"You can't complain if you're dead!" - musk probably

"We have finally investigated the food we seized 8 months ago and discovered an unacceptable level of rot and decay. We have now shut down the farms responsible."

Trump will just declare that no inspections are necessary. Then we will get an outbreak of invasive pests that harm our food supply and Trump will declare that a liberal plot to deceive you. It will get worse and he will tell you it will magically go away overnight. It will get worse and he will come up with goofball ideas that he thinks would fix it but they won't. It will get worse and his cult will claim that nothing is happening and everything is fine.

There's no "may" about it, people are already dying.

Thanks Trump !

They'll just eliminate more safety regulations, grant legal protections to companies selling unsafe goods (as quid pro quo for companies that publicly show their support for this administration), and blame all problems on foreigners, minorities, liberals, vaccines, socialism, "wOkE," conspiracy theories, etc.

Salmonella, botulism, rat droppings, why worry about those silly things?

Department Of Gutting Efficacy

The idea will then come that we should either get rid of the department.... OR as a "compromise"hire this new Musk food inspection business.

Yeah, because they totally have moral integrity too high to sell their products uninspected.

I've got this nagging suspicion that hungry masses are actually a goal. I've started wondering this after the administration opened the Cali. water reserves which are relied upon by farmers.

Never use the acronym; always call it the department of government efficiency. Using the acronym elides the ostensible purpose of the department

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

no, you have it backwards. Saying efficiency tied to that pile of bs is propaganda for their side, it's just leon's doge.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bah, they'll just achieve a industrialist wetdream, a inspectionless food supply. They'll cram so much junk, it's barely going to be food again.

How much sawdust can you put in bread before you notice... also a taste test challenge https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HJxWYbP_9hs

They'll replace half the wheat in bread with sawdust for profit if they think they can get away with it.

Meanwhile RFK JR wants to do away with all food dyes……

hmm it's almost like government is a model unique to government and each position was created for a reason.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh. You sweet summer child. They're not gonna rot while they wait for inspection, they're going to get sent out without inspection. -- Which is worse.

Maybe his comments about 3rd world countries were more in line with him wishing to make the US into one, permanently.

Project 2025 is clear, the goal is profit for corporations and control for a failing religion. It's a recurring theme. Hopefully everyone has read it by now. https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf

That's the plan, create as much chaos as they can to distract so many people so that Putin can make his next moves on Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, starting WW3... fucking moron, and the dumbshits... that voted for this.

Oh, when I'm sure when the nuclear bombs go off after he invades Poland, we'll hear about it.

And no vaccine unless you're in S Korea or China. Luckily the mortality rate isn't super high. It's still high enough to be a concern. Anyone who isn't concerned when death is avoidable do not think death will ever find them, which is arrogant and foolish. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7002362/

The other day Trump was bitching about how Europe doesnt import any American meat, crops and produce... the reason is that it already isn't up to EU standards due to pesticides and steroids.

So now, genius businessman that he is, out comes his next gambit: "Everyone will be lining up to buy our food If we make it all a little more expensive, and also stop inspecting and regulating it! Everyone wants unregulated food, right?"

Masterful.

The numbers of departmental government employees I've seen are shocking, but while I realize that the government is huge, I also instinctively realize that there's got to be a lot of trimmable fat. The problem with what's going on, though, is that DOGE is looking at the numbers, not the reasons behind the numbers, and as a result, people are losing their jobs simply because they've got them, NOT because their jobs are unnecessary.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

your instincts are wrong, people are responsible for making sure work gets done, putting all that work on less people will always be less efficient. Think about having twice as much work at your job, you will never be more efficient if your workload doubles for no reason, especially if it you have to hunt down the pieces of the other job because nobody left knows what it was.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People always say there has to be fat. Well, that's why you inspect things to see if you're right or not. You can't just assume there's fat and start cutting.
For instance, the social security system is the most efficient government agency on the planet, or thereabouts. It's administered by a minimum amount of employees and hasn't missed sending out a check since inception. That's about to change.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're correct, but only up to a point. The way the budget process works is you've got to spend all of what you're budgeted, i.e., justify what you've asked for, or they'll cut your budget next year. Accordingly, SOME money is spent because it's there, rather than because it's for a necessary expenditure. I can't begin to guess how much fat there is or where it is, but it's literally impossible for there to be none.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The fat as you call it isn't people. Budgeting a salary to hit your cap isn't a thing, you buy a printer or an espresso machine, or a fleet of bearcats, you don't hire a bunch of folks to sit around doing nothing.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, you don't hire a bunch of folks to sit around doing nothing, you spread the workload to justify having hired the people you've hired. If you seriously believe that not a single one of the hundreds of thousands of government employees is redundant, I've got a bridge to sell you.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

if you think all of the thousands Leon has fired are redundant, I've renovated your bridge for easy sale, you now owe me $50k.

This was inevitable after they did away with the Clean Water Act. They are actively trying to make us sick so private healthcare makes more money “trying to cure” us of what wouldn’t exist if he hadn’t made these decisions. They want us weak so we cannot fight them
