8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where do I buy this

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you can change the code, as up up down down is a bit too obvious, and also the size of the usb, then this is a solid gift.

an ancient device

Or you could take those two screws out and disassemble it

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

But it has a key

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's the weirdest looking pocket watch I've ever seen.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can see ways to get around it but I still want one

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have it, kinda cool, usb 3. Quite cheap build though and can just unscrew it easily with your fingers

All locks are mechanical... Locking MECHANISMS in every one :)

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Not necessarily, my apartment complex uses electromagnet locks.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Are there any moving parts? I've seen electromagnetic locks with either a couple moving parts or none

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nothing in between, just a big magnet that holds the metal door closed. You swipe a card that shuts it off momentarily so you can open it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

one could argue Direct pull electromagnetic locks are not mechanical, they usually have no moving parts

When I lock my computer, it's a digital lock.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aren't most locks digital as they require the use of your fingers to unlock?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One might make the argument that the term "lock" when used digitally is more (metaphorical?) Than literal. As in, it isnt really a lock,

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But more of an incredibly difficult puzzle or math problem.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It keeps people out of where I don't want them, just as any mechanical lock would. Mechanical locks are puzzles, too, hence lock picks.

At the center of each gear are two beads. Align the top two to point up, the bottom two to point down. Easy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Damnit, you stole my line.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I never understood in movies and media when they finds and ancient mechanism or something why dont they use modern tools to open ot?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Because that takes all the fun out of it, and besides they might damage the structure and what's inside if they force their way in.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i don’t get it, could you explain please?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Don't go into petty larceny.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

As you can see there are two screws visible on the left and right. All you really need is a screwdriver and you have access

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Means its not secure. It can literally be busted with a sxrewdriver

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Ah ok thank you
