Me after waking up in my lovely hospital gown.

This is how much I weighed going into the hospital. The smallest I've been in awhile.

The flowers I received from some family :)

Here's the gourmet breakfast they served me. This is one of the few meals I was actually able to eat all of.

I had an epidural the first few days, so I wasn't allowed to walk.

Friday morning I had a surgery to remove a large mass in my lower abdomen. The game plan going in was to remove the mass and my right ovary. After my doctors cut me open, however, they discovered 4 more masses. The masses all turned out to be endometrioma's and because of this they were able to leave my right ovary! They ended up removing 3 of the masses and cauterizing the last 2.

If you want to see what the large mass looked like here's a picture of it --- WARNING -- There is blood. Don't look if you're squeamish. http://imgur.com/qRzkEZu

just wanted to say.... You're a beautiful young woman. Sorry to interrupt the post......

Holy shit OP, you're hardcore! Marry me.

Be strong. The difficult part is over. In my country, we say: "be iron woman now!"

You're super pretty though. If that helps.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Endometriosis is a bitch. I'm glad the mass was removed and you're recovering safely.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mmmmm that mass can use some fava beans on the side.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Grats on the mass removals. And Grats on being super pretty even after just waking up in a hospital gown!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Omg the same thing happened to me when I was 18. Mine weighed 5 kilos. Was pretty terrifying. Glad you are ok. Get well soon.

That is not a mass that is a small child

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Anyways, glad you're better now.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Am I the only one curious on how much you weigh now? We have a before picture.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't actually know how much I currently weigh. But I have been eating and my abdomen is swollen so I probably weigh around the same.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hope you feel better than ever when you heal up

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought this was going to be a joke about having a baby. Clicked the "large mass" picture. Still not t00% it's not a baby.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice baby

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How much of that 102 lbs was due to the masses in your abdomen?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure. I never found out how much the masses weighed. They were filled with fluid, so I'm guessing they didn't weigh much.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm going to guess 12-16 oz and go with about a pound. Which is about 1% of your overall weight. So you've got 99% but a 1% mass isn't one.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I had a 19cm cyst that rutured removed in April. Feel better and speedy recovery!

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Congrats on winning. Hope they never come back. That is one large chunk of mass-like stuff.

10 years ago | Likes 496 Dislikes 3

That is actually quite impressive feel better soon! A friend of mine had to get a mass removed and it took a while to recover.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

It's like a Flood spore. *shivers*

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

How does it get that big? I mean, you'd think the person would notice it quickly and that the diagnostic and surgery would come quickly too

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You couldn't see it by looking at me and my only real symptom was occasional pressure in my lower abdomen. They found it with an ultrasound.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like a baby! How much did your tumor baby weigh? You only felt some pressure, no pain? How come? That's more than a fist-size lump!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have no clue how much it weighed. And I mean the pressure caused me a bit of pain but it wasn't an extremely intense unmanageable pain.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Saw this in random. My best friend had something very similar. Went in for a cyst removal, came out with a removed mass of cancer.

Hey @OP... you want a new large mass in your lower abdomen?! http://imgur.com/7b69zD0

Heyooooooooooooo!!

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

how big is that? where's the banana?!

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately they don't use bananas in operating rooms :( But it's about 13cm in diameter.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

fuck! … if you were an oyster that would be the biggest pearl EVER! and by a LOT!! [17.4 mm]

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

maybe it's just a hairball from your katness =\

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I have to undergo the same thing in a few weeks. What's your recovery supposed to be like? I can't afford to miss much work... :(

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was in the hospital for 4 days and now I'm allowed to go back to work/class but I have to take it slow and I can't lift over 15lbs.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That sounds totally doable! Glad you got to keep your important bits. I have a 17cm "complex", hope they can save one ovary at least.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm happy that they ended up not having to take it. That was what I was most scared about. And I wish you the best with your surgery!

I was told if it gets really bad in my 30's that my uterus might be removed, and I would have to take sh*t loads of hormones to combat it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The internet is your friend. If you're in the uk check out the endometriosis trust. If you ever wanna chat pm me.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People tell me I'm crazy all the time when I say that. I'll take the hot flashes over the wanting to die two weeks a month.

i have really bad pms probably pmdd and my periods are miserable and always 7 days.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've been in a chemically induced menopause twice, the 2nd time with HRT, while it's terrible, there's considerably less morphine involved.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How did you find out about the large mass? I'm worried there's something wrong with my abdomen because I'm having issues losing weight 1/

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

and it feels really firm, which isn't really how fat feels. 2/2

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was having pains in my abdomen, nothing too painful just a lot of pressure. Until last month, it was bad enough that I went to the ER

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But the doctor pointed out I could feel it from the outside. And it did feel really firm like a tense muscle.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for your response! I'll have to get my ovaries checked out soon anyway, since sometimes the cramps are so bad. 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Either way I hope you make a really great recovery! I'm rootin for ya girly!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hope everything goes well for you!!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Were they able to do a scan to see the mass? I have endo too, and have been having pressure/pain on my left side on and off for a while :/

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They found mine with ultrasound, but they're not always able to with endometriosis.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's such a pesky disease!! I don't wanna have surgery again :'( I hope you have a speedy recovery :)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get well soon. How much ddi you weigh after all the stuff was removed?

10 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 1

I'm not sure. I haven't seen how much I weigh now and I'm not sure how much the masses weighed.

10 years ago | Likes 95 Dislikes 0

How tall are you? And did you have a noticeable bulge or did the endometriomas just compress your organs? (or both?)

10 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I'm 5'4. And it just compressed my organs. You couldn't tell by looking at me that there was a mass.

10 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

102 lbs at 5'4" scares me, but then again you probably haven't been able to eat properly in months if not years :(

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

I actually eat quite a bit. I only weighed 102 before the surgery because of the prep I had to do. My normal weight is closer to 107-110.

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

do you feel any differences now that they are gone.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

A friend's daughter just had a surgery last month for the same thing.Apparently her mass was the size of a basketball.how you are doing well

10 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

How common is surgery to remove endometriosis masses?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

By the sounds of it, more common than I was aware.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From what I've find out the last few days, I agree. Except it always comes back. So you just continuously get sliced open.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yaaaaaaaayyy. ....oh wait. Thankfully the gallbladder only needs to come out once unless you have complications

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ha ha right? same with appendix

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

WOW. Wife had to have the same thing done, and I thought her softball of a cyst was large.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

My aunt had a tumor removed that was over 30 pounds. I can't even imagine having something like that in my body.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can't even conceive that. I mean, that's how much weight you gain at full term pregnancy. To have it all localized in one place?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She is a very large woman. At least 350+ pounds. So I'm not sure how much she really noticed.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was shocked when I learned the size. How the hell do people survive that kind of thing

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

's like how they survive a baby.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that's true. our female bodies do weird things. I personally don't trust mine

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well, statistically, some parts want to give you cancer. I get prostate and colon. :( If I were into pegging or gay, this would be more fun.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

OMG you weren't even CLOSE to overstating when you said "large". Grats on the weight loss, hon! And enjoy the guilt-free binging :D

10 years ago | Likes 470 Dislikes 3

yea holy shit they shouldve said boulders.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Jawdroppingly dumbfounded. That is massive!

i need a banana

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

OP needs a banana too from the sounds of it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That sucker was HUGE! Didn't expect that size!

10 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

I agree that thing was impressive.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And that's only one

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'm scared to look...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not all that bad, honestly. Not a lot of blood or anything gruesome.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't really wanna look but you've piqued my curiosity enough that I may have to. :(

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If it's something that bothers you, don't. Just know that it's roughly the size of a baby.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

ya its not something that would be the end of the world if I saw it but I'd likely rather not. thats why it's tempting cause its on the edge

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Then I'll tell you as I tell my gf: just don't. The description was clear enough.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

there's blood, but not gore, if that means anything to you.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would say a man's fist and a half not quite a baby. Still considerably large. It isn't life changing to see.
