Clearly, there's one solution to this conundrum.

They don't want you gringo. One of the most racist country in the world is what you don't get. (been there 15y). And the reason there are so little men doing that is because it doesn't pay at all for men.

5 days ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 3

Only the hard workers have remained.

5 days ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

They make almost zero money. Last I remember it was around 6000 yen per shoot, which can last a day. This is not a new thing.
And no, foreigners are not welcome, stop your weeb fantasies.

I remember this story from what feels like a decade ago.

in Louisville they have a statue of David on a street corner on bourbon row. the other day I saw Google Maps has the FACE of David blurred/censored but the penis is clear as day.

Jokes and funnies aside it’s not a job I would want. Preventative bullshit buttressing, I am pro-expression and am fine with this material existing, just not a job I’d want.

It’s extremely difficult to transition from the adult industry to more traditional jobs for numerous reasons.

Goodbye privacy, and the more famous you become, the worse it will get.

The compensation isn’t great. Top actors can do quite alright but most are living scene to scene, paycheck to paycheck and have other jobs.

5 days ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

It’s a good retirement plan.

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Im curious what the culture and behind the scenes is like. I’m sure like any other production there are long hours and long days.

I’ve heard that actors might shoot several scenes in a day. It sounds funny to say you’d want to do-the-do for 10-12 hours a day but that sounds completely exhausting.

There’s also choosing your partner. I’m sure the top actors can choose their partners to an extent but the bottom actors probably don’t get much say and have to take any scene they can get.

5 days ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It's not just the adult industry, but being able to live a normal life. You're basically taking the act of sex and making it into a production. The arousal is all performative. It's a lot of pressure. Even with ED drugs. And think about it... as a fantasy, it sounds alluring. But if you're doing this regularly, how do you have a normal sex life? And what kind of woman is OK to be with a porn star, knowing he'll be intimate with other women? It's a really messed up way to have a career.

5 days ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Fully agreed, to add, there are a lot of men who aren’t okay with their gf/wife doing that

5 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Not a joke, most adult actresses in Japan, after stopping porn, either go into prostitution, strip work, or straight up nope out of life, because it's straight up impossible for them to get any other kind of job afterwards, and most people don't even want to have a serious relationship with them.
The weeb fantasies are crazy compared to reality.

4 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Excellent point about different cultures. Stigmas in the US are pretty bad but are probably a little more forgiving than other cultures.

4 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Weebs here need to underatand they they don't want your foreign ass there, it doesn't pay, and the only visa that will allow you to do that is the permanent resident one which implies in 99% of the cases that you are married.

Now you can go back to your body pillows.

There's a manga that does an interesting look into it. Manga Diary of a Male Porn Star. Not explicit at all, but does provide an insider's look into what the industry is like and the difficulties they face. Fascinating read, I felt.

Seems to take the Pun Pun approach by making the main charakter look like a doodle, while everyone around them is depicted as humans. Looks a bit like "Bean" from the Space Comics on IMGUR.

5 days ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

True, but it's nowhere near as fucked up as Pun Pun. A bit of drama, sure, but nothing too bad. I couldn't even finish Pun Pun in one go, had to stop at around the 80% mark to go read something happy like Azumanga Daioh before I finished the rest of it. Pun Pun is one of the greatest books I've ever read that I will absolutely never read again.

Also, possibly the exact opposite: while men have access to high-paying jobs, it seems women have a harder time to find a place in the office work "salaryMAN" culture.

5 days ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

True. Japan is still very behind in terms of gender equality, and their work culture tends to be pretty sexist. Office ladies, sexual harassment, etc.

5 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Unless they are a top 10 talent, they get almost nothing. If you never see his face, he's a producer and doesn't want to pay for a cock.

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

well they are in demand so the pay is very good. problem is that japan has an unhealthy work culture and well not a lot of men have the confidence to be a porn star there. Like everything is pixelated. wouldn't anyone get tired of fucking pixelated pussy?

5 days ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

Definitely a lot of stigma around it here for sure.

5 days ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Not enough of a stigma apparently for the porn stars to vote still vote R

5 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How long did it take you to get into the industry?

5 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, I was 12 when I realized girls are pretty. Does that count as being in the industry?

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you still 12?

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even in Western culture, being a male porn star is difficult. If you just think about how hard it must be to maintain an erection when they have to reshoot scenes for hours upon hours. It doesn't matter how hot the girls are, you're going to have trouble after a while.

5 days ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

And reaching climax on camera can be particularly difficult. I was listening to a documentary once and the male porn star said something that haunts me (even though I'll never be in the industry): When they have to bring in a stunt cock to ejaculate it's a very long walk home for you.

5 days ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Pills changed that drastically

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

Male and female actors are professionals for a reason, there is without a doubt a significant and unique skill set that comes with the trade. There's a good reason why Johnny Sins has such a decorated CV and so many accolades to his name...

5 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It’s called a Fluffer.

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

That’s not a thing that exists. That would literally be keeping a prostitute on set. That’s just thing made up for dirty jokes and movies. 20 year industry vet here.

5 days ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

It is a thing but not in the profession. Been to a few gangbangs with fluffers.

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So, like I said… not a thing. We’re talking about being on a porn set, not a bunch of civilians sloppin’ each others whatsits.

4 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I don't think that has been a problem since the invention of ED meds.

5 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

ED meds are not magic, you still have to be mentally or physically stimulated

5 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Which still can lead to health issues when you might have to take them regularly for your work

5 days ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

It's not just the fact that an erection be maintained, but to suppress ejaculation. Unless they're on ED meds like Viagra or Cialis, do the ejaculation part first, then pretend all the foreplay after that.

I once read a confession from a male porn star that it's NOT at all what you expect. Your mind is constantly focused on the performance and the play-acting. You don't really get to enjoy the finale, with few exceptions. And to separate that from your home sex life... it's rather difficult.

5 days ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

If I described my job as a Recruiter to you it probably wouldn't sound very appealing either. This sounds like a lot more fun. 😁

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It’s a tough gig and can jam up the entire production if we’re made to wait for the dude to get hard, or finish too soon or finish too late. It’s absolutely not the fantasy gig guys seem to think it is. This actually applies to any top with a penis. 20 years in trans porn here… nobody likes to top because the pressure is all on you, (and it messes with some performers dysphoria)

5 days ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Plus, having to maintain the weird angles for the camera requires twisting into strange positions while still staying hard and performing.
But on the ones I worked on, the cast and crew were super cool, so it was a really fun experience overall.

5 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

"trans porn" as in transgender porn, or as the prefix "trans-", like something beyond porn?

5 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

Take a look at my profile, you’ll piece it together.

4 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Employment in adult entertainment as always been skewed because the main porn consumers are straight men who don't care if they see the same ten guys in every film. What they want to see is lots of different women, sometimes 20 or more in one gooning session. Women's careers in this field tend to be a lot shorter too. Many young actresses star in 1-5 films and then quit because the job is too rough. Men also face certain physical limitations. Very few can get & stay hard on a film set day after…

5 days ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 4

day. This is why we used to see so many conventionally ugly men in porn before viagra (e.g., Ron Jeremy). They had a rare talent and the industry couldn't be picky. And while there are little blue pills nowadays, they're not without side effects. If you pop viagra 5 times a week, chances are you'll have to up your dosage after a while, which increases the risk of heart problems. Plus men may become unable to perform without viagra. This might seem like a dream job but it's very demanding work.

I mean, they are actresses. When they scream "Oh fuck yes give it to me", what they actually mean is "You're hurting me you fucking sadist! I know you know this and get off on it! The only reason you legally get away with this abuse is that I want to get paid and have already signed a release form that makes this consensual work even when I try to crawl away and you notice it and hold me in place like the serial rapist that you are". I'd definitely call that acting. Under extreme duress at that.

5 days ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 6

Gee you make a clear and cogent argument! Bravo 👏🏼

5 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 16

This is probably another reason why so few men are willing to do this job. Gentle flower sex scenes are few and far between compared to anal, face fucking, DP and brutal gangbangs. It takes a certain kind of person to keep hammering away at someone who is in noticeable pain and distress, and get off at the end, and still manage to sleep at night.

5 days ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 2

Exactly. You sign a contract. You can't pick-and-choose what kinds of scenes to do. You are told what you need to do and expected to perform.

But the other thing is... how do you have a normal life around that? I don't think many women would be OK dating a porn star who is regularly intimate with other women. And those who would be... I can't imagine there's many who'd have other redeeming qualities you want.

5 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

i know 4 women in real life who would slap you right now.. usually its the women who suck the men dry.. and the men being too lazy to give it to them as hard as they demand.. plus pay for the men is crap since they only want to see the women and thus pay for them.. so only few stick around for a while.. most men in the industry are like there for a few weeks and than leave.. mentally its not changeling, cuz the camera runs only for 40min in a 5 hour work day, there's small talk with coworkers

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 17

I don't doubt that there are women who are into very rough sex on a consensual and risk-aware basis. The porn industry is not that. What typically happens is that a young prospective actress who needs money and has no idea what she's in for agrees to film one of the more extreme scenes that earn the most money, and once the abuse starts they just try to live through it somehow. Anyone with a shred of empathy can see that actresses in DP or gangbang porn are in actual distress. Just like anyone …
