Usually Mrs. Piggy was the one with a frog in her throat

Holy shit, I remember the "frog in my throat line". As soon as I saw Jim I knew he was going to say it.

RIP Mr. Henson. Your work is amazing.

Didn't realize scooter was that old of a muppet.

Sure does put a smile on your face

If you like Jim Henson but haven't watched The Storyteller then do yourself a favor and seek it out. You're in for a treat.

When this happened, I was ten. The playground joke the next day was that Miss Piggy couldn’t talk because she had a frog in her throat. Gold

2 billion people lol. Not even if they added the viewers from all Oscars combined.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I did some rough math, and you're probably right. Kermit's a high-strung though, was probably exaggerating because he was flustered.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Rich people congratulating themelves. Then everyone claps.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Jim Henson had a wait-and-see attitude, and look what happened to him. Now we have wrong sounding Muppets

Award for Animated Short Film, Anna & Bella was the winner (in case anyone is wondering)

That man was a gem. Taught my generation so many lovely lessons and had a beautiful heart

The first celebrity death that actually made me cry. I had so wanted to meet him.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That he was. To paraphrase ERB, he was gone too soon. He was like watching a beautiful sunset.. at noon.

Well said

When the Oscar’s were entertaining and had no agenda or drama

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Interesting, as a Muppet, to see a Muppet post by DrForester. As i recall, he wasnt a huge fan of certain other puppets.

Nice to see some positive Oscar content

We didn't deserve Jim. But, I'm sure glad we got to keep him for a while.

JFTR, "billions watch the Oscars" is marketing by the academy (justified via "but they *could* if they *wanted* to) and has never been true.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well who won?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

only muppets i ever liked were the chef and beaker

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd actually watch the Oscars if it were hosted by the Muppets.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There was a Craig Ferguson "Late, Late Show" all puppet version; they weren't happy with it but ... ya gotta try!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but dod Kermit ever walk on stage and smack thr shit out of someone for making fun of Mrs. Piggy?

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Not everything needs to be about that

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Miss Piggy will bitch slap you herself, thank you very much.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I understood that reference

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

... I never realized how close his real voice was to kermits... damn.

4 years ago | Likes 151 Dislikes 0

When VAs use a voice close to their own, it's difficult for other VAs to replicate. It's why Billy West uses almost his own voice for Fry.

Yup, said he was targeting a specific time of his younger life to pull from. Futurama has had a tumultuous production over the years.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Dude. For whatever reason I googled him recently. I had no idea Billy West was 69 years old

Like Fry, like Fry

Same thing with Archer and Bob’s Burgers VA. His autobiography has a chapter devoted to how he voices those characters. “It’s just my voice”

The Muppets are great, Jim Henson is great, but boy do the Oscars suck.

Not sure about that, the Oscars have been a hit lately.

Mark Kermodes reviews are my new gold standard, he's very fair to all kinds of movies.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It's been over a decade, but on a quick search "Nights With Alice Cooper."
