Der Holle Rache is by Mozart. And it's a terrible aria to torture a young voice with and could ruin it forever. Shame on the teacher. Even seasoned professionals sing the role carefully because of the vocal gymnastics. It's like asking a child to deadlift 500 lbs.
Mozart wrote that part because he hated the singer, Ferrarese del Bene, who would pull her head back like while singing high and her head forward while singing low. While she would perform this she would bob her head like a chicken.
Great performance! Not to detract from her skills and dedication; but I've heard that if you try to sing this aria if you're too young you can actually injure yourself?
From what I've heard, children who sing professionally get vocal injuries, more often than adult singers, because their vocal cords aren't finished developing. Vocal techniques which are healthy for adults aren't always good for young voices. It takes a teacher specially trained for young voices to help develop that talent to a professional level without injury. Which is rather different from teaching a classroom of 4th graders the basic skills to sing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" in rounds.
Hell's vengeance boils in my heart / Death and despair blaze about me / If Sarastro doesn't feel the pain of death through you / Then you will not be my daughter anymore
“What, I’m right” Randy meme. She was sharp repeatedly but she also is a little kid and will get better over time with practice. The kind of practice you have to put in to make it as a classical vocalist.
It's still incredibly impressive, especially for her size. Opera singing requires huge lungs and incredibly diaphragm control for reverberation. While flawed, to do as well as she does at her age is amazing.
Agreed. This isn't the F5 at the top of a treble clef, but the F6 another octave up. (Guitar is written on a tenor clef, so two octaves. I've never seen a guitar with twenty-five frets, which I think is your point.)

I always loved the queen of the night aria and she is doing it so well. Imagine a better room and better mix for sound.

Her tie isn’t even a tie but let’s not criticize A Minor

Made a Liszt and I've gone Chopin. Be Bach in a few minuets

Far from perfect, but flippin' impressive! (The Queen of The Night aria form Mozart's The Magic Flute, for anyone interested)
kerby233
No doubt she has skills, but damn her voice gets squeaky at the end
walnutbreath
I learned the pressing on someone's stomach technique when Sister Mary Clarence taught Sister Mary Roberts how to vocalize.
celestedrake
I love the Magic Flute. ...That was my thing I played on repeat when young.

Goddamn... kid's got pipes
ScrippyChan
Final note was a bit scuffed. But, then, she's a kid. That was damn impressive.

I've only watched it with the sound off, I'm just gonna assume that she is letting out a rather impressive 42s burp.
OhIfIMust
I was hoping.
Hmuda
That was pretty amazing. Now overdub it with a long burp.

With sound off I definitely thought she was just burping for a really long time.

No wrong piece. This vid above is the aria sung by the Queen of the Night in the Zauberflöte (magic flute)

Story seems to be true, but it's the wrong aria/opera: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cos%C3%AC_fan_tutte

And now I just learned there was a recent Finnish version called COVID fan tutte. Nice.

Having her sing "Leck Mir im Arsche" would send the quite wrong message, I think :P
SirWadeWilson
It's an amazing song about manipulating your daughter to murder someone and laughing about it!
RevolutionOnHerLips
Pfft. I could do this. If I wanted to. I just don't want to. Hmph.

Respect for the girl who claps at the end. She truely appreciates her talent :)
ohrightinthedink
And seems genuinely happy at how wonderful she performed the piece, good friend material...
ChelVanin
I know right? It’s more the smile than the clapping I think. She’s really engaged.
DataBeardFace
As opposed to the rest of us plebes on the intertubes who deride her ability based on the slightest off key sound in her final high note. 🤣

I like how the teacher comes in to make slight adjustments so nothing explodes.
UWAGAGABLAGABLAGABA
It's because she's about to explode - not being able to use her hands since she's Italian.
Ispentfartoolongtryingtocomeupwithausernamebeforejoining
Thanks for explaining that, I was wondering wtf was going on there.
mocosoft
I think the teacher is just checking her form for maximum crazy good vocal things with diagrams and whatnot.
JoeMangoJello
Nothing worse than an exploding diagram.
TheDeathstick
Sorry…I’m Muttley laughing over here because I caught that.
Derfboy
Ok. I thought there was nothing worse but catching it is probably the worst thing possible.
TheDeathstick
And if you catch it, go see a doctor and get rid of it!!

Last I checked.... Isn't Sarastro married to the Queen of the Night, and the aforementioned daughter's father?

Bit of an ask... "Hey, kill your dad for me or I disown you"

she even alternates cackling with chortling musically (:

Sounds like she's hitting the F that would be on the 25th fret of a guitars high E string. 1,396.9Hz.

came here for this comment. my parallel thought was about a violin string, but same concept
notacobra
Ehhhhh I lack perfect pitch so I can't tell you what the names of the notes are, but her second highest and highest are both just slightly sharp.
