9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Every time I see bagpipes I always think of that "hhhHRRRRRRRRR" noise and it makes me laugh.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I call it the mating call of the Scottish Moose. I don't know why it makes non pipers laugh but it does.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fergus? Fergus.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why is the dudes in the background killing the other dude with a huge wooden stake? Did he come in last? Or is it more of a struggle cuddle?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Way to lay some pipe!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Learning to pipe is on my bucket list!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You've definitely got that piper face down!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aye haha I was also trying to not lose focus when my bandmate started taking pictures. I wasn't happy in that moment.

"A gentleman is any man who can play the bagpipes but doesn't."

"The bagpipes is an instrument best enjoyed over a body of water. The atlantic ocean does nicely."

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

(Kidding though, I actually enjoy well played bagpipe music)

The song of my people

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a musician who's learned guitar, bass and drums. Pipes were fucking hard as hell and frustrating to learn. I haven't played in years tho.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you have an instructor? It's one of the few instruments you really can't self teach.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My grandfather who is still in a pipe band and my uncle.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Excellent

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dammit, I like bagpipes!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm a snare drummer for my local highschool. I have never placed. Congrats!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

North Carolina sadly.

AHAHHAA +1

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can't stand the music but I do admire the skill. Actually the older I get the better it sounds.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would ask if you've ever truly listened to *good* bagpipe music. Although I've found that still doesn't help some people.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes I have. It's still not my favorite but it sort of grows on you the more you hear. I prefer bagpipes over Chinese opera. Does that help?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why aren't mini kilts a thing yet??!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They are. They so are. Omg the minikilts.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You look absolutely awesome. Congrats!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks! :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a fellow piper, rock on!

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Yo showin up to represent BCPA. On my way to the Worlds tomorrow

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fucking ace brother, good pipes and good tuning to yas!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Stephen Fry leads me to believe that many pipers eventually go on to suffer from tinnitus. Any comment about that?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes. But I already had it. I've had some frequency loss but I already had congenital loss before that. I have some awesome earplugs though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a fellow WUSPBA piper, rock on!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah brother! +1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cheers from the MWPBA!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hell yeah! +1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whoah, that was quick fellow piping bro! +1 Wouldn't happen to be in EUSPBA band would you?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Nah, just we're a street band. Certain members are just too grumpy to compete, heh.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For shame. That's how you get better!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My dad was a drummer in a pipe band, mom did sword dancing. Her current husband was the pipe major. Congrats and keep it up.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Thanks! +1 :) I just started Fling and Sword actually. I want to know what's going on in the dancers' heads when I play for them in future.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm assuming '1 2 3 4, 1 2 2 d'oh' But I could be wrong

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Something like that. I'm seeing a different side of the coin. They don't understand us any more than we them it seems.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's possible. I remember watching my mom when I was younger. good memories. Same with watching my dad on the practice kit writing music.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, it's a bit of confusion and differences on both ends. Am a Dancer from Aus and competing regularly. Great to see this stuff on Imgur!!

A lady walks up to a Scotsman wearing a kilt and asks "Is it true that you don't wear anything underneath that?" the Scotsman replies (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Aye it's true, would you like a look?" so the lady lifts up the kilt and exclaims "that's gruesome" the Scotsman says (2/3)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Look again I think it grue-some more" (3/3)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh dear hahaha

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On to the real question... what's under da kilt, ya tease?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My other beard

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

another memorable response is "10 lbs of swingin' thunder!"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Show me a gif of you eating big bowl of HAGGIS then I will be impressed.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haggis tends to come on plates haha. It's pretty good.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pfft next you will be telling me people enjoy eating tubes of ground up pig anus's, chicken intestines and cow nut sacks, IE, hotdogs.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I prefer them on sticks covered with fried cornbread.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

bagpipes are great after they've warmed up, but that warm up is bad enough to kill small animals at a short range

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had an amazing warm up though. Got Very Goods for my drones and chanter balance. I was so happy.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

im Biased since my brother tried to learn how, and i nearly strangled him to death after one weekend, he now plays a sax is excellent at it

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah your first few months learning to tune can be awful. Did he have an instructor? Seems like a lot of pipers played sax - I did!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yes he did but it didn't help, he explains that its saxier (i tried to kill him again) but i play the piano and guitar so we called it even

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Know why they call it a kilt? 'Cause they kilt the guy who called it a skirt.

Id do you, no homo. And if you want to wear a skirt some days thats fine too :P.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Actually it's a belted plaid feile mor or breacan feile . A kilt is a tailored garment known in Gaelic as feile beag which got pop in 1700s.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's worn beneath? Shoes commonly. Although lately I've found Chacos are amazing.

9 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 1

You're welcome to look, but you have to kiss what you find.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I wear lipstick under my kilt

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

The only thing a true Scot wears beneath his kilt is lipstick, on a good day, multiple shades

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If your cock ain't dangling under your kilt your wearing it like an Douche unless you have a small one then it a funny thong with

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A bit of stuffing

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also lots of knives right?

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

2-3 commonly if im getting my history right

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My assumption exactly

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just one. A Sgian Dubh, tucked into your sock, or kept in your Sporran.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I bought my girlfriend the modern version of one (holdout3 fully serrated)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
