*Looks at the camera*

This was one of my favorite things of the whole show. I rewound it several times.

Long form tv annoys me because they we-use sets too much

4th wall breaks are always fun.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I lost it at this scene. NPH, you fucking awesome git!

9 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 1

Did you also notice that in the last episode characters kept "accidentally" saying end of the season? Fuller House also did this

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel like one of a small number who didn't like the show. NPH was a fucking delight though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd like to see if anyone DIDNT use his voice when reading this

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What season is this?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is only one season so far.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Severely enjoyed this show, was sceptical of NPH as Count Olaf at first, but loved every minute of his performance when I actually watched.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is a really great series. It's quite an accurate portrayal of the books, which are fantastic as well.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"I already know... the language I'm speaking right now" check to see it's available in 7 languages

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I didn't catch that one!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Couldn't get into the books, thought the movie was trash along with everyone else, and I think the show is pretty boring. A bunch of nothing

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Well, you seem to have entirely different tastes. Enjoy them instead, or are you wanting discourse?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just wanted to share my thoughts

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I lol'd when I saw this in the comfort of my own home

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My name is not anything but stephano.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A yes Stefano. That is definitely not Count Olaf.

9 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 1

Who is a completely different person than Captain Sham. Who is also not Count Olaf.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

See Children, nothing to worry about at all!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Alright children it's the end of the season....err semester" my favourite 4th wall break in this show

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What show?

A Series of Unfortunate Events. New Netflix show

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Dot dot dot

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Weren't there at least two other Netflix-related 4th wall breaks?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There were several, and not just on Series of Unfortunate Events. Fuller House has similar nods

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone who hasn't read the books, I enjoyed both the film and the show. Though I liked Jim Carrey more than NPH. NPH seemed too NPH-ey.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I literally just watched this episode yesterday with my kids!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

hes so good at playing Olaf

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

You're right. I always have pictured Steven ogg though as a good standin.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But that's not Olaf, that's Stephano.

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

You see Count Olaf has one long eyebrow and no beard. That man has one long beard and no eyebrow.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Pilaf

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Did other people not like nph as Olaf or was it just me?

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

I thought he didn't fit the role. He's supposed to be an old guy but his voice didn't fit. Didn't buy it. It kind of killed the show for me

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Olaf in the book is described as having a wheezy voice

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But that's not Olaf, it's Stephano.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Oh, you!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In fuller house they did something like this. As well as some funny digs to the twins

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Jody sweetin's twins? more like fuller BLOUSE, am I right? OH!! the Olson sisters!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No idea why somebody downvoted you for saying something true

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was probably one of the twins

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watched the whole season in one sitting. In the comfort of my own home. Was not disappointed.

9 years ago | Likes 118 Dislikes 3

No ragerts

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But would you suggest to look away or actually watch it? The theme song tells me to look away so idk.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was so incredible and whimsical, I was pulled in right away, I was hoping for some show or movie of the books since I first read them

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well I mean, until that part

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also watched it all at once. It was fantastic to me. So much better than the movie imo. The theme is always in my head though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look away, look away

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dude. Second to last episode took us for a RIDE, am I right?

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I felt hurt, like what the fuck. I don't need additional feels.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We got played so hard.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved these books as a kid, but they fucked that movie up so bad. I loved this show tho, thank God for Long-Form Television.

9 years ago | Likes 344 Dislikes 8

I feel like this scene was a low-key insult to the movie that was made as well.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

While I feel the movie could've been better, I still liked it and I loved Jim Carry as Count Olaf. NPH is pretty great too

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I love the attention to detail in it and parts of the script come straight from the books

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought the movie was okay. Not great but it was watchable.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

We wouldn't get along, I thought the film was good while I find the Netflix series to be absolute garbage.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To me I just saw Barney screwing around all the time. He couldn't get a good voice like Jim Carey did.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I was actually really glad he didn't try to do a super fake voice. Makes it better.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure he has the actual ability to. I was super aware it was him the whole time. I'm but trying to insult him just what I think.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I liked the movie but I didn't read the books so I don't know what they did wrong

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I noticed that all the people that are nice the the Baudelaire's is black, Mr Po, Monty and Josephine. It's on of the things you can't unsee

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 11

Charles?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Haven't met a Charles yet

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry, thought you were through the first season. He's in the last two episodes, played by Rhys Darby.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've seen him now, finished season one, so sad there's not more seasons

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Monty isn't black and they never mention skin color in the books.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I loved Jim Carrey in the movie, but putting everything in one film was too much to ask

9 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 0

Same mistake with Percy Jackson

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They didn't even get everything. They stopped after book 3 or 4. but left out a lot of those books as well

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

They didn't, they put 3 books into one movie, it was a perfect 3-act play.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Yea, they skipped out on soooo much

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I loved the movie, I thought it was seriously underrated!

9 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 11

The acting was okay but they needed to make it into a series not a single movie

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved it too! Meryl Streep is excellent in it, and so is Jim Carey, he and NPH are two very different takes on the character, both good.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

The movie was fantastic if you separate it from the books. I loved both the film and the books. I find that readers tend to be pretty...

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

...elitist when it comes to stories that are adapted. They call the film shit even though on its own merits it's super fucking great.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

I've read all the books. I thought the movie was great.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was shit. Especially disappointing as a kid who read all the books that they tried to cram in one movie.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 12

Well they only tried to cram the first three into one movie. Still not the best film though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's exactly how I felt about it too. Kind of a good thing about TV shows becoming so popular is it's a better way to bring books to life.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I adored the books, and they fucked up the tone. I have no idea how they'll even do the last two books.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

THANK YOU!! I completely agree with you! It should be more serious, and dark. They tried to make it too comical in my opinion.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the humor was in line with the book, it was just when it NEEDED to be serious, it kind of lost it's nerve. Aunt Josephine - Worst actress

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The tone is a tad off, I'll admit. It was a fun watch though, and nice to know hollywood hasn't forgotten the series.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

it was definitely very entertaining, and I don't hate it at all, just felt like it was missing a few things.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How not? I don't think the parents are the boldalare's. I think its the kids from the other home

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

well, that is clearly stated in the 7th episode when the parents arrive home to the Quagmire triplets.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Different people werent they?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just mean that the last couple books are really dark, and many characters die in rather sad ways.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

meh, they did say it was dard

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but, the show isn't. that's what I mean by the tone being off.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Jim Carrey was great as Olaf, but the whole movie sucked overall. The series is kind of the opposite. Great, but a mediocre Olaf.

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 4

I agree to an extent. Jim Carrey played the book Olaf spot-on, but I like NPH's take on the character.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I felt like NPH is playing Jim Carey playing Olaf.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think what you're seeing is where they both coincide with the book but I won't completely discredit what you're saying.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm enjoying the show, but I'm still iffy about NPH as Olaf. He has his moments, but it's mostly hard to be intimidating when the man's 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

only 3 inches taller than the kids. 2/ê

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I loved the books but could not stand the new show. I thought NPH was a terrible Olaf in part because of cheesy scenes like this.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 7

NPH didn't write these cheesy scenes...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I stopped watching it because I hate nph as Olaf as well, pretty bummed about it.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Hey, to each his/her own, I suppose. I thought the cheesiness was intentional and added to the charm.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

I agree but the books are so delightfully dark. To me the show feels dumbed-down & not nearly grim enough, often because of Olaf's portrayal

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I would agree with that, perhaps it's just nostalgia that makes me like it so much.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I think my nostalgia does the opposite. I just have to recognize the show and books are two separate things & enjoy the show for what it is.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not to but in, but I think the show got to a dark place in a diff way. in the books snicket plays with words more. In the show they use-

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

visual stuff more. I actually liked that about the show, it doesn't state every minor thing (despite the narration over)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is that Neil Patrick Harris?

9 years ago | Likes 286 Dislikes 4

Yeah too bad they stripped him of his medals, at least he got to go to the moon though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No this is Patrick

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No, it's Count Olaf! How can any of you not see this?!

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That's clearly not Count Olaf, he doesn't even have the tattoo!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes. And he is brilliant in this role.

9 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 5

No you're wrong, that's clearly Stephano.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No you're wrong, that's clearly Stephano.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Has he ever been anything but?

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No, that's Doogie Howser today. Feel old yet?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Doogie who?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Who is that child?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, that's Stephano. Neil Patrick Harris is a slim blond haired man, whereas Stephano is clearly bald and has a long gray beard.

9 years ago | Likes 444 Dislikes 2

Fucking nailed it.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Stephano Patrizio Jarriso

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I read that in Stephanos voice

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

????????I thought the same thing. Stephano has accident. Run up and down stairs with knife.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Beard, a word which here means long grown out facial hair

9 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

And has no eyebrows.

9 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 1

And doesn't have a tattoo on his ankle
