Then there was this fuckery here in Texas: /gallery/psa-if-you-havent-voted-yet-keep-eye-on-registration-information-H70vDAC
I kept checking up until election day, and the location data was still unavailable until the afternoon of the election.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not wondering. The election was stolen.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

What are you peasants going to do about it when this happens in the next election? As in on the day when your vote does not count. What are you going to do lol.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Voter suppression and gerrymandering are systematically going on across the country.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So Trump cheated and eliminated anybody that can do anything about it as well as fires anybody that doesn’t do what he says

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm surprised this isn't getting downvoted to hell. Every time I have brought up how the Right cheating and the different ways including suppression and purging I get downvoyed to hell and told I'm lying and there is no proof. Even though there was tons before, during and after the election if you actually listen to legit news like NPR and other places and read about the "lost" 🗳s and ones "purged" as not filled out right when they were from mail ins. People told they registered wrong at the

Last second so it became difficult for them because they then had to figure out how to get in a physically vote. Happened to two of my elderly family members who are ♿️. But as Trump and his team have been quietly doing, they are removing evidence, and this includes articles and so on that printed these things out. I had one saved in my bookmarks about a post office who found hundereds mail in ballots just laying in the back room of a post office. Article/page is now a dead link.

I am glad we have compulsory voting and a federal organisation for organising voting at elections and lifetime enrolment.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wow, it's almost like they stole the election or something...............

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

there was virtually no resistance to their cheating. the only opposition was a completely impotent Democratic party, who always seem to be "deeply concerned", and "shocked, and whatever else, and do nothing about it

This headline is from 2021. Granted, voter suppression is totally something they do-- and it will only get worse.

But here is a link to a couple of recent-ish vids in which he basically says "we plan on rigging future elections" (July 27, 2024) and "Elon manipulated the voting computers on this election" (Inauguration Day, Jan 2025).

There is still not a shred of actual forensic evidence for direct tampering with vote counts, though.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

I mean, if you've got some, I'd love to see it.

But all I've seen here since November is variations on "The numbers just feel off, somehow."

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I believe this is the link to the story, from 2021: https://www.democracynow.org/2021/1/5/greg_palast_georgia
I definitely would not be surprised if it turns he'd have lost in 2024 without voter suppression.

1 year ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Sweet sauce, thank you!

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't think there's any way Trump legitimately won the election. It doesn't make sense any way you look at it.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Now they're trying to push through legislation where you need a birth cert to vote. If your name doesn't match your birth name, no vote. So married women who took their husband's names or anyone who legally changed names will have to jump through all sorts of hoops in order to keep their vote.

"Never before, in the history of the United States, have we ever witnessed such a brazen attack on democracy, on international law, on the constitution of this nation, and any of our allies who stood for us." - Future hague style court proceedings.

I believe voter purges happened in every battleground state. Trump had it in the bag before voting even started. Now, this took the action of a network of people, so eventually, after Trump's out of the picture, some of these people will talk, and some of these people will be found dead.

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

What was the place he instantly starting "truthing" that major cheating was going on, on election night? But then the vote swung back to him and we never heard any more about it? He was probably told that he'd easily win that state but he's so dumb he doesn't understand how counting even works and how it can start out looking like Dems are ahead.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

How is this supposed to have happened in states with Democratic governors, though? Because they account for four of the six states that flipped from blue to red last year.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You no longer live in a democracy if people can't vote

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They also like to close polling sites. 1 out of every 5 polling sites have have been closed over the past decade.

1 year ago | Likes 345 Dislikes 2

They moved mine to one where people couldn't really walk to

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

concentrated in poor and minority areas + around colleges, they also restrict early and mail voting to compel people to all go to the few polling stations guranteeing long lines and delays

1 year ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Because better-off people can afford to take the time to queue, poor people (who are more likely to vote Democrat) can't

1 year ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 1

They're also just gaming population density. Republicans rely on rural and exurban voters. Obviously each municipality needs at least one polling place, so voters living in places that only ever needed one polling place to begin with are unaffected. Meanwhile in cities and suburbs where Democrats live, the number of polling places are meaningfully reduced, making for hours-long lines.

The sad truth is that a plurality of voters simply opted for Trump.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

"Exactly. Only a dirty Trumper would accuse the other side of cheating and we're not dirty Trumpers so we CAN'T accuse the other side of cheating even with a ton of hints everywhere, otherwise we're hypocrites and no better than them. Let's all be good little liberals and just accept it because ~*~decorum~*~ which liberals can't help but uphold." - Trump's Election Staff

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Eh?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's not obvious? January 6th taught liberals that "complaining about election fraud" is something only a Dirty Conservative would do, and we're not dirty conservatives, no sir! So now liberals CAN'T complain about elections or else they're "no better" than the MAGA idiots they hate so much, or at least that's what they tell themselves. So now GOP is free to commit all the ACTUAL election fraud they want knowing that liberals/democrats think it's beneath them and hypocritical to call it out.

This time? Literally says "Story January 05, 2021" in that picture...

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

They're extrapolating that none of those purged reregistered, which is highly unlikely. And at least some of those purged were purged rightfully. This is a meaningless statistic without detailed documentation.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Obviously I cant prove it, but it is my deeply held conviction that this is why Harris lost.

1 year ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 6

It is not.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

Maybe you're referring to a different event, but the date on this one is January of 2021.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

its not one event. Lots of places purged voter rolls after biden won. And lots of polling places were closed, and a lot of other forms of voter supression. And of course, plenty of old fashioned ballot boxes going missing.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It didn't help, but even blue states shifted red since 2020. Harris Lost 2 million votes in her home state of CA, compared to what Biden got in 2020. 9M vs 11M.

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

states are not homogeneous, plenty of republicans even in San Francisco. Jan 6th was a rehearsal. They got serious over the next 4 years.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yes, almost every single state shifted red, while a couple stayed about the same - the Dems didn't gain anywhere. And four of the six states that flipped to Trump have Democratic governors.

I don't doubt that the Republicans tried everything they could in the states they control, but Trump would probably have won anyway, even in the absence of that.

Which is why you need a national ID card and national online ID system, used ONLY when interacting with the state, but possibly with an intermediate locker system for use with private websites that need ID. Automatically attributed at birth (or at 18 in some cases) and never purged. I mean you *need* a way to securely and uniquely interact with your own gov.

This is why I try to correct people when they say that a bunch of amercians "chose" not to vote. Sure some made the choice not to, but this sort of stuff has been happening all over the country for longer than any of us have been alive. It's always been really hard to vote in the US if you live in any place that isn't basically guaranteed to vote republican. It makes me so mad watching people be denied the right to vote and then have some asshole spit in their face for being a victim.

1 year ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 2

Exactly! Stop punching down on victims! Place the blame where it belongs!

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So is it more accurate to blame the blue party for not bringing these issues with voting up and saying they are complicit? Because from the outside it looks like a bunch of Americans went *meh* on voting and now the world has to deal with Trump again. I would love someone else to blame because it's a little hard defending the average American with my friends while we are talking about if tarrif wars or a military invasion within Trump's lifetime are a possibility.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

I've been saying it every time people post conspiracist horseshit about starlink, and every time people have been all "I BLAME AL LTHE MINORITIES WHO VOTED FOR TRUMP I HOPE THEY SUFFER"

The republicans pulled SO MUCH shit at every step of the way in every state they could, in every way they were "allowed" and in at least a few illegal-but-allowed-by-SupCourt ways.

1 year ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 1

similarly fun when liberals turn all their ire into deplatforming leftists because they couldnt endorse fascist genocide and that somehow "lost us the election". Punching down is the only punching they are brave enough for

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I'm pretty sure they did quite a few things in not-so-legal-or-allowed ways too.

1 year ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

100%. They also changed the laws to allow them to do stuff that wasn't previously allowed.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Don't forget in illegal-but-by-the-time-it-gets-settled-by-a-court-it-won't-matter ways. Such as illegally purging voters.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yuuuup, the voter suppression was cranked up to 11, not really sure why everyone immediately forgot what we were watching happen in real-time prior/during the election. I honestly can imagine it having changed the outcome of the election.

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

it 100% changed the outcome, we can tell just by the reduction in voter-turnout..

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I blame republican voters regardless of their race or gender.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

This happened in every red state, and the supreme court said "well. It's illegal, but we want trump to win, so go for it."

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

But there was a red shift in *every* state, including the Democratic party's strongholds, such as New York, California, Massachusets and DC.

Why is it hard to believe this could also happen in states that Biden won only very narrowly in 2020?

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Because the "shift" was caused by a sudden unexplained massive increase in ballots that only voted for Trump, nothing else on the ballot. And it only happened in swing states.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No, the shift happened in almost every state. That's the entire point - it happened everywhere. You can see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_States_presidential_election#/media/File:Presidential_Election_Results_Swing_by_State_from_2020_to_2024.svg

And the idea that 'bullet ballots' were cast in suspicious numbers appears to have come from an assertion made by one guy, Stephen Spoonamore, that everyone has taken as gospel truth, but there's a debunk of his reasoning on the >

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, when you purge most of the democrats in your district from the voting rolls Illegally, yes, there will be a "red shift."

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is there any evidence that's happened in *all* states, though? And how are the Republicans supposed to have achieved this even in states that the Democratic party controls, with a Democratic president at the time?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look at California, which has been a Democratic stronghold since forever. The Dems control the governorship, the Senate seats, and 3/4 of the House seats. (Yes, I know they had a Republican governor relatively recently, but he's also a strident critic of Trump.)

Yet Harris got nearly 2M fewer votes than Biden did. If you think that was due to the agents of MAGA somehow "purging Democratic voters", while the Democrats *also* controlled the White House, then you're as deluded as the QAnon crowd.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The greatest tragedy of 2024 is that democrats didn't demand as many recounts as Trump did in 2020. So much fraud and cheating and we just have to accept it? Dems have won the popular vote every election for the last 20 years in a very clear trend of how the country is leaning and all of the sudden the GOP sweeps every swing state and popular vote... for the dude who massively dropped the ball during COVID and 90 pending felonies? Bull-fucking-shit.

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

Nah, it doesn't work like that. Biden won by a fairly narrow margin in 2020 (less than 5%), there's widespread dissatisfaction about the state of the economy and the scale of illegal immigration, and Harris was seen as offering more of the same.

TBH it would have been a miracle if she had won, given all that.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

The polls showing the candidates neck-and-neck make it easy to blame Trump voters for the win. The fact that he did lose votes from some people but made them all up again from demographics that he apparently seems to actively hate, while Harris just straight up lost votes (compared to Biden), makes it hard not to just think "America wanted this."

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

1 year ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 2

If there was at least as much voter suppression this last election as that election, then he won because of it. Can't imagine how much there will be next time.

The post title does make it seem like the news item is about the latest one, though.

TLDR

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This has been happening since 2016 and people have been sounding the alarms every time. There are even "vigilante voter reporters" or whatever the fuck they call themselves. These people call their local voter boards and report people who they suspect may be ineligible to vote, but are registered. One particular woman has reported probably close to 100k just by herself.

There was a documentary made by Greg Palast called Vigilantes Inc. that I watched last year before the election. I thought that, if true, the southern states (especially) are doomed when it comes to voter suppression. It was quite upsetting. He interviewed people who are part of a network that reports individuals who are committing voter fraud -- or so they believe. This evidently has led to the removal of these names from voter rolls.
