After his wife left him to raise 2 kids on his own, he still busted his ass as a single dad and full time military and student. He had to finish up his thesis via zoom meeting and they canceled his grad ceremony. Wish we could have been there brother, so proud of you.

FP edit: thanks so much for the support and live. He's a good dude, that got dealt a shitty hand and this is the first big moment since his life goals and dreams went in another direction a couple years ago.

Alumnus here! Congrats to your brother.

Many commanders have relaxed hair standards for now.

Does he take his kids with him when he’s deployed?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean all that effort with masks but they still couldn't keep 6 foot away from each other? Why bother?

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

You beat me to it

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Says the nonner

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As someone that was in the navy for 10 years and stationed on multiple joint bases, chair force is an office job with semi-mandatory PT.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Their living conditions are the best of all the branches, their galleys have the best food...basically an office job.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So everyone smart enough to join the Air Force gets put down? All the maintainers, security forces, munitions technicians, fire fighters...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Hey I go to school there

6 years ago | Likes 140 Dislikes 1

Do you mean the drive thru? I thought you meant you went to school at a drive through. I thought it was a funny joke! ?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I just graduated! Hello fellow AF nerd

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Congrats! You'll miss out on AFIT 2.0, the online version... #AFnerdlife

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I like AFIT, has Great instructors.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So glad I don’t have to deal with that.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I finished my Masters I went straight to my PhD so I never bothered with the ceremony and kinda neglected to tell my old university 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 5

Should have got the drive thru

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

anything. I forgot about it until a courier showed up at my new office with my degree - apparently they spent some effort finding me. 2/2

6 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 3

I graduated in Aug. so there was no commencement, & 2.5 years later I still haven't done the online exit counseling to get my paper diploma.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In what field did you earn you PhD?

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

aero engg

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hope you engineer with mechs in mind! Not the easiest field well done on your achievement!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know how to make eggs fly?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ohh dang son, well done. I’m no idiot, but engineering, physics, math.... still way over my head

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

After working on my masters degree I have gained mad respect for the PhD

6 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

It was a great/terrible experience, and the best/worst time of my life. If I could do it all over again, I would/would not do it the same.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Is this a choose your own adventure?

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Naaa it's just Schrodingers PhD

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but one of those really bad ones where they all lead to the same ending because choice is an illusion ^_^

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You are the kind of person that only thinks about themselves. Bet the farm you are not even working it the field they got their degree in.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 27

My degree is in aerospace engineering. I am currently a professor of aerospace engineering, and a part-time curator at an aviation museum.

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

(The curatorial position is a part-time, voluntary thing - mostly included just in response to thinking only for myself)

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Oooh Look at me, I do extra shit that i think matters. Look dickbreath, you have a trivial job. It only matters to a select few.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 16

Perhaps you should spend more time doing your fucking job than viewing memes.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 27

At 10:00 PM on a Friday?

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Hey, quit being a dick.
