the media picked it up.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We just need to take Azza Faiad's invention, strap it to a ship, and sail around the pacific garbage patch.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Anya looks like she could secretly be 30

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I call bullshit on 7 out of 8.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A lot of that reminds me of the "oh so efficient solar tree" though...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Those teens are conveniently diverse

9 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 9

Ah yes, because only white people should invent things

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Just need a little crippled lesbian one and this will be a smash hit on Tumblr

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 8

Fuckn liberal agenda

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 12

I said the same thing

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Yeah they're from all over the world

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Shut up you cis white man! Am I doing this right? I'm a cis white man, so I assume I fucked it up...

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 15

These guys are the real MVPs

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

But when will they invent the *Fleshlight powered entirely by hand heat?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Eesha spends waaaay to much time on snapchat or whateverthefuck drains her battery.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I read upper left as "flesh-light " and was really confused.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Sad thing is I could see it working

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I made an online pizza order. So I got that going for me.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Pizza is the key to success now you go forth and eat :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All of these inventions are reinvented alien technology lost in time after the aliens left

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I vacuumed

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You did more than me

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What kind of biofuel?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That phone battery charger one, I always thought once we get cars charging faster make them all electric and have electric gas stations

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

charging batteries fast isn't necessarily a good thing. There kinda like humans, if they go fast, they die fast

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Big issue is energy density, not charging. Gas goes 14x farther than batteries do. We need more charge per battery, not faster charge speed.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And this is why we need to secure education for third world countries. Who knows how many potential cures for cancers have died to starvatio

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Or Cancer xD

It's Kelvin*. He seems... pretty cool

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

He's 0K in my books

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Damn

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He's a dj too. Taught himself engineering sauce: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelvin_Doe

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What does engineering sauce taste like?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know but they go well with chips and you're best taking small bytes

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does said rapid charger damage the battery's usable lifetime in any way?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This post is not correct. She invented a new super-capacitor that degrades slower than other similar ones, not a phone charger.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wikipedia says her supercapacitor says it would last for more charging cycles. So lifetime would actually be higher once it is scaled up/

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(1/?) First one is useless, it generates almost no power compared to other sources. The second one is cool, but won't be used anytime soon.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Third one doesn't actually work (yet), fourth one doesn't seem legit (only one puff article online), fifth one doesn't do anything.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6th is actually cool but you can't buy it yet. 7th sounds interesting but nothing came of it. 8th anyone could do (I've done it myself.)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The next generation isn't hopeless, but my life being seen as successful sure is.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 3

The only person who can disappoint you is you. If you make someone happy or feel lived you're a success :)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Loved sorry

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Wow did you get that out of a hallmark card? What a low fucking bar you've set.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

com'on Ann and Eesha - work together and make a phone charger that charges using hand heat

9 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 3

Hand heat? It would be much warmer if you stick it up your... nevermind, that's a bad idea...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoelectric_cooling Nothing special or new, she just plugged one into a lightbulb.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And esha came up with a new capacitor which is really cool but only in concept could charge a phone, she just showed it with an LED light

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ann did make one sorta. She built a coffee cup that uses the heat from your coffee to charge your phone. She showed it off on Jimmy Fallon.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This is actually a feasible idea! Rough estimate, you'd need to hold onto it for a month

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

That's what most teens do

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*while it's turned off.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not if your hands are 500°.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Look at fancy pants who knows how to find the degree symbol...show off.;)

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm only a 32°.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Even one that would be able to at least charge the phone to 5% after 10 min would be nice for emergency calls.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I completely agree with you! Law of Conservation of Energy does not.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Haha, guess we have to invent super energy efficient phones for that to happen. But with the battery hogs of today's phones your right.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I weren't busy tonight I'd actually calculate how long it would take. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDKCzwe6xCw

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The fuck you talking about "not completely hopeless"? The new generation is smarter and more technologically competent than ever before(1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 7

(2/2)They're going to make all of us look like dumb asses.

9 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 4

I feel like a dumbass right now! These kids are smart

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uh, dude, I totally made a gun out of a stick. Well, found, not made...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The average person of any generation is fucked if something they own breaks. Computer goes down? They can't fix it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Technologically competent, maybe yes. But not smarter.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 21

Increases in IQ, rate of innovation, and overall education rates would suggest that you're just blowing smoke out of your ass

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

innovators are largely not teenagers and IQ tests aren't really an indicator of intelligence, but I agree with the core of your point

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Your choice of language speaks volumes.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

People can be rude and right at the same time

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Wasn't rude for me. I just feel pitty for him.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Where the one that invented that digital clock/bomb?

9 years ago | Likes 404 Dislikes 13

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

He didn't invent it even a teacher who he turned it into said it was just a clock with the wires glues to a suitcase all he did nothing

9 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 7

He assembled it.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

Disassembled*

Wow. Thats almost as dark as the color of your moms vagina.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Man I remember when half of imgur jumped on the bandwagon of defending the kid before the whole story got released.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

What was the whole story? Just read Wikipedia and didn't see anything he did wrong

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

My point was everyone was defending him because he "just made a clock" until they found out what is was purposely made to look like.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

if I remember right the first teacher he showed it to was like alright but you don't need to go flashing it around the school to everyone

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

And then he went around showing it to a lot of people which caused the big issue.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Kids dad likely encouraged him to do it so he could sue the shit out of the school.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

He tried to do something similar with his daughter too, but no success.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Source? Cause outside of some Fox News 'theories' I didn't find anything. I didn't search that much though. Wikipedia had nothing either.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

You mean the fact they fucked off back home and are still trying to stir the pot?
