I'd be careful pulling her hair into such a tight bun it can cause traction alopecia. Let the fuckbois with samurai haircuts get it instead

My mom didn't know how to do fancy things like this. She'd always just brush my hair for me and I'd wear it down. Congrats to this dad.

The truth. I'm a girl and I need braiding lessons for my daughter...
Honestly, I'm just not dexterous. If I could braid with my mind, no problem.
No shame I can't braid my mom busy doing other stuff and my kids are male.
McKavian
I'm a male and i'v been growing my hair out. I may need lessons in how to braid my own hair.
McFluffySundae
Im sure I will be learning all about man stuff myself seeing as I'm a single mom of a boy. I hope I can be as awesome as this dad!

This is fine, but my husband got complimented at the store just for holding our baby. There is much less expected of fathers for some reason

Yeah, I can get where this person is coming from. They're wrong on this one, but I get it. I doubt it's just because they hate men.

What pisses me off about people like envyaadams is they would then turn around and expect me to like type-A's just because they're women.
Because it clearly couldn't be that I just find high power money obsession to be insufferable, it's gotta be the vaginas.
newimgurscreenname
Are you saying people give you shit for not going after successful women?
No, but any time you talk shit about some powerful, type-A woman, CLEARLY YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH STRONG WOMEN DON'T YOU, YOU SEXIST PIG?
And oddly enough, nobody ever seems to have a problem with me when I talk shit about powerful, type-A men.
That's the key right there. If you talk shit about both, fuck em.
Yes but is there a class to do black girl hair? Not a single dad but trying to do my daughter's hair is very funnnnn.
YouTube and Google is how I learn almost everything as an adult.
truckingdemon
amen to that. people just need to understand basic differences and except/praise it instead of demeaning it for personal vendetta.

My wife & I are adopting. We are white but may adopt a black child. We will learn how to do black hair. This is basically what this dad did.
Hairdos in African American culture are cornerstone. But natural hair looks best, to me
Braiding, etc. *is* natural hair. It’ll ultimately be up to the child to choose how to wear her hair, but we will want to care for it right.
I think it looks amazing natural.
drivergrrl
I can't do any girly stuff my mom was busy working 14 hours a day. Hung out with guys. Can change a tire, no idea how to dress pretty.
blahblum
Mum was always a simple person with straight hair. I have wild curls. She never knew what to do with them. Took me years to figure it out.
Kept cutting it short and shopping from the gents section. The shorts and pants are so much more comfortable! Learning how to dress up..
I wish I did know how to do girl stuff, but maybe it shouldn't matter?

So mothers are expected to know how to do hair and pass that down, but not fathers? That confirms everything envyadams said was true.
But keep celebrating about this epic "burn" in your imagination. Women are expected to know how to do hair. What was false?
And how is it "man-hating" to point something out? Singe mothers get shit on for everything.
A single mother would be told that they are ruining their children's lives by not having a father around. There's a disparity here.
