I get the news wants you to think that's a ton of guns but it's really about average for a lot of people into guns. I had 12 at one time and I still had a small collection compared to my friends and I'm a liberal

"Ex- ..."

Doxx his ass and make his life a living hell.
jpmezz
Focus on why he started shooting. Does owning a gun makes him guilty of something? Doesn't that have the same negative connotation for Alex Pretti?

25? Poser ass.

Oh weird he's divorced? That's not typical of guys like this

I mean, if I had the space and money I could pick out 25 guns I would love to own, but I wouldnt join ice.

25 is a very low Number for us standards

Like I’ve said before:
I believe the majority of modern ICE are men who have jacked-up pickup trucks with silhouettes of guns on the windows and want nothing more than to kill another human without repercussions.

It's all a sick, demented irony.

The Logo on the shooter's hat is for the Houston Astros baseball team in case anyone was wondering.
Blze001
As someone who owns a few guns and is an Astros fan: we don't claim him, he's not invited to the family BBQ.
anonanonsnake
The guys who are really into guns and shooting including these guys have probably exposed themselves to mind altering levels of lead during their range training. Lead reduces the ability of the brain to make executive decisions, it greatly increases impulsivity and risk for criminality. Since there is very little regulation of gums and ammo both the bullets and primer contain high amounts of lead which become dispersed in the air and on surfaces.
idiotsonfire
"Gun enthusiast" is not the right term for "complete fucking nutjob with a desire to kill someone."
pareidoliaperson
So basically domestic terrorist.
sharkmanspi1
Death squad
CallieOpal
I would also accept "murderous criminal".
sofako41404
The most mild term that would be acceptable is "murder fetishist"

I was hoping the names of these assholes wouldn't become public. Not because that I have any empathy with these fucks. But some dork ass loser is going to make a givesendgo for this asshole and gather hundreds of thouasands of dollars from the MAGA cunt for this asshole. Like what happened to the murderer of Good and that racist cinnabon bitch.

Just gonna say it, but I'm willing to bet his ancestors didn't come over on the Mayflower.
tidepool
I mean, tbf, my father’s father’s father was an immigrant from Mexico but I descend from Mayflower passengers in 2 other grandparents and pre-colonial in the other one. And my Mexican grandfather also had pre-colonial ancestors including a famous Irishman in his lineage so, maybe. Could be why this guy is so pale. But you’re probably right.
Antrobus55
Just looking for a humorous way to point out the absurdity of MAGA xenophobia. They're afraid of violent Mexican criminals and the Great Replacement, and here's this Mexican guy pumping bullets into a white guy and they're cheering. How fucked up is that?

I mean Jesus is fake so it really doesn't matter. Religion is the con that ruined humanity
InnerBushman
Early beliefs were a coping mechanism to explain what we didn't understand. Until someone figured out you can control people if you organize those beliefs and put yourself in position of power by explaining them in a different way. That's how most of the religions were born.
ElDuffoOMuerte
and he has a pervert mustache. he looks like every "Call The Cops If You See This Man Near Children" poster.
flounder35
How much cultural appropiation can he do? Damn Cop killing a protestor, the stash, probably has a video of him jacking off with at least one of his guns. I would not be suprised if he was in a ranch appriciantion facebook group or what ever the Twitter equivilent of that is.

Why do these losers always have ex wives. Oh... Wait.... Makes perfect sense. Small dicks. Big guns. Tempers. And probably has grinder on his phone.
themadprofessor
Dude's not racist. His ex-wife's eye was black.
yourdesiredusernameisnotavailable
I am at a loss to explain how the FOUND wives
sofako41404
Probably through a church.
KarateCanine
Not that there's anything wrong with grinder. But they seem to hide their orientation.....but man do they love sucking dick.
GeeBrainWhatDoYouWantToDoTonight
Not that there’s anything wrong with sucking dick either. Between two consenting adults it can actually be pretty loving and fun for both involved. But being ashamed of that and hiding it like so many right wingers seem to do is where there lies the ironic problem. Closeted dick sucking ammosexuals be damned.
itsthevoiceman
We don't have to body shame, there's plenty more to criticize. Like how he very likely beat his - now ex - wife.
KarateCanine
It's not really body shaming. It's more an explanation for why they always feel immasculated and less if a man as soon as someone with confidence and self worth is around them.

lol, 56% of americans are/have been divorced. having guns isnt much of a correlation to that
KarateCanine
There are more guns than Americans. So maybe it does?
Fizzypeach
But what is the percentage of Republicans?
MouseDenton
Being a gun enthusiast in America isn't a red flag or "smoking gun". Yes, he's shit, but not for that reason. This feels like a "Nazis ate sugar" fallacy.
m0nkeymagic
Owning “25 pistols, rifles and shotguns” is a red flag. 🚩
LiterallyAnOpossum
My trans leftist girlfriend owns more than that.
m0nkeymagic
And?
MouseDenton
I disagree. Now if someone has 25 of the same rifle in the same configuration, that's absolutely a red flag: that's not a collection anymore, that's an armory for a militia. But collections in the double-digits are not that uncommon. Gun guys just tend to be tight-lipped about exact numbers until they're talking to another gun guy.
TheWhiteBarry
Why is that? Why do they feel the need to be tight lipped? Are you guys doing something that society at large finds disgusting or something? You wouldn't happen to be hiding behind a pile of dead school children while you make that argument would you? Oh wait yes that's exactly what you're doing.
Blze001
Responses like this are why. Being instantly labeled a psychotic child murderer just because we have a few guns for precision target shooting and hunting.
TheWhiteBarry
25 is a few? And I'm labeling you an irresponsible selfish jackass because you're acting like an irresponsible selfish jackass.
Every school shooting from the moment you're able to vote on gun control but choose not to, you are partially responsible for those children's deaths.
Deshalope
I assume you're also a gun enthusiast - can you please explain the appeal? I genuinely don't get it.
solfrost
I enjoy target shooting, different firearms are good at different things. Might want a small .22lr rifle for plinking. Maybe a larger .30-06 rifle for long distance. For short distances to the target, a handgun -- a 9mm is the most common round. If you're trans like me, maybe a smaller 9mm for CCW. A small pistol-caliber-carbine in 9mm now makes sense too so you can save some money on target practice. Maybe want to try shooting clays so you'll need a shotgun. The collection builds up fast.
sheslikeheroin
I enjoy plinking, shooting targets, if you want to shoot a tight group you need to relac and be clear of mind. I find it calming when i sit down at my bench or stand in a lane at my pistol club, it gives me one thing tonfocus on anx clears my mind.
sheslikeheroin
2 i also appreciate the history and technology of it. My firearms go from 1872 to modern era. The fact that something can last 150 years and still function like new is incredible to me, and the work reviving old tech is fun to me. I have way more firearms than the ice asshole in the post but only chat with a select few about them IRL to avoid being lumped in with psychos.
MouseDenton
It's a lot like any hobby, really. It's as technical as cars but cheaper, can be as relaxing as fishing or tense as darts, casual as bowling or competitive as basketball, it's as nationalistic as soccer, and steeped in more history than baseball. And that's before you even include hunting. Though for many it is a LARPing power fantasy.
itsthevoiceman
So the ammosexual got to live out his dream of shooting someone to death.
Bundalicious
Shoot a white person and get away with it.
mjperk
One of the agents on the scene was recorded, on camera, clapping right after Alex was executed. Then there's the audio recorded of agents talking about how it's just like Call of Duty. They think it's a fun, amusing game. Of course.
SadToSay
Murder fantasies
ChipWallace
IMHO, it's more about the lack of emotional intelligence than how many guns he owns. I know plenty of gun enthusiasts who would never dream of wanting to intentionally harm someone else.
It's as simple as being a rational and empathetic human being.
xj4low
"Just like Call of Duty."
gronzilla

Unarmed. On the ground. Close range. 10 bullets in 5 seconds. Is all you really need to know.
OutspokenHBW
Don't forget "in the back"
ClessAurion
I'd argue that the "No serious consequences from part of the state" part is a good thing to know too!
CptRobotNinja
Also with about 5 of his mates directly in the line of fire, blue line be damned that mother fucker would be catching a beat down in the shower room of legendary proportions if he mag dumped a foot and a half from my nuts without warning. Like bro really looked at a tangle of dudes and just stuck his arm into the fray and started shooting, hoping what ever he hit was not one of his buddies. Like everything else awful aside, that's wild behavior
WhoReadsPeoplesUsernamesAnyway
I didn't even consider this at all until now! Damn
CptRobotNinja
It's a display of disregard for basic gun handling, never mind what ever policies and procedures ICE may have for use of force and discharging a side arm. I don't know what they're trained to do, but I can promise you a trainer at some point has specifically told him not to do exactly this
solfrost
Hi I'm happily married, trans, and just about as far left as one can be -- I also own over a dozen firearms, including pistols, rifles, shotguns because I enjoy target shooting and loud PEW PEWs -- does that make me a bad person?
m0nkeymagic
Its a red flag owning so many. Just being honest. Because I don’t know you.
What’s “normal” in the US isn’t a lot of other places.
RevRagnarok
According to groupthink here and on reddit (outside of places like /r/liberalgunowners), yes.
RevRagnarok
(See?)
shehdbeuebw738373
I really wanna join a leftist shooting club but can be arsed. Gotta get over it.
solfrost
It can be difficult finding a group of firearm enthusiasts that don't overlap with gross MAGA folks unfortunately, I mostly just practice with a small group of friends/family. :/
AntaNce
No, it does not. (p.s. so glad you're happy! GLORY to you & yours.)
solfrost

AntaNce
Right back at you!
supergreenpasta
If you haven't murdered anybody or beaten peaceful protestors then you're fine.
solfrost
Hah, using a firearm against another human is the very *last* thing I’d want to do.
TheWhiteBarry
Yes. Statistically your weapons are more likely to be used in a school shooting than for whatever sick reason you convinced yourself you needed them for. Do the right thing for society and melt them down.
Don't give me that "but I'm a responsible..." No. The statistics are clear on this. Not everything is under your control. Fuck the 2nd amendment. And fuck you for using a pile of dead school children as a shield for your "freedom". 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕
Sparkmateriality
RoamingEast
whats the statistic? out of the 500+ million firearms in the US, what are the exact odds HIS particular guns end up in a mass shooting? we talking Vegas odds or 'winning the lottery odds'?
Skawomplious
Oh fuck off.
LegendaryWizardCat
I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of statistics. His reason was target shooting, not whatever sick reason YOU convinced yourself OP owns them for... Your rhetoric is disgusting and accomplishes nothing. You should be ashamed.
TheWhiteBarry
The sound of children screaming has been removed from your brain apparently. Wish I had that luxury.
prosper020
In short, no. In long, not by itself no. It’s all very complicated. We are the only country that seems to allow such guns and the only country that has so many damn shootings. People collecting guns isn’t the problem, it’s more of a symptom of the gun problem that we have. Like how addiction is a symptom of deeper problems.
Dozen+ is troubling, but You are not a bad person for it.
I’d also argue that being trans in the US requires a firearm or 3 for your own safety. Another symptom of US’s rot.
solfrost
I'll gladly give up all of my firearms the day that the state no longer uses them to oppress people and/or they can be held accountable for their usage (i.e. police, etc). What's the saying? If you go far left enough you get your guns back?
m0nkeymagic
I thought you had them for “target shooting”?
solfrost
I do, I hope to never have to use them for anything else.
prosper020
I very much agree. The state’s use of firearms is one of the large symptoms of our deeper gun issues. I don’t plan on giving up my rifle until the state gives up everything of theirs.
I am ashamed to say I haven’t heard that saying before. What does it mean?
solfrost
1) Moderates and left-centrists tend to prefer strong gun controls yes? If you keep going left towards true socialism/anarchism you have to accept that political power blooms from violence (literal, or the threat thereof) so you understand that keeping at least a modicum of that power (firearms in this case) with the people is necessary to keep some level of accountability on those in power. Of course politics aren't a clean straight line, but that's the gist of it.
Skawomplious
Reference to Marx, who wrote that under no circumstances should the people allow themselves to be disarmed.
solfrost
2) Those of us who lean left and are 2A advocates of course recognize that individually we aren't going to stop political violence when it visits us in the form of an army or police state etc... we'd get instantly slaughtered. When enough like-minded people are armed though, and you're not sure whether that door you're kicking in will have a firearm pointed at you behind it, the prospect of disarming everybody and trying to force compliance becomes less appealing numbers-wise.
m0nkeymagic
And why am I not surprised that gun ownership is being argued on a post about a murderer.
solfrost
The only reason I commented is the headline and text seem to indicate ownership is the sole factor of the situation, and not that he was a terrible person to begin with. That’s a *very* broad brush. In a country with more guns than there are people, ownership isn’t very uncommon.
m0nkeymagic
Yep, and there are more places in the world than the USA where it’s very much abnormal.
So you’ll get honest replies.
Instead of being pissed at the murderer giving you a bad name, you’re having a go at media.
Stop.
I agree with you though, Americans certainly need them now. It’s a shitshow.
solfrost
I'm not pissed, just sad that any nuance is being lost. And I agree, owning a lot of guns in most places outside of the US *is* weird. And heck, I'd support more control here too, if our own govt and law enforcement would play by the same rules they push on the people. As soon as the govt stops firearms against its own citzens with next-to-no consequences I'll be happy to trade in all my firearms for a bow or a pellet gun if I want to continue target shooting.
m0nkeymagic
Mate, I feel for you.
Unfortunately these fuckwits are the ones giving gun ownership a bad name. Not the media.
But anyways, this post is about Alex Pretti being murdered. Let’s focus on that.
