Afterlife was worse than the ladies' Ghostbusters
TrueLegateDamar
Olivia Wilde was pretty good as Gozer in the Afterlife movie

That was her? She looked just like the original, nice job!

Up until the late 90's I though Sheena Easton played the role of Gozer.
Sunflier
She had a small role recently as the Tarot Card Reader in "Knight of Cups"
LTSmasher001
Also in Body Double same year as Ghostbusters
cosonfused
She doesn't look a day over 8000

(seemingly) unpopular opinion: I actually liked Afterlife. It wasn't perfect, and that one product placement scene in the middle hurt alot--
and made no sense even in the context of the film, but overall I enjoyed it. It's at the very least no worse than GB2 which I also liked.
JasonThorn
The sound of the proton pack switching on gave me chills. That old, familiar sound...

But what follows after? Gozer won't go "O you're a God? Ok I'll leave then." I propose answering Yes" is no better than answering No"
pizzapartyhard
You shoot her with your unlicensed nuclear accelerator!

Maybe a little spoilery for the new movie: I really liked that callback.
my only dislike with that movie overall is that it was almost unafraid to do it's own thing backstory wise. and had to call back.
except everything GB related calls back to the first one, ignoring the second, and the cartoons, comics, etc. even if they aren't canon--
though the cartoons and comics really ought to be, I'll fightcha on that one.

Holy crap, she's from my country. Damn, I didn't knew that.

I credit this fine example with influencing my taste in women. Also, some questionable fashion choices I made in my teenage years.

Yes, it’s true, this man has no dick. Also the dick from the Die Hard franchise. Hollywood: We need a dick. Get William Atherton on the line

Jeez, what you did to Ivo...that was cold-blooded...

Apparently she originally delivered her own lines, but her strong accent made "Choose and perish!" come out like "Jews and berries!", >
Ivan Reitman decided to get a voice actor to do a v/o instead.

Man this film is perfection. The backstory and lore is insane but is so great for worldbuilding. They don't do that for films today...
ihateimgurffs
They do it. And better. Stop wearing rose tinted glasses. Ex: "Wick: Why don't you take the night off? Francis : Thank you, sir."
Ah yes, good counter example. But let's be honest, it's incredibly rare.
I loved the references; Tobin's Spirit Guide, "a focused, non-terminal, repeating phantasm or a class-five full-roaming vapor", Ivo Shandor
and all the other nonsense that's never explained in the movie, but stated so matter of factly as if we SHOULD know it.
The movie trusts itself to be funny enogh to carry it, and thinks it's audience is smart enough to absorb that stuff and not need explaining
