Wake up and fight back? ok, HOW exactly are we supposed to fight back? Voting? - worthless... standing around with a sigh... pointless.

Follow the money: political corruption is funded by the wealthy, backing whoever best serves their greedy interests.
Many of the wealthiest people pulled the strings to install this nightmare regime of chaos & terror.
Campaign finance violations, huge sums of dark money, election interference, media empires constantly propagandizing, & more/worse helped this disaster-in-chief barely (illegitimately) "win" 2 elections.
There was never a better-funded candidate/platform with more media coverage.

They want you to believe the hard laborer is the danger to our loved ones when the Donald Trump class is literally making it legal to be a pedophile and abduct your children

want to see where the oligarchs are trying to take the planet? look up Isaac Asimov's Spacer Worlds. minimal humans, maximum robots. not completely free of conflict but they think it's still optimum.

btw, it gets to the point they cannot even dress themselves because most of the buttons and fasteners are placed where the robots can reach them, not the wearer, and they don't ruin the aesthetics of the clothes.

Remember kids, the biggest type of theft in the USA, is wage theft by employers, not paying correctly and overtime issues. Have a great day.

Civil asset forfeiture has also surpassed categories like burglary and auto theft with $4.5 billion annually.

Also, corporations cannot have incarceration or the death penalty applied to them, so the only available punishments are economic, and thus just become a cost of running the business.

2 days ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I imagine corporate death would be like bankruptcy. Dissolve the company, sell off all assets to pay severance to displaced employees and provide job placement assistance.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One would wish, but curiously, "Citizens United" does not include this kind of punishments. Some states do have it, though.

Having abandoned the responsibilities that come with status as Delaware limited liability companies, Defendants must be forever denied the rights and privileges that also come with that status, and their certificates of formation must therefore be canceled.

It's not by "replacing your job with a robot" ... it's "by stealing all the money"...

2 days ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

It's both

First one, then the other.

Billionaires should not exist, agreed, but whenever anyone posts the "Immigrants are not taking your job" thing, I tell them to tell that to a truck driver, ANY truck driver, and see what they have to say about it. Not that I'm anti-immigrant, but that statement is just flat out wrong in so many ways. As to the robot part; if a robot can do the job better, than the robot should be doing it, including truck driving (i.e. my job). This is the whole process of tech advancement. I guess we could >

The immigrant ain't TAKING your job. It's the capitalist parasites GIVING it to them because it's cheaper than hiring you and they can skim more off the top. Put the blame where it belongs, neighbor.

2 days ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

And in what world do employers willingly hire the more expensive worker? If someone is willing to do the job for less, that's who is getting the job. It's very much like the "made in America" idea. People are all for it in theory, but when it comes to putting down the money they buy Chinese. But sure, if all you want to do is spout unreasoning hatred of capitalism, have at it.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

"Unreasoning hatred of capitalism" because there's someone more desperate out there and the parasites decide that they want more for themselves and less for anyone, so they'll take advantage?

And that's the little guy's fault, not the rich fuck at the top taking advantage of them *and* also ruining it for you?

Please tell me you're not serious.

still be using slide rules, pen & paper, and typewriters, but the advancement in tech has improved our lives immeasurability, and almost every advancement has made changes in the jobs people do. What would a car cost these days if we still used 60s tech to produce them? CNC machines cost a lot of machinists their jobs, but made many products affordable. If we ever hope to reach the point where no one has to work, machines will have to do the jobs that no one really wants.

While i agree with the parts about technological advancement. The whole problem is that we have no idea how to handle a society where most of the people don't need to work, or low qualification labour is being phased out. Our construct of society is severely lagging behind the pace of technological development and it shows.

Lets see how smug you are, when you are kicked out of you home in the name of "progress". Unless people start to fight for their rights, it is always just "the others and not me" who will be impoverished. "Schlesischer Weberaufstand 1844", read all about it and learn from history

2 days ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Hey I AM the guy losing his job to "progress". Why do do think I used the example of truck driving. And that's the 2nd time for me. I lost my first career to the invention of GPS and similar tech. I've BEEN there, and while I hated losing that job, I'd be the first to admit GPS is a damn good thing. Talk to me when YOUR job has been wiped out.

The moment my job will be taken over by AI, we are all doomed. I am a social worker, helping mentally ill patients. My job could become obsolete, if we build a better society for the weaker ones, which is not gonna happen. Instead we increase my workload by forcing more people out of work. Some get by, like you apparently and some break, like my clients.

https://siliconcanals.com/ had a article about being raised in the 60s that I thought hit the mark pretty well. I'd post the link, but it's too long. No idea if Siliconcanals is a reliable source, but I agreed with most of the points the article brought up. Basically we were raised to "suck it up". Good? Bad? A bit of both I think, but in the end, I think we handle adversity better than later generations.

9 people own more wealth than the bottom 50% of America. If those 9 people were on a plane and it crashed and they all died, the estate tax payout alone on those 9 people would represent the biggest tax revenue influx in history.

We need to tax the rich and close their fucking tax cuts.

2 days ago | Likes 117 Dislikes 1

Imagine if it was the Qatari plane?!

1 day ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Whilst that's a big number, think on this - those same 9 people own more wealth than around 40% of the population of earth.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A few years ago, I saw a study that showed the 2000 richest people on earth held enough wealth to end poverty all over the world 7 times over. They could literally give up 1/7th of their wealth and basically develop the entire planet into a 1st world standard of living with a roof over every head, food on every table, an education for everyone and a decent income for everyone. If they were equalized with everyone else, we could probably end all wars and unite the planet under a single government

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I heard cut the rich. *starts sharpening again*

2 days ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Sounds an awful lot like we need more plane crashes

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not to worry, soon enough these idiots will decide that they'll cut the engineering, safety and QA departments to the bone on the companies making their own private jets too so as to save a few more dollars on wages they can stuff into their own pockets, but won't be able to take with them to hell when they crash.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tax the rich? Sure, but I like your first idea better. The plane crash thing.

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

lets get them on a plane then!

2 days ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

It's statistically more likely it will be a space ship or submarine accident

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If only Epsitiens plane went down. That would of revitalized a dozen countries GDP.

1 day ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

SOOO PERVERTED:(

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We need to end the fucking rich. We have been ruled by rhe wealthy few for most of human history and its time we stopped that shit.

1 day ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That is particularly enlightening. It is incredibly easier for 9 men (even if self centered and narcissistic) to coordinate, than getting even 10% of the US population to coordinate. But man we are trying.

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The estate tax what? What’s that mean?

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The US has a tax on dead people's stuff being left as an inheritance. It only affects people with over 13.6 million dollars. And then it's 40% of the inheritance.

2 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Estate tax is progressive, just like income tax. Once an estate passes the threshold, tax applies. It starts at 18%, with the highest bracket being 40%. Only a fraction of the top 1% pay anything at all, with many ways to protect an estate from the tax. In 2024, total estate tax collected was $24B, or lest that one half of one percent of the $5T total tax collected.
