I’m not the biggest Catan fan but this is a very nice set

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I thought it was all about the cones

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Someone actually knows how to play settlers of Catan?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I am not a fan of the game, but that is a beautiful set!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sooo, are you selling these?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm very tired, at first I thought you wrote the trading ports were made of cheese

Maple base

I want this in my life so badly

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is awesome!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

thanks! :)

I bothers me that the land around the sheep isn't green.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Our fine german export, hee hee!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nice! dingus comment, not a huge fan of the bricks. the other tiles show the natural state instead of processed, trees vs lumber, etc.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

also, bricks as a geometric pattern fight the organic look of everything else. rectangles inside hexes aren't my fave. great work though!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What was the math like for this? Cause while the base game can work for a general start, the interlocking elements would take some effort.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Beautiful! You're an amazing artist and this is a masterpiece!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@erm92 sick

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have wood for your sheep. Wana trade?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those desert tiles are pretty poplar now days

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...wood never have guessed

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where is this from? Looks familiar.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's about the cones

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel like if you kickstarted this you would be able to easily mass produce with some effort and if not make a huge profit, have fun.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure how I could do that without getting into legal trouble with the creators of Catan

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or not and not have that worry in the back if your head if it was something you could have done.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wood for sheep!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You used some nice wood there

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thanks! One of my goals was unique wood to easily distinguish the resources

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I went by a distributer a couple weeks ago and got 2 pallets of Babinga 4' cut offs (4/4 to 8/4) for free. Slight twists and cracks (1/2)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ill take it though. Every used it? Its been hard i my planer

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Bubinga is pretty, but insanely hard. Easy to burn when sanding.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The air powered sander handled it much better than the electric one, and once sealed, the grain expression was really delicate

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Glad to hear it! Pneumatic tools are fantastic. Need to invest in an air sander :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I want to buy this

8 years ago | Likes 158 Dislikes 0

How much would you be willing to pay for something like this?

8 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

Are you even allowed to sell it?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Add all the material costs, then take the hours you work to create a set and set a price you consider decent for the effort worked. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I also want to buy this

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I also want to buy this

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 And then there's whatever fees for doing it at all, since you have to buy the materials, use your machines/tools, etc.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It’s very beautiful and I’d definitely be interested in a copy.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Please let me know

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

me too. 250 sounds fair.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How many working hours did it take you to make it? Double that number and decide how much you want to make per hour... It's a rough number..

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

250 easily.

8 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

Ditto

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Wich is to say that’s my starting price not ending

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Literally looked up "catan board game" and this thing is being sold on Etsy for $250.75

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Whats your asking price

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Hmm. for only the wooden parts, maybe around $250? The printed parts were pretty expensive. One set cost me $330. thoughts?

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

theoretically you could cast the pieces and make a mold, not sure what you'd make it with or cost though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

$250 of materials or does it include paying for laser cutting services etc? Do you have patterns I could use?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I'd pay easily $60 or $120 +shipping for this game. But, you probably spent more on the machine to make it and all that.. well time for me

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

To put my Dremel back on the 3D printer frame I built, and manually turn the gears to make it...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol the regular cardboard version of Catan is like 50 bucks

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The base game costs ~$40. So, let's say that the board is worth ~$30. We can triple price since it's durable and long lasting, and I'd say

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You can add about 40 for it solving basic issues the standard still retains. Then, I'd say add in another $40 for the quality of the product

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That covers the designs on each piece, how well they fit together, and how well they hold. Overall, I'd price this at ~$170 Give or take.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Fuck Catan. It's a great game, but 35 plus times playing it with multiple times getting to 9 points and always get buttfucked in the end.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 4

Git gud

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Don't play Munchkin then.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Play to 12 for 3players, and 11 for 4. Add 2 rules for the first two rounds, 7s can have 2 adjustments;

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The robber isn't active until Player 1 rolls for their 3rd time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you roll a 7 before the robber is active, you can either Rotate 1 of your roads to another direction, or roll again.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not even a great game. It has too much randomness, there are much better skill and strategy board games out there.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

If it takes too much skill and strategy, its not fun for casuals.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I agree

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

List a couple you like. I'm looking for suggestions

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Splendor, Tokaido, Suburbia, for a large swath. Also check out shutupandsitdown.com . British guys that do board game reviews.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

One of my favorite is Pandemic. It is a cooperative strategy game as opposed to a PvP strategy like Risk

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I recently picked up tera mystica, which is similar to catan in that there's a board and resources, but it's super fucking deep and takes ->

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

awhile to learn. Trying to read the rules and understand was a nightmare, but since then it's been really fun. For a simpler game, ticket ->

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

to ride is a fun strategic game that has some randomness, but a lot of strategy behind it and feels very fair compared to settlers. ->

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've had a good time with Ghost Stories, Catacombs, Robo Rally, and Aeon's End. Depends what you're looking for (1v1, coop, FFA)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you make this op?

8 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

Google reverse image search yielded no results for identical images though this could be bought from someone. @OP Can you tell us if it's OC

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It is indeed OC. The images for the resources were found online, but the parts and player tokens were all designed by me

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Awesome, really good job!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I did make this! I used shapeways for my 3D printing and a laser cutter for the wood

8 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 0

Do you have the plans available on thingiverse? I recently got access to a laser cutter and would love to give this a shot

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just started playing Catan with a few friends and this pic was a hit amongst them

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks! I'm glad you like it!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I want to buy this! How much would you consider selling it, and don't say three fiddy.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hmm... I haven't really thought about it. The 3d printing was expensive, I ended up spending over $500 total on it all

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

@AStrangeEnemyMasiosare you still there? or did you bail out?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

how much was the 3D printing? it really doesnt look like your material cost shouild have been very high...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3D printing was over $300. It'd be cheaper if i could find one to use instead of ordering it online

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Would you be willing to part ways with the blueprints?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You could easily get away for selling this for $800+ to collectors. Very nice work @OP , I would kill for the ability to make this board

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I've never sold anything online, any idea where I would do that at? Etsy maybe?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

plus, he already built the plans, its just a mater of making copies when someone orders, you dont even need inventory; "made to order"
