If atrium is this big I cant imagine the size of the ventricule

Built so when a plane flies into it, it just flies out the other side undamaged.

I'm can't help but imagine the horror of designing that for heating and air circulation

I worked in a building with a 7 story atrium. Corel had an indoor fireworks display to announce Corel Draw 2.0.

Who said anything about plants in there. Atrium does not = greenhouse.

Today I learned the Chinese can make a knockoff of anything, including the Gherkin.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 11

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you just call a Zaha Hadid masterpiece to be a knockoff of the motherfucking Gjerkin..?!

Rip Zaha Hadid, she was an amazing architect.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

But a sensationally bad human being.

China/asia is now the wet dream of architectural fetish people. Beautiful high rises pop-up every month.

8 years ago | Likes 99 Dislikes 5

And they will go down with the slightest of earth quakes.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 12

Nope they won’t.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

If the contractors were cheating during the build of those high rises, then yes it would.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Good to know all that communist money is spent on luxuries and but necessities. Like clean air.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 14

Lmao architectural fetish people... Should've put that under my bio

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Sounds way better than the official word 'objectophilia', right?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's a name for people who are enthusiastic about architecture?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, nobody in America wants to do anything exciting. It's all "GIANT GLASS BOX PLZ, OH AND BIG LETTERS" basically.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Well, the new building on 56 Leonard Street,NYC is a beauty.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just googled it, is that for real?!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow, do see my reply to you with a Google maps link? I see it in my comments but not in the post. Anyway look at street view. 33 Leonardstr

Yeah, they are growing at an absurd rate.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's very cool to watch. Just like most of our parents who saw the absurd growth of the USA. 21st century is gonna be fun.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's cooling off. I work in design and engineering so we deal a lot with Chinese factories. Other smaller countries are pulling some 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

2 of the steam out of China. They'll slow down as they approach the western levels of development. Africa is the next big boom I think.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The growth will go on at least 20/30 years and Africa indeed will be the next boom, guess who's invested in those countries in the last years

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah, China isn't dumb.
