The fact that both the left and right claim the others can't meme just shows how far apart the two groups have had. In order to share a meme, there has to be a common language the people all understand. If you are just a little out of that circle, then you should be able to understand the meme even if you don't "get it," but to be so far removed that the meme doesn't even make sense just shows how far the groups have diverged.

I have tried out the Other Side's comedy in all forms. I consider myself center-left, socially liberal. I just don't see a lot of cleverness in right-wing stuff. Yeah, I can see where the joke derives from, but it doesn't require much thought or consideration so the payoff isn't as satisfying. Does anybody else relate to this, or do I just think this way because I don't agree with conservative opinions?

I've seen some good memes from the right. And some really bad ones from the left. I think a large part of the problem is that the extremists are making memes that are hateful, stupid, and which most people disagree with - and then social media amplifies circulation to keep us fighting. Hence the panicked reaction to Brian Thompson's "murder." They know their scam is beginning to fall apart.

You misunderstand. Their hatred of women COMES from the shame they feel about how they relate to them. They are told the dynamic is one way, but feel another. The conflict and being unable to resolve it makes them unappealing to women, and that furthers their alienation from women. Fascist types are ultimately, submissive. They want to be chained up by AOC, are ashamed of it, so they lash out publicly and make a big show, the same way anti-gay pastors get caught with 14 year old boys on repeat.
