And the Newfies were the first to give big ass donations to his cause, and they were the poorest province too.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He did more for his cause in half a year than most of us could even hope to accomplish in a lifetime. Thank you, Terry.

As a Canadian originally from Ottawa, Terry Fox Drive was part of my daily commute. Super proud.

One of the greatest Canadians ever!! I remember when he came through my town! Such a hero. Thanks OP!

He is the reason why I don't buy the "let's justify what Lance Armstrong did act. Terry Fox raised millions with heart and soul not steroids

There is a 30 for 30 Documentary by ESPN about Terry Fox. Go check it out, it is fantastic.

Directed by Steve Nash.

Canada is not sorry for this one!

Blows my mind that some people don't know him. Being Canadian. We celebrated every September in school.

As a Canadian, no apologies for Terry Fox's badassery

12 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I recall hearing on the radio that he had died. I cried my eyes out. I was 9

12 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

He actually stopped right outside of my home town. We have a statue and a look out over Lake Superior where he stopped dedicated to him :)

12 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I am so proud to be Canadian! Also - I'm honored to have the same birthday as him!

Terry Fox Day! Run around the track, then eat some bbq. Canadian elementary school tradition.

12 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 0

We had a run through our neighbourhood. More fun.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yup, also watch a quick documentary about him.

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

For those that don't know, he only stopped where he did because his cancer finally won :( he wanted to go all the way across Canada

That makes the map sad.

I adore your wording, my friend

Every year in school, grade primary to 12, we would do a school wide terry fox run.

12 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I grew up in Singapore and we used to do a Terry Fox Run there too. He inspired people all around the world.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here! I think every school in Canada has it. It's awesome.

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure most schools in Canada do this. Which is really awesome to think about.

Damn, I just walked 37 kms with 2 legs and whinged all night about it. Now I feel ashamed. Good guy Terry Fox.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He actually ran across an ocean? This guy is hardcore as fuck!

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ESPN did a 30-for-30 on him. I cried like leetle gurl.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that must have been so painful back then, with that type of prosthetic....

12 years ago | Likes 167 Dislikes 0

As a canadian, in school we had to watch a documentary about him. it mentions how his stub would be bruised and bloodied. 1/2

12 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

2/2 along with his other foot because it would have to carry almost all his weight.

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's not a prosthetic, that's a 2x4 with a trainer nailed to it. Must have been in so much pain the entire time.

12 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

The look on his face would seem to confirm this =\

12 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

That's the face I make when I'm running with two legs.

12 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

For a moment I thought his shirt said "Marathon of Hop", which would make this picture darkly humorous.

12 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 8

Marathon of Hip was supposed to meet the Marathon of Hop halfway through Canada. This is why the prairies don't produce any good rap today.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh god, that was a dark laugh I just had. Thanks.

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0
