Found my cat outside with a broken leg, no tag, adopted him, fixed him. This reminds me first month or so, I found a bag of treats for cat teared open like a raccoon on coke went through it or something. Cat was fed daily, but I realized he might have done so out of survival or habit. Talked to him and pointing at the teared up bag, reassured him he will get whatever he wants to eat. Haven't done it since.
