It’s all in the details!

..& since I’m about 300 points from Glorious notoriety, have some Fairlady goodness.

Pictured on a snowy roads, where you should never drive a Z-car.

My grandpa recently told me I'll inherit his original 1972 240z. Any recommendations for good z communities to join?Things to watch out for?

I fucking love this car.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mmm hmmm! Noice

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now put it back on the flatbed trailer and bring it home, cause it’s horrible in the snow

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

With LSD i think it would be a blast! Especially when you hit those trees.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

still a Beautiful Ride

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All that resto work, and you drive it in snow, what a waste. ?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I will ALWAYS your a 240Z. My dad had one of the first imported ones. I wished we'd been able to keep it.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn autocorrect: I will ALWAYS upvote as 240Z!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had a 280z. Was never in this nice condition. Makes me wish I still it.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My dad had one of these. Then my step mother smashed it to bits with an axe because he was going to sell it to my mum.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Story time...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thats pretty much it. She's a psycho and didn't like that my dad was selling it cheaply to my mum. They're still together believe it or not.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What kind of a man can tolerate that

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@OP Buying one of these soon, cant wait to start building it, will most likely make a post about it

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

they ued to be so cheap till a maginze fetured one and bam triple the asking price

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good luck with finding parts! Hard to come by and expensive. Hopefully you can fabricate well.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

been doing that since i was 5 im 26 now

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The money is strong with this one.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's a facsimile, it's not a genuine Datsun. Very inexpensive.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't understand this comment

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How much, you reckin'?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Reckon

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends how much work the owner did vs how much was was farmed out. Doing work yourself can gets proj like this done for a reasonable amount

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I so miss my 72 240z, thank you for sharing this.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have a story about a 240Z. A few years ago, I went to my wife’s grandmother’s 90th birthday party. While there, I sat at a table with...

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

with an uncle and my FIL. The uncle (Mike) told me this story about this 240z he bought and how it was his favorite car. Mike died a year...

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

later from cancer. Sometime after he died, I was at a grocery store and stopped by the hot wheels section for my 2yo son. I saw a 240z...

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

thought of Mike and smiled but told myself i would get it next time. My wife ends up going to the grocery store that same day and randomly..

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gets the car. Wife had no idea mike loved 240zs. I thought that itself was interesting. Either way, I texted the picture of it to my MIL...

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

and told her that it was Mike’s favorite car and she texted back “Thanks, this means a lot. Today is the 1yr anniversary of Mike’s death”...

That engine organization is clean as fuck. Bold. Organized.

7 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 1

Glad to see it is not an ls1 swap

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hard piped coolant hoses tho? The little movement those little silicone couplers give it surely can't be enough if an engine mount gets slop

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Urethane engine and transmission mounts to help transfer torque through the driveline betterer

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

yea, but they dont last forever... the hard coolant pipe just seems like a bad idea with 0 advantages....

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Clean 240 with an RB in it. Now I need new pants, thanks...

7 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 0

What's an RB?

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Model series for the engine, Nissan made a few different ones

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Real boner

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Engine drone a different Nissan. Only motor heads and/or fanboys care or want to know, generally.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 10

yeah... the same guys that would want a 40+ year old nissans...

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Skyline engine

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

wait is that a mf RB26DET ?? that would be so insane in such a light chassis

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

MCM on YouTube has one that makes 450 hp (i think). Apparently stupid fun and terrifying on track. Def makes me qant one

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You watch Mighty Car Mods?

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Nope, I’ll check it out though.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It’s an Australian YouTube series. They recently did a rb conversion on a 240 they bought from Japan.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Carve out some time. Especially for their recent 2 part, almost 4 hour long movie about their trip to Japan.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Love that sort of thing, I’m in!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Love me some race seats with no head support.

7 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 5

I don't understand those seats. If you're actually sat in it how do your feet hit the pedals and your knees not hit the wheel?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm 5'7", this has never been an issue.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Step 1, be a small Japanese person

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Ergonomically they're not too different from stock seats I think.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stock seats normally have the angle of the bit you sit on more in parallel with the bottom of the car I think.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've been thinking about something like those for my e30

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

If you plan on racing it, don't get seats with no head support. It a good way to end up with a broken neck.

7 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Getting rear ended in traffic by some idiot on their phone is more likely.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I was racing I'd have a HANS seat

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or hope you don't get rear ended too hard..

Whiplash used to be a thing with older cars. I wonder how bad it actually is? I think it needs to be severe to actually kill a person.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No just die or worse live in a wheel chair for the rest of your days.
