Me, neck deep into a serious heroin addiction. I weighed 100 lbs in this pic. It's from last year. The shit I put my mind, body, and soul through is excruciating to look back on. I hated myself, and wanted to off myself.

Good job op!!

My brother didn't make it through his heroin addiction. Glad to see that some people can/do make it out. Proud of you, op.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hey op. Any suggestions for detox? Anything you learned that could help with the major discomfort?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can you go to a detox center? Or rapid detox? Health insurance is helpful in this case

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutly. Just go do it brother. Put yourself through the pain so you don't forget it. Detox is safe. Safe places are better

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dude. That is awesome! Amazon.com pick something out for >20 bucks (I'm not rich) and let me know. Or put it on wish list and link it. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haha, nice. No worries, you're picking it all up now. Hope your weekend was awesome. :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Just saying @OP you didn't look too bad back then but you do you way better now. Good job!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Congrats OP, my brother died from his heroin addiction, it's a hard habit to kick. Keep staying strong

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I got to 20 years clean in April from heroin. Little voice never goes away but it gets easier to fight by building good in your life. 1/

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I took 20 years clean on July 31st. Feels good.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hell yeah it does! There aren't many of us. It's crazy to see how many having problems now. I get it though. The pill looks harmless. 1/

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People don't understand they're gonna be just as screwed as if they used a needle. It's deceptive. I knew I was fucking up when I used H .

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My first yr I didn't keep cash on me, and I couldn't watch my favorite movies . It's hard to kick but I promise you can do it. 2/

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It's never easy, but you got through the first part, which is the hardest physically. If you need to vent/need advice, you can PM me.3/3

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

100 lbs in that first pic? How tall are you?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OP is a babe.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thank you :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're welcome! :) Just saying it how I see it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't know why this is being downvoted. Good for you!

9 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 4

Kids are back in school, so that means more fucktards trolling Imgur instead of paying attention to the teacher.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 10

Word. I posted a weight loss picture as motivation and get downvoted. Imgur is a fickle beast

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Anyone who down votes positivity is just the worst. I went to your post to upvote!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

me too lol .

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Y'all are the ones Imgur needs but not the ones they deserve

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Selfies=downvote

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

Anyone bettering their lives and trying to inspire others with similar pasts that they too can achieve a better life = all of my upvotes.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Well, a high percentage of people are illiterate. So there's that. And I'm sorry, only one vote per post and comment.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Only one? v

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah. Those are the rules. I think we should get one extra vote a day to do what we want with. Even save them up and use them all at once.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

These illiterate people have smartphones?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, smart phones talk to them and aid them in clicking randomly.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I can tell you're doing better @OP because in the second picture you can see your smile in your eyes. Life changes can be hard, but they 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you!!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

are worth it. It is amazing how much your life can improve just by changing who you are friends with. I'm living proof of that. Keep it up.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

Can't see them eyes though

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But it's like...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Stay strong, OP. 3 November will be 15 years clean for me. It gets easier. v

9 years ago | Likes 536 Dislikes 2

Nawww

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Awesome man I just hit 1 year 9 months this month. Was on it for 6 years.

9 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 0

I spent my teens strung out, and when I quit was up to about a $280- $300 a day habit. Met some good people and a great woman and changed.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Props! 11-2-10 for me!

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Fuck yeah! Over halfway to a decade clean!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I find it gets easier with a bit of cocaine so i can focus on the problem at hand.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Plot twist: is 16

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

Uh uh! Later this month I'll be 33 and a half! v

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good on ya, man!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

just had 9 years , you have my total respect , stay strong + focused it does get easier .

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

I don't know you, and I am sorry if this sounds weird, but I'm proud of you.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This past year I almost forgot the anniversary. Finally reached a point where being clean is who I am, not who I'm trying to be.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Serious question, do you ever miss it? Asking, cos i am 2 years meth free and miss it every day still

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Sure. It's fun at the start. But I don't at all miss where I ended up. It's the disease that tells me I could go back to where it started.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

not as much + not as intense , it realy does get easier ,never 4get the shit it causes , stay strong .

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I did the first few months, but then fell in love and didn't for a couple of years, and when I did miss it again I was a soldier. 1/?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I missed it for a while then, but managed to stay clean. Then when I got out I traveled and wrote and kept my focus on better things. 2/?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now I'm nearly 15 years clean and the thought of anything, not just junk, that alters my mind makes me feel sick to my stomach. 3/?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can't even drink alcohol anymore. My body reacts to it like I'm drinking spoiled milk now, and has for the last 4.5 years. 4/5

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does the craving ever go away? After 15 years what is your day like?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It did for me. My typical day now is work, workout, spend time with my son, play guitar, read, hopefully sleep a couple of hours.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is pretty mundane, but I like it this way. I still have the dark thoughts that drove me to use as a teen, but I don't numb them anymore.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With someone that has nothing and life is pretty shitty with nobody to talk to either, how do you avoid this shit?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yea. Comfort zones need to be thrown out.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Step outside of your comfort zone. Start learning a new hobby. Something you find yourself wishing you'd learned when you were younger.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I started learning guitar 3 years ago, at age 30. Now, three years later, I'm still fucking horrible at it. I'm so bad. But I love it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Find that passion. It's fucking hard, but you can find it. Then go after it hard, and you'll make friends along that same path as you do.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And therapy. I can't stress this enough. If you're broke, google "[your city]+therapy+sliding scale" and you can find help.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

start afresh in anouther direction , it can be done .

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The hardest part for me was cutting people out. I had to move to another country to get some of them to leave me alone.
