Me and my sweetheart on my 33rd birthday Feb. 2013

This was taken at my birthday party Feb. 2013 At this time, I was about 240-245 lbs. and I'd say a combination of depression and self control & laziness brought me here. I ate and drank my sadness...which made me more sad about my body...vicious shitty circle. At 5'1, this is morbidly obese.

So, a friend of mine said something like this....

And it stung a little but she was right.

So, I started a diet plan (Ideal Protein) and started exercising with a trainer

My first 20 lbs... I was pretty excited.

P.S.: I CANNOT STRESS TO YOU THE IMPORTANCE OF TAKING LOTS OF BEFORE & AFTER PICTURES....

I read on woman's weight loss blog that the greatest thing you could do for yourself was to create and keep a photo journal during the weight loss journey all the way to the end. So, here's the first 50 lbs of the journey.

I started making comparison photo collages

This helped me see the weight loss on my bad days when I couldn't see it in the mirror....

And I kept little inspirational things on my photo screens

to encourage me to keep going...

I decided to say F**K Skinny and work on being STRONG

So I bought new workout gear to remind myself why I am doing the journey. The shirt says "Forget Skinny! I am training to be a Bad Ass!"

A few weeks later...

Then 10 more lbs came off for a total of 30 lbs & 25 body inches.

My face became recognizable...

My friends noticed too. And that is a really inspiring thing.

I said goodbye to size 14

And then tried to weasel my way into a 12 and that wasn't pretty so I'm staying in a saggy 14 until a 12 doesn't look like a wet suit. :)

Sometimes I still needed a little something to help me

On those bad days when the scale and measuring tape said nothing.

Pre-Planning breakfasts and lunches

Protizyme and Isolyze Proteins

My pantry could have been confused with Tony Montana's

say hello to my little bags

I learned about Walden Farms Products

No calories, No carbs, sugar, and they ain't all that bad!

And then a few more lbs...

I hit a plateau that nearly made me want to quit.

But I jumped back on the wagon a little harder

And my trainer started adding things to my workouts to make them harder (Thanks Corey)

Awww yissss!

My bingo arms are starting to tine

More Motivation....

Still celebrating my arms

I bought my first pair of ridiculous leggings.

I haven't worn them yet since I bought them. I still need to find a fun denim skirt to go over them. But, if those smashing sonsabitches don't inspire you to sing "When Doves Cry" then you are blind and emotionally constipated.

My goal is to squat myself into an amazing butt

My trainer, Corey, at Smash Brothers Fitness, made me list all of my goals. On that list was a J-LO Booty.

And this was a passive agressive jab

At the chick at my local gym who made snarky comments to me while sweating my fat ass off on the treadmill.

BEETEEDUBZ (btw) It is super fucking uncool to bully, bash or pick on ANYONE at the gym who is there trying to make a difference. If you do, stop. Don't be a dick.

Activate Apparel is my favorite place to shop

For all the motivational gear you could ever need

And then I was 45 lbs thinner

*dances an Irish jig*

SW: 240 CW: 196 GW: 140-ish

I still have a ways to go but damn it, I am getting there. After being told that I had high blood pressure, pre-diabetic and a stoke candidate, I decided to make some lifestyle changes....

I still have a long way to go but I am dedicated to making the change.

Comic Con: one year apart.

I found my neck! I have a neck! Look at my neck everyone! It
s covered by hair and a snake but I can still see it.

I started rewarding myself with things that aren't food....

Like cross bows

And trips to the salon for new hair

I was watching Emperor's New Groove on my work cell. Trips to the salon can take a minute

And I bought outfits when I hit mini goals

Like this one you see here. Don't mind the monumental amount of dirt on my curio thingie.... I just brought it inside from a barn to refurb. I know it's dirty.

And really nice gifts for hitting bigger goals

And then I jumped on the PIYO

I just barely started doing this...so excited :)

This is me this very day- 50 lbs lighter.

I am currently 190.2 from 240.9

And since I started with a picture of me and my gentleman...

I shall end it that way too. See my neck!?! I HAVE A NECK!

@Piggypruewho thank you for this post. It's the kick in the ass I needed to brush myself off and start again. Keep up the confidence girl!

Good work. Keep it up!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

You've got some of the best workout tops I've seen. I wish you all the best. You're doing great and being totally awesome!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good job, op. Also your eyebrows are awesome.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Emotionally constipated.. yes.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Getting ready for round two of losing weight, didn't keep if off the first time. I will take your advice and take lots of pics this time!!

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm a month into round two. Lost 60lbs a few years ago...and it's been slowly coming back on...I had zero photos from the first go at it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You look great, you really do. But, that Waldon Farms shit will give you cancer quicker than you can say "Splenda". That's what they use

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I totally get it. I do not recommend you live on that stuff but in a pinch it's better than nothing...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Try using Stevia or even Xylitol. Stevia is a natural plant derivative and Xylitol has no known toxicity in humans.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the idea of french fries getting stuck in my ass makes me uncomfortable

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I mean everyone has their fetish

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love your bangs look, you rock it. Congratulations on your success and lifestyle change. Did you have a nutritionist?

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I am a member of Ideal Protein weight loss clinic which has a RN as the coach...so kinda.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hey Facebook, nice to see you here.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Awesome. Job op!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The plateau thing sucks. So best way to lose weight is to exercise the fat off 1st. If u plateau, then start dieting along w/ more exercise.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I need to do something about this myself, these posts help. I think I have to be able to deal with the world mentally first though

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Rock on girl! I too have recently lost 50lbs, feels pretty damn awesome doesn't it?! :-D Keep it up!!

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What makes this even better to read is the fact that I'm sitting here scrolling through with Olive Garden breadstick in my mouth.

11 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 1

can i have one?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh gods. I'm suffocating lol that was fantastic

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

MMM bread...

11 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

It's been weeks since I've had bread.. This comment hurt my feelings. Lol.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Please marry me. I'll marry your boyfriend too, if he has to be part of the deal

11 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 0

Do you fold laundry and unload dishwashers? i do live in Utah...this may be acceptable. (I kid, I kid)

11 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

I always feel like anyone who mentions UT must live in my neighborhood lol

Lulz-- Steve?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well considering I am a single dad, yes I do all the household chores AND work full time!

11 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Dad here, married, kudos!!!

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Call me an asshole, but I feel like there are many women who would be gorgeous if they were not over weight. Great job OP!

11 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 10

Asshole. Haha it's ok though I'm an asshole too ;)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Couldn't agree more. Everyone around me that has lost weight becomes pretty skinny. Even prettier than those already skinny

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I guess fat people are genuinely pretty.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I totally understand where you are coming from dude...

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

You've got an extremely pretty face in general. Also good on you for going fit instead of skinny! So much healthier and beneficial.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

May you never lose your neck again, OP.

11 years ago | Likes 1754 Dislikes 2

Or your super cute jaw line!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A neck is a terrible thing to lose.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Long Live the Neck!!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OP is so smart. Rewards of stuff instead of food, brilliant. Take the 15 bucks you would have spent on pizza and buy a cute top instead.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

This is the best thing! I am always happy when I lost a few pounds again and can buy clothes a smaller size! Feels much better than a pizza

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Genius

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You have gorgeous eyes!

11 years ago | Likes 402 Dislikes 4

Seriously, she looked pretty in the before picture. Can't wait to see how the rest of the transformation goes!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Her whole face is gorgeous, and her great attitude doesn't hurt either.

11 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 1

Looove her makeup! flatters her very well

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I think she`s married.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

..but for the love of god leave your eyebrows alone.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 20

her eyebrows are perfect

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They're perfect naturally.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seriously her eyebrow game

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Great job, OP! But that Walden Farms stuff is naaaa-STAY. I tried several of the salad dressings. Rather eat naked lettuce!

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Fair enough, I don't like all of it but some of it is really decent.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How is it calorie free? What's in it?

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I just looked it up, it's mostly water, and non-digestible plant fiber fillers. Flavored non-digestible "food."

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Regret and Despair. LOL... http://www.waldenfarms.com/ have a look

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

fillers, flavoring.. coloring, it's not food

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

the FDA allows "calorie free" on packaging if it's, like, .49 calories per serving. most of it has *some* just less than 1.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Packets of Splenda are technically zero-calorie, but they have about 4 calories each, compared to 15 per sugar packet. It's silly.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not bad. Keep it up. have you tried the Slow-Carb diet? You will lose a crazy amount of weight with it

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I have not. But I just started reading about it...it's pretty damn close to what I am currently doing.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Give it 2 weeks strict slow-carb. You will see a major difference.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I'm hitting really hard this week--Thanks for the heads up, that's really cool of you.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

;)

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

How did you and him wind up doing this? I tried with mine and all I did was get "your calling me a fat cow" :|

11 years ago | Likes 484 Dislikes 5

You should've said "my calling me a fat cow what?"

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I once told my gf it looked like she lost weight and she got mad. "Are you saying I need to? Are you calling me fat?"

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Either insecure or manipulative. Or both. Be careful with that.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For anyone that sees this. I'm a dude, and I was talking about my ex wife. I tried the destresser route/one plate. "inconsiderate asshole"

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

It has to come from her. Trying to manipulate or shame someone into losing weight just doesn't work. She needs to be ready to change.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Do it for yourself and see if they follow.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Tell him you aren't calling him a fat cow, but now just single

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Im a guy. I was talking about my ex wife

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Apologies.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I'd agree with the rest. Work out yourself. Let your SO know how good it feels to be healthy/confident. My bf started that, and now (1)

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I want to be just as attractive for him as he is for me. Also, it took a lot to get me to the gym...I find it's easier if the gym is emptier

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm right in there with you, bud. I need to know the secret!

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Just do you. Make your own meals&snacks. hit the gym alone. Make the change and do it. They eventually come along for the ride too.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I have been.. for last 6 years. and the other part is getting pudgy..

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Ahh. Well, you just love them and encourage them as best you can and if you can't love them the way they are, well...make your choice.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Divorce Time! As per Imgur! :D

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Just start doing it on your own, by yourself. Don't make two meals. Or snacks. Eventually they are kinda forced to eat what you eat.

11 years ago | Likes 281 Dislikes 1

Awesome job, keep it up!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good advice... I started to gain a bit of weight since I moved in with my (now) husband, because of his eating habits... I shall revenge :D

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes! This! My fiancé went off carbs so I pretty much stopped eating carbs too!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

you are absolutely amazing.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

By the way, this is the most inspiring weight loss post I've seen on this site. Thanks for not just posting pics, but posting thighs (a)

11 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Things* that help and motivate as well. Great job, favoriting for future inspiration! (B)

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

And thighs... Nice leggings!

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Any suggestions for making this work with a kid that I cook for as well? I can feed her healthier things, but not to lose weight.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also, this is the first weight loss post I've favorited (I think). Honestly, really inspiring. Great work, OP!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's my challenge as well - three little ones that Need calories shoveled into them (skinny, active kids) + a husband who's 6'4 (I'm 5'9 >

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

>He just needs more calories than me). Portion control + nutrition dense + subs for non-dinner meals = my solution so far for mostly maint.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good Question. I actually started my stepdaughter on a similar regimen. She is 14. How old is your kiddo?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My girly will be 10 next week. She's athletic and has that kind of build, but she's not at a place where she needs to lose weight that...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...I think won't even out with a few more inches - and she's been gaining height recently as opposed to pounds.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would keep Atkin's Advantage snack bars in the house, low suagr and carb, taste awesome. Raw fruit and veggies. Lean meat, fewer breads :)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm single and living at home with my parents. It's really hard to eat healthy yourself when mum cooks dinner every night...

11 years ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 2

When I was at home my Mom said "you're putting on weight." Then she made fried chicken paired with the leftover bacon from breakfast...

11 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

I love/hate your mum.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

To quote OP: To get fit, you have to give away only one thing. Your excuses.

11 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 0

Yea, I know. I really do try. EXCUSES: I work an hour away from home,I work 10 hrs a day minimum 6 days a week and I'm tired.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Even when I do my 18 hr double shifts I still prepare my meals. Get a Foreman grill. 6 minute grilled chicken. It's a life saver.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Completely understand this. Moved from home at 210. After a year of living on my own, I was 147. I moved back to the same state now, I'm 158

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Diet: Breakfast: 24oz coffee, 100calorie granola bar. lunch: pb&j sandwich. dinner: chicken, rice. Drink 120oz water/walk 10k steps daily.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That hardly seems like enough calories? Food is not the enemy; food is fuel :)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This time last year I was 265 lb now I'm 230 purely because I try my best to meal plan when I can.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That means you're on your way. Just keep at it and slowly introduce a something new once in a while (go shoot baskets, take a jog)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm about to blow your mind: your mom would fucking love it if you offered to cook dinner. She may actually cry.

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I cook when I can but it's not really ideal if we are eating at 830 at night.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hear ya :)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cook your own meals. It really is that simple. You don't have to eat what they eat.

11 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 2

I try to but it is so difficult because I leave for work at 6am and get home at like 7pm then I have to gym as well. Argh.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

agreed, if your mom doesn't want to cook healthier for w.e reason, just eat less and get yourself tons of healthy snacks, fruits and veggies

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Meal Prep like a MF'er. It will save you life.

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Have you tried talking to your parents? And worst come to worst, do portion control. A calorie deficit is a calorie deficit.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0
