I wish this movie could be redone..

Jan 4, 2017 2:21 AM

I rather enjoyed the book series and this movie rivals as one of the worst adaptations ever made. I think it'd be better if it was redone by someone who has actually read the books.

Please, yes. This shitty movie version made me angrier than I'd ever been in my life.

This story deserved so much better.

There is a petition to have the movie remade. It has quite a bit of signatures. Books were excellent.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Respectfully, I'm ok if they don't ever go back to this.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

We don't talk about that movie.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

I wish but they bombed this one so bad no one wants to see a remake

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Really? I thought the book was pretty awful.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Looks like a decent porn.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Its on the same level as the last airbender. I loved the books and nearly cried when i saw the movie it was so dissappointing.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

im still convinced the movie is the reason my subconcious wont let me watch the series

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Enjoyed the books but I have no idea what movie you're talking about

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Agree

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have the same feeling about the Series of Unfortunate Events movie

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The Netflix series looks promising

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This and the avatars the last Airbender movie. So much hope so much bitter disappointment

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

GOD YES A 1000 TIMES YES, this is one of my favorite book series of all time and they fucking butchered it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was taken to go see this because my friend swore the books were great. It seemed like a bad Star Wars fan fiction with dragons to me.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The books are good. This was a bad adaptation. They were missing three entire major characters. Made up a town. Characters were wrong.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

WE. DONT. TALK. ABOUT. IT.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They played the "telephone game" to write the script.

9 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

My understanding was that a 3rd grader wrote a book report on the book, got a failing grade, and a Hollywood executive found it in the trash

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

There are better fantasy book series that would make good franchises.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Yes. But it could have been a good series.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Legend of the seaker was the worst adaption

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Darken Rahl is Richard's brother? Fuck off with all of that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was nothing like the books

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Saphira was bleu.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This and Avatar, the last Airbender

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Jeremy Irons and John Malkovich couldn't save this piece of shit.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The mortal instruments got a pretty shitty movie too.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Completely agree

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I quite enjoyed the movie. I'm not that familiar with the book though. Really wanted a sequel and would like to read sometime.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

You will no longer love the movie if you read the books.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you do read it you will no longer enjoy anything about the movie. That being said, I highly recommend reading the books.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I think I have to read it now.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I liked the movie a lot and then a friend made me read the books and then I hated the movie for how bad it screwed the story up

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Would've enjoyed the books a whole lot more if he didn't take 6 years to write them

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 6

id prefer they take 10 years rather than 1 if thats what it takes for them to be good.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Apparently he's writing another series set in the same universe but post eragon story

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Last I heard Paolini was working on a sci-fi novel... but it's been a while

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It was in a Q and A on his website. He said it was a long way off and was just now working on ideas for the story.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'll try to find the source tomorrow

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Currently reading (3/4) and love them. Haven't watched this film because of the shit reviews.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

You see that guy on the left with the broody hair? That's Murtagh (spelling?). Let that sink in.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As far as you're concerned, this movie doesn't exist. Stay innocent, you sweet precious child.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

From what I understand, the movie takes certain liberties that would have ruined important plotlines in the sequels if they had existed.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Saphira was such a sassy little shit in the books. I loved her.

9 years ago | Likes 307 Dislikes 2

"Dead" -saphira

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

When your greatest performer is the ANIMATED dragon...yeah, they screwed up. Adaptations are hard, and you have to make changes...(1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But they have to be changes that MAKES SENSE! Done with short rant. (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She was the only decent part of that steaming pile of shit film, too. I liked her scaled feathered wings.

9 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

I approved of Jeremy Irons as Broom too. But little else...

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Broom

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I did not because the books repeatedly describe the wings as membranes much like a bat

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And Paolini explicitly stated that Arya has Raven-black hair, & the Ra'zac have insect-like carapaces, but the movie fucked those up.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

it fucked a lot of shit up

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I swear 15% of that series at least is Saphira telling Eragon that he's an idiot for playing around with magic. Again.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I loved reading these as a kid and imagining the world that Chris Paolini created. Brisingr was my favorite sword I can still imagine 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

to this day. Roran is my favorite character because of how he rose in the ranks of the Varmin from a nobody to a general that captured an2/?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

impregnable city and the events leading up to it were some of my favorite parts of the series from how he played mind games with their 3/?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

generals and wizards when they first meet. God I loved this book saga just not the ending. 4/4

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The author was 16 when he wrote the first book . I thought he did quite well

9 years ago | Likes 165 Dislikes 7

Enjoyed it some as a kid, in retrospect they were pretty shitty books though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

I also read the book and felt it was definitely written by a 16 year old.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

A 16 year old that got friendzoned hardcore.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Too bad he's a whiny, conceited little cunt.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He did. Screen writers however did not. They fucked it up. It had a good series potential but they flopped the first.

9 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

$$$$$$$$$$$

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm honestly in awe that they managed to fuck up THAT badly. It was not a complex story and they managed to destroy it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea... they are dumb

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's embarrassing that Twilight of all things was better done than that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or at least had a better continuity with the source material. A feathered Dragon wing is ridiculous. They are scalely

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He did amazingly. I read the first one when I was in fourth grade. As a 23 yo. I enjoy reading them just as much if not more now.

9 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 2

I started in 5th or 6th grade I believe and I just fell in love with them it was a shame I didn't read inheritance until 9th grade 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

because by then I kind of forgot everything but I still loved it all the same even if I had to refresh myself 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am nearly the same with you. Got them at the scholastic book fair in elementary and thought they were fuckin insane

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

...You were 23 in 4th Grade?

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yes. Totally.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I mean wasn't there that whole scandal about plagiarism with him, or am I thinking of someone else?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

yeah, it pretty much directly followed the plot of star wars, replacing the force with magic and dragons, and a sister with a brother.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

half brother

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nope

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know it's been awhile since I last read the books but I'm calling bullshit. Only thing remotely close is growing up with the uncle.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

The film, however, is literaly Star Wars with dragons and magic replacing spaceships and the force.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

One of the stories is about a young man whose father gives in to his dark desire to rule, is hidden away and raised by an uncle, later 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

discovers that he is heir to fantastic powers and is his peoples last hope against an evil empire. The other story is star wars. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Yes. This. I still get so mad about it. Even the little things that were easy to get right. Like the color of the sword gem. (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

(2/2) Seriously. How hard is it to make something red instead of blue? Especially when it's CGI anyways! It'd be so easy just to do right.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

THEY. FORGOT. THE. DWARVES. ENTIRELY.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

or how they made Saphira grow up instantly which is the exact reason Thorn is stunted =/

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That really pissed me off. Missed a great opportunity to see the connection between them. A freaking montage would of been better.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

right? at first I even thought it was going to be a time skip but then it wasn't and I was like WHAT THE HECK?!?!?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the final book was pretty awful.

9 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 14

All of the books were pretty awful. Like reading a lazy fanfic

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

the ending where he just leaves for the island was shit, but not worse than the final battle that took like 1 chapter

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I was confused when the final battle ended and I still had, like, a third of the book to read.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What a terrible ending am I right? "And they left"

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

WORST ending to a book series EVER!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are only four books? I've been waiting for a fifth one, I really don't think the fourth one ended very well.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Yeah it's over.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You think? I quite enjoyed it myself.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was just medieval starwars

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From what I remember as a kid , how he ended the book left me very bitter against the series. I understand that all stories can't end 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

perfectly like we hope, but at the time it just felt so disappointing. Having to wait all those years for it to end in that certain way.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too I absolutely loved it but felt like they could have done another book from their adventures fixing the cities and saving the eggs

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The issue was he originally wanted it to be a trilogy but when he sent the 3rd book the publisher they told he he had to break it it up

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So he had to take the book and basically redo it to be two books. That was also why it took so long for book 3 to come out

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Book 1 introduced a potentially great story, book 2 was awesome, book 3 was anticlimactic, and book 4 just sorta gave up.

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

I stopped at book 3 because of that I think.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think as he grew older and read more, he was too heavily influenced by other works. The first one was a purer creation.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

book 3 was the best (but i stopped reading at the 3/4 of the 4th book ^^)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It wasn't great but I thought it was an ok wrap up.

9 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Agreed

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The book was eh, but I feel like the ending was excellent. Left the world wide open, but concluded the story. And by "ending" I mean the 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

last chapter, maybe. Not much more. It was rather bland aside from the actual conclusion.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I kinda liked it but it wasn't as good as the other 3.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed it was just terrible, the way he won and his decision at the very end. Very mediocre.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I liked the way the king was killed. It was poetic justice.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

To be fair, how do you defeat someone who has warded against every damage / harm you can think of?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

By exposing him to something/the last thing that still makes him human? It just seemed so convenient, to cast one final spell and have him

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lose because of being exposed to all of his evils. I guess it was just the execution, a huge build up to a quick and convenient end.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Also, the Wizards shouldn't have been able to nuke themselves because the atoms that make up their bodies don't have the right mass.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

There is a ton of energy in mass. If you were to turn 60kg of any mass straight into energy, you'd get something of an explosion.
