I fostered Polly and fell in love. She’s been in my house since last November and we officially adopted her in February.

She came to me with a tail-pull injury. Not sure how it happened but she’ll likely never have control over her butt.

She needs meds twice a day, her butt wiped daily, and we find surprise poops around.

But idc. LOOK AT THOSE EYES.

Pretty eyes

Poop is easier to clean than cat pee.

Yes! She’ll sometimes pee in her sleep but usually on a blanket.

We have a rescue with a franken-butthole, little nugget prizes everywhere. Poor thing has trouble releasing the poop so it normally winds up right outside the box lol. Wouldn't trade her for anything<3

There are diapers for cats, they don't work for her?

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

She hates them and the vet said it would increase her risk of infection.

.... Well, shit.

One of my boys needs his bladder expressed for him. Worth it. The return love is like no other.

How do you know when to squeeze him? Does he let you know he needs to pee somehow? Do you just squeeze him when he’s in the box? This sounds hard AF, tbh. I’d do it, too, for the record; I’m just curious about the details.

It isn’t too bad or too hard. I think most people do it like once in the morning and then once at night.

Pretty much this. I WFH so our routine is once at lunchtime, once before bedtime.

Bladder expressed?

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Do a squeeze to make them pee.

He has an atonic bladder - meaning he can't contract the muscles on his own very well. I have to help squeeze the muscles for him to get him to urinate.

So...it's a cat urine supersoaker....
