@op is #1 a note 7?

Nope! Video was made before the Note 7 was released.

Was it a predecessor?

Might have been. He never explains it in the video.

I made a railgun once. Pretty easy, really. You can do it with a 9volt and some aluminum foil.

You get an upvote just for calling it "hot snot" :)

I think I picked that term up from Ben Heckendorn :)

Who, I'm sure, picked it up from Dave Jones at EEVBlog.

That would have been my second guess.. and is more likely :)

okay, what the hell is wrong with that guy?

i loved closing the oblivion gates ... send me to another.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

He's a smart guy who tries to teach you something while he tries to be funny.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Sounds like everyone's favorite teacher in school

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

cant tell if clever editing and acting or not. dude reminds me of charlie Chaplin with Wats

9 years ago | Likes 434 Dislikes 4

Charlie chaplin with a displaces stache

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All intentional. He shows the dumb thing first, then the smart thing. His vids are pretty educational and quite funny.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Oh im pretty sure he's really doing this stuff.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

(Surprised no one has said this yet) It's fake, he admitted and explain how in one of his videos. To promote safety.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He does it on purpose. He is an engineer.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He knows how to make it look more shocking than it really is.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Falling trying to loosen lug nuts was fake.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's stunt acting, kicking his own ass with electricity on purpose to show you what not to do.

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Definitely both.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's intentionally sloppy to demonstrate what will happen. His videos are very good if you want to learn about electricity and electronics

9 years ago | Likes 404 Dislikes 1

Thank you! I honestly was wondering why he was always so unprepared for fire.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Great Scott! Is another wonderful electronics channel, not as silly but dude builds some crazy shit and has a neato accent

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but he's got kids, most electricians get heart problems later on after occasionally getting shocked, him though? I dunno, I dunno.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I agree. His videos are some of the funniest I've seen. I love the mustache removal ones:

9 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

*quick jump cut to Saddam Hussein*

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some of them are faked (the guitar is one), others are genuine.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

True but he only. fakes it when he touches mains ac.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It's one thing to get hurt on camera for laughs, but another to die.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

he doesn't fake it. he said he touched mains in Pakistan (230V) many times and compared to that Canada's 120V is nothing

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I thought they always said "it's the Hertz that hurts"? Within limits, of course, but 120 and 240 are still on the same order of magnitude.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

what I said was true. he fakes it on camera, he touched that before by accident - he's not an idiot so don't make him look by one.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

you can go on the electric guitar one and see the photo shopping and fake sparks if you freeze frame the main bit. case closed. he's great.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And nobody would dare to lie on the Internet?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've got no idea what 120v feels like but I've touched 230v several times in NZ and it hits so hard it's crazy.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ain't the volts that get you. It's the amps. You can have literally millions of volts passing through you with low amps and you'll be fine.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That tree he made out of hot glue is actually quite impressive.

Shh.. Slowly break it to him

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Is this guy hurting himself on purpose for more youtube views?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

It's his clever way of demonstrating what NOT to do.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

yes

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Do research

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

what kind ? how would you like for me to research my " yes" comment ? or are you telling me i need to research this dumbass' videos ?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

You know actual know the reason he does it and not assume because when you assume it makes an ass out of you and me

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

if you could reword your sentence so that i can understand the beginning there that'd be great.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

i can tell that some of these seem accidental (he's an idiot) and there are a few here that are no doubt on purpose (the tire iron)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

His home made electric guitar one is the best.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait who is this, I feel left out.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He makes youtube videos, his name is ElectroBoom. A few times he's made me laugh but is not always my type of humor.

Important to note that this segment wasn't actually real. Doing something like this could be suicide.

9 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 1

Except the current only passe through is fingers. So... painful but armless.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If your arm contracts over the guitar or you end up dropping it on your chest you might have a problem.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

indeed, or if he's touching something grouded, outside the camera. Still, i have tested light socked like that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The number of people who think he is just an idiot is ridiculous.

9 years ago | Likes 233 Dislikes 4

Well.. if he WAS an idiot.. he'd be dead.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Well the one where he set his mouth on fire did make me question his intelligence.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

that's the problem when half a million people expect you to hurt yourself in different and creative ways!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

100% sure he is an electrical engineer, 70% sure he has a Masters degree in the area.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Yeah. I'm pretty sure he's mentioned his masters. He has the kind of intelligence that just naturally spills out when he talks.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That, and my EE professor claimed to have known him when they were in Uni. Loved to show his videos when introducing new (relevant) topics.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's awesome. He's one of the few youtubers that I actually want to meet.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It takes intelligence to make yourself look like an idiot without killing yourself.

9 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 1

Like Bear Grylls.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He reminds me of the about eating food in the wild. You have to be beyond confidant in your knowledge to even consider it.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

of the old adage*

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

people questioning his engineering skills is the funniest, Iranians tend to study hard.

9 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 5

He's an Iranian-Canadian tho?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

my meaning was more that he's originally from iran - culturally they're all engineers and good ones.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Engineers... Tend to study hard.

9 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 1

In engineering - not really, lots of people in engineering school because their parents pushed them.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Sure, engineering school. Then they burn out.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Try getting through engineering without any drive.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But generally speaking you're right, compared to other subjects, engineers study very hard. It was this way at my university anyway.
