Nothing says, "I have a professional career" like purple and blue hair.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I have a professional career and purple hair so suck it

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Much better dry. Never thought id ever say that.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fantastic!

You went from Juggalo moneyshot to real-life Anime.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Typical comment about how it only looks good for a week

9 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

I used to do this to my hair and beard. Would need to repeat every 4 or so weeks. Did it myself so would usually bleach the roots 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

& just randomly add the colour on top. Towards the end I just bleached everything. I have very dark hair & it was a lot of work. 2/2

I demand to interface with the Organizer

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I'd love to do this, but lightening my stark black hair to this level would destroy it to the point I'd have to shave my head :(

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This looks like Guy Tang's work!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah i've struggled with finding gainful employment too

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I get dye jobs like this & have full time employment in a professional setting

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

I want a pic of a few months later when it's faded. I could never handle that much maintenance.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

This isn't her hair, but it's similar colours at ~2 months of fade: https://imgur.com/q8QuVyj

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

sometimes the colors will look even better after fading source: my awesome faded purple and pink

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It's cool of done right. Shame most people are terrible.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 3

Most people do it at home without a lot of prior knowledge, this person was smart and went to a specialist ( or is a specialist ). :P

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

But how do you rinse it without mixing the colors? Or washing?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cold water

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And hair color protecting shampoo

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How does wet purple dye sitting on top of lighter wet blue dye not bleed onto each other?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The dyes are surface dyes so they take time to dye...so the mixing that'd happen during rinsing isn't enough to really change anything.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There was probably tinfoil wrapped around each strand that they took off only right before the foto. And after the foto they rinsed the dye.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

*washes out three days later*

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like something straight off tumblr fashion

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 17

If tumblr is the only thing you associate with dyed hair you will not enjoy Berkeley. Or San Francisco. Really, anywhere in the CA Bay Area

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 11

There's hair dyed unnatural colors and then there's tumblr. This falls under Tumblr

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 11

I think it falls under "looks really cool but a bitch to maintain". Nothing to do with tumblr, don't pigeonhole people.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Explains why majority of the people you ever see with this are the Tumblr dykes

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I call it the "switching majors".

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'll have the rainbow sherbet

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I did something similar last year. It was impossible to maintain & looked like shit in less than a month. But it was pretty while it lasted.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"My head looks like the floor after a rave!" says the client. Just wait," the hairdresser replies.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

I don't see vomit of kids who ODd anywhere in this post.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I was worried in the beginning. Now I'm not.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How much would something like this cost?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably start @ $150 depending on the stylist

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I was thinking much much more-that's not bad

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

also depends on how much hair you have and if it has been processed before

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm getting a blue ombre done at the end of the month professionally and my girl told me it'd be $160

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love the colors and I would love to do something like this, but I hate how the blue fades to a sort of greenish color

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I had a blue that faded into pink. It was weird.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Otherwise, I'd actually like to get my hair done like this

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My roommate in college had dyed blue hair and it would fade to this pale blondish-green. Not a fan of the way it fades

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've done some crazy shit with my hair, it's only a matter of time until I do this. Not exactly this though, looks too pony. But similar.

9 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 13

If you do, post a pic of it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll try to remember to show you, but I don't think I'd post it to user sub :b

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stay golden Pony...girl?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's no way this can be upkept. No one would be able to find the exact lines of each color. I only have 2 colors & it takes forever & $$$

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

You realize people have dyed their hair crazy colors before MLP. Dem hair dye hipsters.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

sure, but nowadays using those colors looks like ponies, which is why I wouldn't do it now.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

God I want to do crazy colors with my hair but I am not looking forward to the massive bleach damage it will cause.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

True. I rarely do things that require bleach, but without the bleach, it fades muuuuch quicker. But yeah I don't like damaging it too much

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My hair is super dark so you can't even see it if I don't bleach it first.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

:/ the struggle. My hair is faily light. My sister is straight up blonde so she can do soooo much

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's why I don't. My hair is fine, soft, and very dark. I'm sure the bleach would wreck it. But pretty colors tho. :(

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I agree. I look at pictures sometimes and just sigh. One day I'll do it just because I have to at least once. Maybe when I'm gray lol

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I use Henna on my hair, because it's good for it. But I'm also blond so it shows up really well.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Don't put bleach on it now that you've hennaed it. Smoke mike be the outcome as the chemical reaction could set your hair on fire.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah I've heard that I don't plan on using any chemicals on it ever my hair would probably fall out anyway if I ever bleached it henna or no

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Waaaay too pony. Das some brony shit

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 17

Hmm CALLING @vlexiswantstorapeponies he'll tell us

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

yeah exactly. It took me a minute to realize why I didn't like the colors and then I realized.... I would do something with red 5 sure

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

I wish I could do some crazy shit with my hair :|

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

you can! do eeeeeht

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Dudes don't get to get away with quite as much cool shit chicks do

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

ohh I see. Just live vicariously through me then :b

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

That's what I tend to do lol

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Too Pony? Why do you say that like it's a bad thing.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 24

You should go to therapy

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 12

Found the Brony

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 6

the maintenance on this kind of dye job must be insane...

9 years ago | Likes 427 Dislikes 2

considering it was probably done by some redneck named Wanda to some girl with daddy issues, i doubt it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

and in a week it will look like shit

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

Colors like this fade to ugly in 2-3 weeks. No one is every going to find the lines here again to re-do it. This is a one-time expensive do.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 7

I got my purple to last a month if I used sulfite-free shampoo & rinsed in Cold water. Sticks better after a year of the same color too.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I have gorgeous long curly hair, for a man, and I can't imagine doing anything to damage it since I don't style it as it is

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have something similar- you wash very quickly with ice cold water and colour safe shampoo. Touch ups are a bitch.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Getting it blonde enough is the hardest part. A lot of times these are all day projects

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Basically monthly.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Seen crazier:

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 16

Oh no! Well done cosplays of a genre I don't like! Must. Downvote. Now!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

Aren't those cosplays of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Are those not wigs?

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

They are, potentially from Arda wigs if I had to guess.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nope.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 12

yeah, they're wigs.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They definitely are, look at the scalp (or the lack thereof) and the hair parting to hide it.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Context: Top hair stylists suggest wrapping your head in cellophane with wet skittles for 2 hours. The food dye lasts longer.

9 years ago | Likes 208 Dislikes 5

You almost had me

9 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 1

Had me until i read this comment

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

I was saved from a most embarrassing mistake...

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Although, I want skittles now

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is almost exactly how I have my hair and I have to redo it every 5 weeks or so. Not too bad really.

9 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 0

post a pic

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Not sure that would add much, you won't be able to tell how much maintenance it needs from that :D

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

But it will show how well maintained it is! (also I just love looking at pictures of pretty dyed hair)

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Haha, fair enough. Well when I said "almost exactly", instead of a pale blue and a pale green I use a deeper blue and a turquoise:

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I've been rainbow colors and just "natural" red. My natural red always comes out faster.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Henna ftw.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Red will always come out faster than other colors because it is a large dye molecule.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My stylist told me this this weekend, and about how that's why it requires more ammonia, and I was fascinated.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. My sister told me that. I just thought it was weird because I already had an orange tint due to mineral build up in our water.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How much does it cost?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I use 4 different dyes. Each tub costs less than £3 and does 3-4 applications per tub. I also had to bleach my hair to start (£7)...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

... and I bleach my roots with every new application (using half a kit every time, so £3.50 average per application)...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

brushes/bowls cost about £1 per set ages ago, conditioner to dilute the dye is also £1 every 3 applications or so. Plus tinfoil & clingfilm.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you use permanent, semi or vegetable colours for the colours?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I use semi-permanent conditioning dye (La Riche Directions is my favourite colour)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

sorry, is my favourite dye* haha

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i'm a pravana user. my hair is kind of like this right now too.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a similar dye job, its really not hard to keep up.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Expensive?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My mother is a hairdresser, so not particularly.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Im at work at the moment, but i will post one later this afternoon.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, can we see?

If I hadn't chopped it all off a year ago.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fair enough. I forgot.
