I don’t want to go to Kansas anymore. Not even if I was in the wizard of oz.

"Taliban say the bill protects kids, but Kabul allows child marriage, kids to carry guns, and allows clergy to protect child abusers"

I, for one, am looking forward to watching a bunch of little old ladies try to learn how to use urinals for the first time.

I don't want to go to the SE anymore and parts of the Midwest. It's like people are electing people so stupid I wouldn't trust them to run a Burger King and they are elected to make laws.

I shall never cross the border into Kansas, merely on general principle. It's like a foreign country with it's lack of normal human rights. What have they done with the USA & the constitution?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

v I’d stay the hell away from Kansas

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Listen to me very carefully: if you ever manage to get a bill together in any of these states that prevents mentally ill people from buying guns, the Republicans will vote in favour of it, then define mentally ill as being LGBTQ+

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well they better use the correct restroom then,

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's never really been about protecting kids. Not once.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Possibly Unpopular Opinion: I personally would like to see ONLY those persons that this bill considers to be women, be allowed to vote on all matters regarding abortion. If you *yourself* cannot gestate a fetus, you don't get to have ANY power to control what others may or may not do with theirs. (You can have an *opinion*, and a *voice*, sure. Just not a *vote*.)

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately, while that might be a nice idea in theory, it certainly falls apart in practice: What happens if an abortion-related issue reaches the Supreme Court? Would all the male and post-menopausal female Justices have to recuse themselves? Meaning the matter will be decided *solely* by Handmaid Amy Coney Barret? No F'in thank you.

The book titled "What's the Matter with Kansas" came out way too soon, it needs to be revised.

Link to bill plz?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yay christianity /s

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Bruh, no. Stop it. This shit is NOT Christian. Stop acting like religion is to blame for shitty behavior, the issue is purely misogyny and racism, which are types of hatred that abound across people of all nations and faiths (or lack of faith).

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Although I dont disagree, Christianity had emboldened a subset of society these days to be extra shitty people

Dorothy eventually ended up moving to Oz permanently and bringing her aunt and uncle with her. It's a far better place than Kansas. Even has a (debatably) trans queen!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Any woman who looks the least bit masculine, has a deep voice, or some facial hair is going to constantly have that rubbed in their face by angry conservatives every time they want to use a public restroom. Welcome to Hell, Kansas women, unless you look like Barbie. You a cis woman who's a tomboy? Have fun being harrassed.

Do what?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They don't mean "protect" like "keep from harm". They mean it like "secure exclusive access to an exploitable commodity or resource".

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're negotiating with crap wannabe terrorists and extremists.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

im super liberal. I'm so liberal I don't emotionally react to tweets. as of 7 hours after this is posted absolutely no comment provides context including people asking for it. googling "kansas anti trans bill" gets a few results none of which say much close to this. say shit that makes sense not propaganda.

/gallery/DoCapRx/comment/2332529545/1 quit jerking yourself off, it's not our fault you're blind

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

this doesn't at all say what the tweet says. even the person who posted it is questioning that it could be reasonably interpreted to mean what this tweet says. my god imgur use your fucking brains you look as fucking stupid as the fascists on /r/conservative.

Go sea lion somewhere else, I'm not interested in your bad faith shit

Sauce?

It's also one of four states where ANY possession of marijuana is illegal.

Any time a Republican tells you they're trying to protect a certain demographic, be it unborn fetuses, children, women, or veterans, they're about to do something unspeakably cruel to that demographic. Literally every single time, it never fails.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Well, they're always going to do SOMETHING cruel, but they never claim to be protecting trans people when trying to put them in death camps.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh, no, they have openly said they're doing most of this to protect trans kids... protect them from being trans that is, which they apparently think can only happen by them being forced or tricked into it. They're horrible people, and the only thing worse than the things they do out of hate are the things they do out of "love"

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh I'm not saying that Republicans clam to protect *every* demographic that they're trying to exterminate, just that claims of protecting that demographic are a 100% reliable indicator that they're going to try to exterminate said demographic.

Every anti-trans law being weaponized against all women and girls.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Like that young girl getting harassed for having the audacity to have a pixie cut while participating in track and field.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The sauce is not always easy to find. Passed legislation; http://www.kslegislature.org/li/b2023_24/measures/documents/sb180_enrolled.pdf

(7) an individual born with a medically verifiable diagnosis of
"disorder/differences in sex development" shall be provided legal
protections and accommodations afforded under the Americans with disabilities act and applicable Kansas statutes.

(2) a "female" is an individual whose biological reproductive system
is developed to produce ova, and a "male" is an individual whose
biological reproductive system is developed to fertilize the ova of a
female;

Sauce beyond the tweet?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

I promise it is not that hard to google "Kansas anti-trans bill."

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

Bruh, these days ya kinda gotta ask "which bill," and asking someone presenting information to give some sauce shouldn't exactly be controversial lol

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's also not hard to read it, except for the OP and other stupid people. It's fucked up, of course, but it's based on the characteristics of the reproductive system at birth.

Oh! Will I suddenly be a man and get a 30% raise when I turn 45?

2 years ago | Likes 142 Dislikes 1

Your optimism is adorable

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

No, they will still require "proof of penis" for the benefits. This might even involve having to display them in order to prove male-ness. (This started as a joke but feels too real)

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

if you are making 30% less than other men in your area and industry with the same experience, ask for a raise and/or get a new job. Changing jobs is one of the best things you can do to increase salary

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 32

Obtain a competing offer - I higher salary from another, similar job/role - THEN ask for a raise. Otherwise you're gonna get a no.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Just get a higher paying job" is the financial equivalent of telling someone who is depressed to just stop being sad.

2 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 2

I don't think you got the joke

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Stop being a statistic? Okay! I’ll get riiiight on that!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Women actually get penalized when they try to negotiate for higher pay the way men do. All the traits that are seen as a positive thing for men are seen as a negative thing for women, so being “assertive” just gets us labeled as “ungrateful bitches.”

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

Nah, just not allowed to pee in public anymore, or participate in sporting events. Oh and bands of fascists may murder you at any moment.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You think menopause will hit you at 45? Dream on girl. I'm hitting 49 soon and my stupid ovaries are happily popping out egg like clockwork. *sigh*

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Friend of mine went though it at 33. She thought she was pregnant and got a very nasty surprise. Apparently, according to her Dr, it is actually not that unusual for women to hit it in their 30s-40s. It's not super common, but it happens fairly regularly

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My hit like a truck at 43. Sigh. Hot flashes ever 20 min! For YEARS!!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have endo and will probably end up with a historectomy around that time. This ain’t no dream.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Saw the birdfeeder in your posts, so I guess that you are already close to that age. ;-) Otherwise it sounds miserable, being in pain and having to wait.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fortunately, I have an IUD that prevents any pain from this. But I anticipate that my doctor will eventually just recommend to take the whole thing out.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Enjoy it while you can. Perimenopause is not fun!

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Three years of almost permanent exhaustion, enlivened by random bursts of pain in various parts of my body, plus flushing and night sweats. 1/10, cannot recommend.
