For the love of god please read the books. They are very different to the movies. Much better too.

Cheehoo!

I didn't like the movie. They cut all the good parts from the book and left all the boring parts in.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The movies basically rushed over the cliff notes and missed a huge number of finer plot and character aspects. (1)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2) The books will lead your imagination to something 10x better and wondrous than the movies. PLEASE read the books first! Trust me :)

Reading the books with/to your kids is great too. For long car trips, get the audio books. Will occupy everyone for hours at a time.

while the 1st couple books are pretty kiddy, right around book 4 (as far as I remember) they get much more mature real fast. not like>

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's why I never read them in high school, because they just seem so childish. After watching the movies I love the whole universe

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

>they dont have sex or anything, but the violence gets taken much more seriously, there's much less of a "this is a kids book, lets be sure>

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

>to make sure the kids get out of this mostly unscathed". I highly reccomend reading them or listening to the audiobook, even as an adult>

Indeed JK Rowling is an amazing author and hilarious to boot.

Despite an incedible performance by the cast, the movies were horrid, I am sorry to say.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or listen to the audiobooks!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, absolutely. The longer the books got, the less I liked the movies.

The books are what got me in to reading when i was a child

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

I watched the movues after reading all of the books. They're really good but I'm surprised anyone could understand what was going on in them

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

If they hadn't read the books. So many missing pieces.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The audiobooks are amazing too - Stephen Fry or Jim Dale's, either version

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I do love Stephen Fry but Jim Dale's version is so much better in my opinion.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Same here - he does the character voices so well :)
