Was my first corporate job. Wasn’t into the corporate brown nosing. Got a new boss and he used one customers complaint to make an example of me.

Best feeling was getting to tell the bosses how everyone laughs at them two behind their backs and have zero respect for their leadership.

Fuck it on to bigger and better things.

Edit: Thank you guys! Positive attitudes go a long way. Hopefully I can look back on this and say this was the start of something wonderful.

Your mental health is important. Good that you are out of that place

Life is too short to work for a fucked up company, go where they respect you.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That place sucked anyways

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 4

If you aren't into brown nosing, your corporate career is going to fucking suck. Gotta suck that dick like you mean it.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

This is nothing to be embarrassed about. It happens. Take a week or two off then start looking for another opportunity.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those bosses don’t care about anyone’s opinion of them and all you did was probably make your first corporate job your last corporate job.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Screw them. Don’t let them dim your shine.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

I just quit my shit job and put in a weeks notice. Already have a better paying job lined up. Fuck shitty managers my dudes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good luck to you a best wishes for the new job. I have to give 3 months notice; somehow I don't think I would give them that much :-)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What a name tho

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you know what’s it from doe

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Just had the same thing happen to me I just got a new job and things are going great

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just went through the samething yesterday. It sucked, but way better off. Good luck OP!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So you narced out everyone else and made things worse for them so you could feel better about being let go by assholes. Good on ya! :-|

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Yeah but most of the people I worked with were cunts.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 11

OK, well fair game then. Lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah man, I got a rash...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dude!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol I’m in the same boat! I got fired too :p gotta just move on and find something better

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So im guessing you wont be needing them for a reference?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

What you do is say your still working for the company. Then the new company doesn’t call your old company.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 12

I pray for this every day as I'm building my side hustle to full time. Waiting impatiently to make enough to jump.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Been there. Done that. It’ll get better. Really.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cool story OP. How much respect do your coworkers have for the juvenile, mouthy fuck who got sacked?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Feel like I'll need to use this meme for myself soon. But hey, keep your chin up and you do you. Fuck 'em

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I got laid off from a job I thought I loved. Turns out I was just used to the shit. New job is better pay, better commute, better hours. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 and overall better environment. I feel respected and valued. Getting laid off was the best, because I never would have quit

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tried convincing myself I was happy because of the money but I hated my life

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Sounds like me, currently

In a movie full of great lines, this one doesn’t always get its due.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I can say that I use this quote almost daily.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it has way too many uses. It's unfortunate. I'm sorry he died. :(

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What movie?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tombstone

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

An hour commute?......lol (crying regularly for two hours each way)

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You don’t understand how stressful Florida drivers can make it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

As someone in the UK, the whole multiple hour commute sounds crazy!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i understand. i have a 1.5hr each way, if i dont miss my connection. im gone at least 12hrs per day, but work is work! (I like my job)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am with you man!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I worked at one company for 10yrs. Left for double paying job ... got fired 8 months later.. was devastate bc I had never been fired before

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to my career lol

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How so?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was the worst job I ever had despite the high pay. I was working 90+ hrs per week, my boss didn't give 2 shits just demanded more & more

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When they fired me I literally laughed so hard I couldn't drive right away. It was like being released from prison. Now i have a job paying

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

About the same where I work just 40hrs, Mon to Fri 7am to 3pm & my boss actually cares & says thanks. I've received 2 raises in the last

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What company?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The one @OP worked for, that should be obvious from context.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Idk if I want to do that.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Personal thoughts: Company I hated but quit on good terms, not telling. Company I hated that fired me for dumb reason, fair game.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shitheads Inc llc

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeahhhhhh don’t answer that. Corporations are lawsuit happy about that shit. Source: I work for one.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You sound like me when I was 20 and that's the exact type of person I wouldn't hire as an employee now that I'm 30

8 years ago | Likes 145 Dislikes 13

OP may be a tool, but met my share of immature bosses too.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Doesn't matter. Later employers will most often ask for references from your old boss. You never win anything by being rude.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

I have people that got promoted within the company that I could use plus a ton of other references. This was a dead end job.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

(don't mean you, obviously. I just feel like saying "one never..." sounds a bit old timey) :)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Old! Na Na nanana

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think I started dumb, cared, and went all the way back to not. There are other ways to get reference, and you're right, don't need to be/1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Rude; but remember you have value other than being a yes man, and sometimes standing up, leaving, and not taking shit is OK. /2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m a tool for telling the truth.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

It's not that bruh. Not all truths need to be told. Feels good sometimes, but you gain nothing. I'm not saying your bosses weren't shit. /1

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Can always be the bigger man/woman by saying thank you, walking away tall, and knowing how fucked they are. I've failed that a bunch lol /2

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I usually am the bigger man and I just have never been treated like this in the workplace. Never fired before either.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

When you see hate and problems all around you, it's likely you are the problem. Your inability to be professional is very telling.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You have a very poor attitude and breed hostility in the work place. It wasn't just 1 customer. It was your lack of professionalism.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You mistook behaving in a civil way, such as not insulting others and burning bridges, as brown nosing. It's childish.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Prick

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I was lied to about my job description. The department almost all revolted and quit because management is bad. Your just being a judgemental

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nope, when you feel you're surrounded be assholes it usually means you've behaved in a way that identifies you to the group as one.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Meaning, if you think you're surrounded by problems on all sides. You likely are the problem.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

File for unemployment.

8 years ago | Likes 457 Dislikes 6

Prepare to get raped at tax time. I took two weeks unemployment and my refund dropped $700

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I had a month with unemployment and now I owe the IRS. Smh. Never had that problem until now.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Fucking unreal right? We pay into it every paycheck but get bent over if we use it. Shitty system

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same thing I said. Like wtf isn't it my money to begin with? Now I have to jump through hoops of fire just to get some of it when I need it!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that's not how unemployment works. your refund probably dropped because you weren't paying taxes, because you weren't employed. also, you

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

shouldnt be getting a huge refund anyway. that means you're overpaying upfront

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I don't claim anything. I'm in the third tax bracket. About 30% of my gross was paid in. None of my credits (student loans inrerest, savings

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

CRP, etc) applied because of my income. But two weeks of unemployment that i paid for dropped my refund by $700? Fuck that

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They seem to fight it. At least HR lady did say I’d be getting my Bonus though close to 8k. Then I can dip into my retirement savings.

8 years ago | Likes 207 Dislikes 6

File any way.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don’t dip into retirement savings! File for unemployment.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Do it anyway. If you're denied, appeal. You'll get it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

File it anyways, make them spend the time and money to fight it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

make them work for it. each time someone fights it costs them a LOT of money

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No. No. No. once you get that check you file. That is strong evidence. Do it! Better than not trying.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Doesn't mean you don't file. Worst that can happen is they say no

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thats an empty threat from them. File anyway. Fuck them.

8 years ago | Likes 262 Dislikes 0

Their best weapon is discouraging you from trying. Their second best weapon is lying, which would mean a lawsuit. They'd rather just pay.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

File for it and you can fight them if they try to block it. Don't touch your retirement money!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You've paid into the system. File for UI, don't touch retirement unless you absolutely must.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

They always fight it but it seems to be more of a scare tactic (at least in my experience). Request a hearing and get representation.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's your legal right to collect unemployment as long as you didn't quit or get fired for pulling your Weiner out or something

8 years ago | Likes 166 Dislikes 0

Oh damn it! The one thing I can't do!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not sure about where you live, but if you got walking papers, make sure your reason for filing matches the papers.

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Even if I’m getting a bonus in mid March?

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

Yes

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

And when they fight it what do it do?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Don’t dip into your 401(k) unless absolutely necessary.

8 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Seriously, dipping into your retirement saving is like saying "I don't want to eat for 4 months when I'm 75"

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Years*

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Plus, you’re getting taxed at the highest rate, plus a 10% penalty, @OP.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yes I know. I got fired from a job in retirements.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

What I’ll do is move it into an IRA then w/d. then I only face a 10% tax and penalty. That really is the reserves If I go through savings
