FP Edit: Finally after two years you guys have deemed me worthy of the FP! Send me things. All the things!

This made me laugh and reflect on how much I do this too.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ME TOO! I just realized how pathetic we are.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Upvote for knowing my life.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How could you possibly commit to something like 'always'? Its just too much pressure.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I click "always", but then it wants me to go in and change some settings and that's just too much effort so I keep clicking "just once".

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My phone automatically chooses a default program after my new update and it makes me wildly uncomfortable every time.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just started the "always" option to see what regretting it feels like.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Is nobody going to comment on the resolution? I feel like most of these are blurry as fuck and this one is magically clear.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My mother in law thinks the phone is bugged or crashing every.single.time. that pops up.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also just noticed the title typo. Of* not if

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I had to scroll back up to find it

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh i'm going down that path, mines 4 months in ! I sure know I will always use "just once"

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did the "always" option for YouTube, and I've regretted it ever since

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With my new system update it doesn't give me the choice for "just once" anymore. I miss having the choice every time.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It drives me nuts now.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. That type of commitment is just not something I'm prepared for at this point in my life. I'm mid-30s. And a doctor.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Coming up on 3 years, finally clicked always...regretted it hard for about 15 secs. Now I don't even remember when it would pop up.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's really nice for when I accidentally click on an ad.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that's a weirdest "so other people do that to" i found... i did not expect that

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh man I thought I was alone. You never know when you're gonna watch a YouTube video on chrome despite never having done it before

10 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

I hot always and it asks me every time anyway

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have to. When I click the other option it tells me to go set that as the default... and I don't know how.

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

I know. I'm 19 but idk how to work this bullshit technology

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, what it does is set that application as default, and tells you that, if you want to, you can reset defaults in the settings menu.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was literally just thinking about why I do this earlier today

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have the option for a few years and I still won't make this kind of commitment.

10 years ago | Likes 129 Dislikes 0

because i don't want youtube to get all excited with shit when i'm on mobile data.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Literally why I do the same thing, it won't play videos in the app on mobile data but will in browser.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I just can't commit, damn it! I mean... WHAT IF!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You never know, one day you could need that alternative. And then what do you do? Erase all app preferences like a barbarian!?

10 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 2

Only a savage would do something like that...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is exactly my fear

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You mean all those app preferences you don't have?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You only need to remove the default for that specific app involved, not everything.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

How?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Apps - (find the app with the default) - App info - Clear defaults

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I can't deal with that level of easily reversed commitment

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

But is it easily reversed? Android seems to imply the only way to reverse it is to reset all app defaults.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why do you think that's implied? You can reset the defaults for any individual app much easier than doing it on all apps at once

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I guess you have to reset the app in question as default for all its actions but you can easily redefault it for whatever next time it asks

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh, I thought you had to reset all apps for all file types.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Doesn't matte, I have my phone 3 years; and I still click always use this program for this application.

10 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 4

You sir live life way to dangerously for me.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

If you really wanna use the semicolon, you should remove the "and"

10 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 8

Doing the Lord's work

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

did not know, also It should have been a regular , but cool +1

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

This sentence is a mess.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The joke is that it always asks even though you've made your decision the first time. It's the same for me.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yeah, what's up with that? Is it asking about the specific link you are following instead of the type?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not only that, but there's the follow up message about where to go to undo the setting. Clicking the Just Once option saves time.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same! Is it a samsung? Cause it drives me crazy that it asks me everytime, and I've hit always use everytime. So annoying!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's as bad as my kids. Asks the same question over and over even though I've answered dozens of times.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OP said he clicks just once. The joke is that he doesn't commit to a single app.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm going on almost 4 years myself. We should start a club

10 years ago | Likes 986 Dislikes 0

"Just once"

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"just once, forever" ?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm in

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3 and some change. everytime "gallery" or "photos" ive opened photos once

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still rocking my galaxy s, the first one. Its a pos but im a jew

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only once

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm in too boys. But just once

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's dozens of us

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do that too! Where is the sign up sheet?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Count me in

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5 years for me... tempted to replace my Droid Charge, but I know all it's weird quirks finally...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can I join? But just this once.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe next time.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd attend but probably only show up just once

10 years ago | Likes 201 Dislikes 0

Just once, every time.

10 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Spent all my upvotes on this post.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cool I click use as default, and it still asks me each fucking time...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you like triangle sandwiches?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We are all our soulmates

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Me too. I don't want to ever be limited

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's just the beginning of my commitment issues.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would, but i'm afraid to commit to being part of any club for an unspecified amount of time :/

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm on about 4 years as well I get it. Fuck having to commit, especially when variety is the spice of life.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

6 years.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We'll call the club the non-commitals... Nah never mind let's not.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

We'll leave it open for discussion in case a better name comes up.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

there are dozens of us!!

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

DOZENS!!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Right? That time might come where you don't want it to use one and if you clicked always you're just screwed.

10 years ago | Likes 113 Dislikes 0

Ok, I thought i was alone in this. Maybe there's a bigger issue like we are too hesitant..also because I always use the same app after all..

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also regularly clear app preferences to make sure

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Been waiting 2-3 years for that time that MIGHT come

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Naw because you have to go into the settings and push buttons and ain't nobody got time for that

10 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

Have you ever installed and deleted a program that does the same thing just to avoid digging into the settings to fix this?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've got shitposts to make. There's no time for "settings"

10 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

TIL I am not alone in this. The one time someone borrowed my phone and clicked a link and selected always I nearly unfriended them.

10 years ago | Likes 623 Dislikes 3

Wow, me too guys, it doesn't matter what phone i have. Pansy life.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unlife them.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's the only way to go. Then unknow them

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But why? Doesn't always being asked bother you? I would go insane if my iPhone offered me a choice

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

No, I want the choice. Every time.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Even if, after all, I use the same app every time.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I like how "unfriend" is a verb and a threat now

10 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 3

I thought it was funny that it referred to not being friends with someone rather than deleting them on facebook

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You can change it back!!

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 4

That's a lot of work.

10 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

How?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Settings apps. Top right corner app preferences clear

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait until you upgrade to Marshmallow you no longer get the option It asks which program and automatically sets your choice as the default.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's not true it still asks me every time unless I chose the default. Nexus 6p phone

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My s6 doesn't give me that option. You choose once and bam that's your default app.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn that sucks

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thats alright, it keeps fuckin' asking you anyway. YES I WANT TO OPEN THIS PICTURE WITH THE GALLERY WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!

10 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

YOU SAID YES TO A JPEG, BUT THIS WAS A PNG SO I'M GOING TO ASK YOU AGAIN!! OH HEY LOOK, A GIF! WHICH PROGRAM WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO OPEN THAT?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

*rages internally*

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I accidentally clicked it once and suffered a brief existential crisis.

10 years ago | Likes 233 Dislikes 3

But I remember that fear as well

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

do you know how to change that? i know that it always say where to change that, but i have never read it, and at this point i dont 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

have any more app that would ask me that

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

settings > apps > [the app you want to un-always] > clear defaults

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've clicked it and it still prompts me. I just gave up.

10 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

It will prompt again if you install a new app that uses the same protocol, or uninstall the previous primary app for it.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It's fairly easy to undo

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

How doES one undo it?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

go to settings>apps>click on the app you were using when you accidentally disavowed> clear defaults.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

ie, using chrome to look up video and accidentally clicked 'always' for using YT app>>>> go into apps > chrome > clear defaults.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Is this an android thing?

10 years ago | Likes 216 Dislikes 9

Yeah, they're plebs.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

ya

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Burn the apple heretic!!

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

yes

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes it is, and we are dozens, DOZENS!!!

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 8

actually millions but who's counting

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. I have my tenth Android phone now and I'd hate to be asked every time. I also make that decision for others.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Yeah, it is. When more than one app can open a certain type of file, you can either choose a default app or choose manually every time.

10 years ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 1

You don't...you can reset individual apps preferences in settings.

Asking the important questions on behalf of iPhone users everywhere

10 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 3

Yes

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

yes, because android doesn't force everything to open in safari.

10 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 3

Safari is our little bitch, and Siri is its pimp.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

When I was a slave (used iOS), I jailbroke it and killed off Siri.

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

Can't you get chrome on iphones?@the

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

(I dropped my phone, caught it, and hit send before checking it)

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yes but no way in hell it'll be the default browser

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

... You can't change the default browser???

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Apple has already decided you are too dumb to make big decisions like that.

10 years ago | Likes 203 Dislikes 17

It's you who can't make that decision. Why do you insist that have to be asked every time? It's two questions, not one.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

It asks when you're in a different app and want to open in youtube or go to the site, or open in google drive for me.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You made me smile

10 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

Of all the things people complain about Apple, My biggest complaint is they are pushing us closer to Idiocracy.

10 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 3

Apple has decided if you want to watch a video, it's pointless asking you what you want to view it in, just play the fucking video.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

No they just only let you watch videos in a single format. Just because you don't understand there's more options out there than mp4, doesn

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

T meann its not incredibly limiting and close minded. If you want media in a different format on Apple, "too bad" is the answer.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Well apparently it helps to avoid the issue op is having so it's not all bad.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

It's not we don't like the xhoice, it's that a better choice might come along and it's frustrating to switch once you've clicked "always"

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Spoken like a true apple user.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Who said it's a problem? It's about having a choice.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Depending on what it is, I leave it as an option. Recently moved to Samsung and it makes the commitment for you. I hate that!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

That's strange, I have an s6 edge and it still asks me.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

My s7 edge asks without an option to set as default and it sets it for me.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My Samsung doesn't

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Which Samsung is it?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Galaxy s5

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nexus master race

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Need something with the build quality of an HTC, OS of a Nexus, and features of a Samsung.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nexus 6 has great build quality - what are you talking about?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So the HTC 10?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Nexus 6p has amazing build quality, plus a finger print scanner, NFC, micro USB type c and everything else needed for the next 2-3 years

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is a little on the large side however

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

USB type C? thanks but I'll stick with my N6.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
