Was barely a week old, had a gangrene on one paw and had a broken leg.

Poor kitty hadn't even opened his eyes before he had to give up a paw.

The vet said it's really rare for calicos to be male. What a special boy indeed!

He's growing up super fast! So loving and cuddly too<3

Male calico, but still has 4 limbs! :D

Who the hell would throw such a cute little life in a dumpster someone needs to find this person and throw them in the dumpster....

That's a tough kitten to have lived through that.

it's super rare for calicos to be male because the gene is carried on the X chromosome! meaning he's not really male, he's a hermaphrodite!

Holy shit, you just FOUND a male calico? That is absolutely amazing. does he exhibit any other genetic abnormalities? asking because science

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

He was born sterile but vet said it's normal for male calicos to be sterile :) Other than that he's a normal happy kitty, healthy as a horse

How do calico breed if females are predominate

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the calico gene requires (usually) two X-chromosomes to be present for the trait to show.

Aight thnks

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You have a good heart to do that. Good luck with the floof!

You're in for a treat. I have an abandoned gutter kitten and he grew up to be the most affectionate and cute cat out of 4 cats.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wtf kind of sick fuck throws newborns of any species in a dumpster. Fuck that person.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Although I do agree that it's rly bad to do that, you're saying any species.. So what about an ant larve?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I guess there is a certain level of sentience and pain perception where I would cut it off. Not sure *where* exactly...but you see the idea

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's possible that the kitten was abandoned by its mother, or mother cat died.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's true.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks for saving a life. It sucks when any living thing is treated as disposal. I suspect he will be an awesome cat.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hope we'll get updates! :D

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's amazing. They almost never survive away from their mother at that age. Well done you!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good for you and your Aunt, OP! What's the little floof's name?

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

She named him Martyr. Think she thought it would be funny lol

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

So did u guys get to save his paw or no?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Naw heard kitten paws don't work as well as rabbit ones

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Did you mean save as in keep the paw intact on the kitten or keep the paw separate from the kitten?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Keep the paw intact.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

.... thought you meant saved like seperated too...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why the hell did I google gangrene ... next time take it on faith that its bad and you do not need to know everything...

9 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 1

As a nursing student I love to see all that nasty shit. Might as well see it now so I can know what it is later!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At least you can't smell it through the internet. I will never forget that smell my whole life.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Necrotic tissue basically. They probably needed to amputate his little footsie

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Aw man, sorry about that

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I had a fracture blister on my arm (don't Google that either) turned gangrenous and nearly lost my arm at 8 yrs old. Saved by skin graft.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can confirm, resist temptation. Gnarly rotting flesh, that's it.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Aw man. Yeah, that's one where even Wikipedia isn't safe. Maybe Dictionary.com?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

yeah. its bad. :(

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My husband just had his gall bladder taken out...Doc comes out...how long has he been sick? His gall bladder was gangrene! Hows that nugget?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank god they took it out when they did. That shit could've spread!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ya... We are still dealing with the aftermath!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lucky you're a blue-eyed blonde. You'll find someone else.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
