Found out after work today that my older sister (27) was found 'unresponsive' in her office on deployment as a medical officer in the armed forces. No debated about the meaning of that term, I have been crying for the past 6 hours trying to come to terms with this. She'd always had little nagging health 'things' over the years, but having her stolen from this world at such a young age has left my family (her husband included) completely destroyed.
We had the typical brother-sister hatred during parts of our childhood, but became extremely close once we both grew up a bit. I never get to see another movie with her, which was one of our traditions.
While retaining some anonymity, I needed to tell someone, however amorphous that someone is.
I'll miss you, KCL
Edit: thank you so much for the kind words, it really means a lot.
Edit 2: This goofy website never ceases to surprise me. Thank you so much for the out pouring of support, you all have big hearts and this is what I needed right now. Please pray for the rest of my family - over the past few years we've all settled in different places and many of us are grieving alone right now. We're working to get together soon, but it's still up in the air.
I'm doing better today, the distraction of work has helps a little. Will be picking up some spotted cow (sister's favorite beer) tonight and having a drink in memory.
Thank you imgur weirdos.

Be there for each other, everyone grieves differently, give it time, be patient with yourself, dont transfer it to anger, remember the good

Sorry friend. I lost my little bro in 2016. He left 2 little boys behind. Hit me up if you need anything. I can talk. It may help

Lost my sister three years ago and I think about her every day. She’s visited me in my dreams twice so far. Family never really leave us.

“Mommy! Pleaaase! Open the doooor!” — She shot her self in a locked bathroom when I was 4. The man I was supposed to become also died.

I'm sad for you, I wish I could trade her back and they can take me instead. :(

Let your family know that there are people who are strangers, yet who wish you peace and healing of spirit in your time of sorrow.

I’m so sorry @op. The best thing I’ve found with the loss of a loved one is to keep a sweater of theirs to wrap around you when you’re sad

Or an object (teddy bear etc) you can hug when you need it. I’m so sorry. It’s a tough time.

Lost my little brother last year. He was only 25. Loosing siblings fing sucks. Remember the good times and they're never really gone <3

140 characters isn't enough for this kind of thing. Give yourself time and let others help you heal. Be kind to yourself

Whoever downvoted this is a piece of shit

It's ok, everybody's got their own stuff to deal with. Do something kind today to balance out other people's shit and it'll be alright

My brother taught me that, so I try to pass it on and live in a way that would make him proud. He was good people

That sucks, and I'm sorry. Please encourage your family members (and yourself) to get counseling. Talking it out now can prevent problems 1/

Bless you for actually giving out solid advice.
