10 years is as good as you can get with english mastiffs unfortunately. My boy is about to turn 2 and I'm already sad :(

It's the sad truth about giant breed dogs. Such short lifespans. 10 years is a great run. 6-8 is "expected". I have 2 bullmastiffs. One is 8

I had a golden retriever and a chessepeak bay retriever that lived to 15 and 16. They were the best dogs.

I have a golden, had 3. Once their hips went at age ~14 and couldn’t walk anymore it was time. So sad carrying them into the vet
