ONE YEAR IN THE MAKING: OP DELIVERS (A Smile Every Day "Selfie Inception" video)

I promised to deliver this one week after the last day of the Smile Every Day Project, but it took me way longer than I thought to put the video together.

As promised, here are the stats for the entire year... enjoy!

The most frequently asked question was: "Have you noticed that this is increasing your level of happiness?" The short answer is yes and no.

Here are the 2 biggest insights:

1) You can't fake happiness
Instead of creating happiness, the project turned more into "let's remind myself of the happiness that already exists in my life, that I have forgotten about." Faking happiness can be a good starting point for changing your mood, but it's exhausting to keep it up if it doesn't turn into something genuine.

2) Happiness is in the eye of the beholder.
I got a lot of comments saying that my smile looked more fake on some days than others. Sometimes it was true. Sometimes it wasn't at all true. People project what they want to see into others. Whatever people see in your smile says more about them than it does about you.
