Pears are also safe for dogs to eat as long as the seeds are not ingested. The seeds contain traces of cyanide.

we have a chart like this on our fridge. also one where you store fruit/veg - counter or fridge. I recommend.

My dogs slyly hang around my strawberry patch until they think I'm not looking so they can pick strawberries off the plant to eat.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My dogs favorite fruit was always dingleberries.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Just stick w/ dog food.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ok, stuff with pits bad, got it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Macadamia nuts - keep away from dogs!!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Lemons aren't better, they're sour.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But can cyotes (cyotes? Cyotees?) Eat those things? I know they're better at eating things than the common doggo

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My dog is trying to stay classy. Can he drink wine?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The cyanide in cherries is in the pits. The part that people eat is fine.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Onions are dangerous for dogs too!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not a fruit, but always good to know what's safe/unsafe for your dog

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

HOLD THE FUCK UP. CHERRIES HAVE CYANIDE

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I showed these to my dog, but she ignored them all :/

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Vitamins is a good reason to feed dogs fruit. My dog loves watermelon treats. No Rhine.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fact: Beagles love blueberries

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I've yet to meet a dog that didn't eat blueberries when offered.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That fact is Fantastic

My dog stares me down with the utmost intensity every time I eat a goddamn apple. She fucking loves apples.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cherries have cyanide in them huh?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just in the pits.

We need something like this for cats, but with people food... My cat likes poptarts...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OKAY LISTEN UP, if your cat eats a grape, they're probably fine, just keep an eye on them to make sure they arent acting odd - DON'T PAY $59

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

context: my cat is an idiot and ate a grape, but none of the emergency vets knew what to do bc cats arent usually weird enough to eat graps

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

grapes*, so I had to call the animal poison hotline, and they made me pay $59 before answering. I am still bitter (but happy hes fine)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

(I know this post is about dogs, I just feel the need to share this info and save some people money)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Aren't tomatoes on the list of bad ones also?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think that's only if they're still green? I read that somewhere a while back

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why would you feed dogs fruits, just give them what they want.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Why would I give that to a dog? Plants need it more. It has what they crave.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its what we all crave.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I realize this is a joke, but my dogs will beg for blueberries and raspberries when we have them.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If grapes aren't safe to eat, why would raisins be? Seems redundant to include both

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Because we have labels on peanut jars that say "may contain nuts"

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You'd think so. Some people don't make the grape/raisin connection. Sometimes, people are dumb.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

is there an infographic for cats? as in, what cats can eat from a human's point of view. cats don't give a shit about infographics.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

nothing of the onion/garlic family. some things will make them puke but I can't think of anything very dangerous from the kitchen

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

more cat risk with house plants (im a vet, most cats aren't stupid enough to eat bad food other than plants but there are special ones)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My dog looooooves watermelon

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mine too! She loves a slice of rind with just a touch of watermelom. Gives her the freshest breath too.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No kind for my guy

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Another good one for dogs is pumpkin, my dog loves it

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Especially good for sensitive stomachs. Just add a bit of canned pumpkin to their food (pure/plain pumpkin only, NOT pumpkin pie filling).

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm shocked that grapes and raisins cause kidney failure

8 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 1

Aside from grape ice cream being hard to make and not a flavor highly saught after, this was another reason on why B&J's didn't this flavor

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Some people are so uneducated or oblivious that they literally wouldn't know what raisins actually are....

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think it's important to say can cause - not every single dog which eats any amount of grapes/raisins will get AKI but some might

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

My lab absolutely refuses to eat a grape. He will eat anything else though. He loves uncooked potatoes.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Are there really people that don't know raisins are grapes?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's really a dog by dog basis. Some dogs can eat a ton of grapes and be fine but better to not risk it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Fun fact. Grape ice cream was banned after one of the Ben and jerry guys made it and it killed a lady he was trying to bone's dog.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Was it banned or like "yeah we shouldn't probably make this flavor...too much bad PR"?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've known that story for years and I googled it after I posted that comment and apparently it is 100% fake. Widely known though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fiances dog growing up died of liver failure when he was like 9. Favorite treat everyone fed him? Grapes.

8 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 2

I mean, it's purely anecdotal and if it was the grapes it took a long time, but still

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

TBH I meant this as a joke I was trying to say those were totally different fruits, but I probably should have worded it better.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

You were saying raisins and grapes are totally different fruits???

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its not actually true

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 57

Im on mobile right now. Google the story as to why ben and jerrys dont have a grape icecream

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Actually knew someone who's 1 year old pup died this way, sad but true, at least for that dog

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

sure, if you ignore that it actually is true

Zero proof offered in that article, no indication as to what in grapes could cause it. Also anyone with dogs likely knows grapes don't kill
