7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Jeez that sounds like my first kidney stone. I had a dream I’d been hit by a car and I woke up with a horrible pain in my right kidney.

Milk Chocolate has more potassium than bananas.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes, I really want my house to slowly fill with the reek of farts, my cabin would become the house in UP.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is that really a leg cramp?! It looks more like a muscular disease

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I've never had a cramp that was visible like that.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Congrats on noticing. It's not a cramp, it's fasciculation aka uncontrolled activity of some parts of the muscle. It's not painful and 1/2

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

in a lot of cases you don't even feel it, but this is A LOT, so you feel it like that weird eye twitch you may get some time. Doesn't 2/3

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

have to be a disease, it can just be a nerve malfunction due to e. g. stress, mineral imbalances. I suck at numbering, sorry. 3/3

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Thanks, that makes a lot more sense to me than cramp, considering I have NEVER had a visible cramp... In any body part.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I watched the source video and it really sounds as if he's in pain, so it has to be a weird cramp. Check out @acommonmind commenting. 1/2

Notice how she's the only girl there.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Shouldn’t be a problem by the looks of it.

But it does transfer nut.

You’re right that’s protein ..the system works

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Or avocado, shit

7 years ago | Likes 166 Dislikes 2

I eat avacado shit like you for breakfast!

7 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

That’s probably why you can’t afford health insurance

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You know avacados are dirt cheap in the areas where they grow.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

you know he was (probably) trying to reference the "millenials could buy houses if they stopped eating avocado toast"

You eat avocado shit for breakfast?

What the fuck are you saying

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I think it means they like avocados. Avocados give them gas. They really enjoy farting.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honest question- what else works for cramps besides avocados and bananas? I’m allergic to latex protein.

7 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 1

drink some powerade or gatorade for electrolytes too

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

None of the "eat X" advice is actually true. Stay hydrated and don't drink excessive amounts of coffee. There's no 100% fix though.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pickle juice and lots of water work for me. I think bananas are gross, but I'm a runner...

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pears, anything with potassium. It's not going to stop it entirely, just helps. Just be careful about supplements, I'd talk to an expert

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Potatoes for magnesium. I hate bananas and had killer leg cramps when I was preggo

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Magnesium citrate. You get it as powder and put it in water, drink over the course of the day. 1 Tsp. If you get the runs, reduce amount.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Cut off legs

7 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 1

I believe dates are an even better source than bananas.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I haven't had one of those in years :(

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My soccer teammates relied on pickle juice and would take shots of it before a game

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sounds like a bunch of slavs

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's like drinking Gatorade without the sugar! Eww but also kinda tasty :D

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Salt and Vinegar Chips.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I suffer from leg cramps horribly...calcium, magnesium, zinc supplements helped me the most...I triple the recommended dose though....

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...as I sweat profusely during workouts, losing electrolytes.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oj, potatoes, dried apricots, consult your doctor for potassium and magnesium supplements

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cucumber and potatoes have a lot of Kalium in them. So both will help.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everyone talking about K and Mg; studies have NOT shown benefit for cramps. Quinine is actual treatment (eg in tonic water), just -

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

- be cautious as it can cause arrhythmia in large doses.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok, what are you mixing tonic water with that isn't gin because I would pass out drunk before that.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You might only need like a glass a day. And if you have cramps that bad, I really hope you’ve seen a neurologist about it.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OJ

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Neither have life-saving levels of potassium in them. My husband has Gitelman syndrome and takes huge pills of K and Mg to stay alive.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And that's got to be the same thing, right? Leg cramps and Gitelman Syndrome?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're EXTREMELY painful. He's gone into cardiac arrest because of it, too.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gitelman syndrome causes muscle cramps like this, yes.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

WHOOSH

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pickle juice, it starts working the moment it his your throat.

7 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

It's got a lot of minerals that the body likes

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ayyyyyy

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

: D

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Quinine, gin & tonic FTW

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Please do not randomly supplement potassium without any guidance or reason. That's how people die.

7 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 4

Your cramps are more likely to be related to dehydration. Drink more water

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 4

Shut up. Fucking alarmist aren't you.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

Uh, no... potassium overdose isn't hard to do.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

While you're not wrong, most people are not getting anywhere near the recommended amount and supplementing may help.

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

As an ICU RN, I concur.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

As a nephro rn I disagree. Lots of people running around with crappy kidneys that don't know about it. Find out what your levels are first

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

magnesium and potassium supplements

7 years ago | Likes 101 Dislikes 1

Props

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Been taking a shit ton of both lately. Let cramps every morning since.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sufficient water intake. Half your body weight in ounces. Calcium too if you don’t get enough.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I.E. no sodium table salt.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Magnesium got rid of my calf cramps and super tight achilles. It's good shit!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Huh, can’t believe I never thought of that lol. Ty

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Can get 2 in 1 specifically for this.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just FYI, magnesium absorbs better through the skin. Try a spray or cream instead of a pill.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I do bath salts it makes me feel great when I'm fasting

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

NoSalt is one of the safest potassium supplements. Sprinkle on food or in water. BE SURE TO MEASURE IT. Too much potassium is dangerous.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Too much potassium and your heart stops among other unpleasant things

Pain

7 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

Not really. Thats fasciculations, not a real cramp, if I'm not totally mistaken. Meaning: just some parts of the muscle are constricting 1/2

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

It sure sounds like he's in pain though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-kN2uofEz0

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's why I said "may", I've never seen a case like that before. In his case it may be that only parts of the muscle are cramping.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

without synchronisation. You may not even feel it, if it's not much. It's comparabla to that weird eye twitch a lot of people have sometime.

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I stand corrected. It IS a cramp, but it malfunctions like a fasciculation does. That guy is definitely in pain. Thanks @acommonmind!
