People had other expectations. I still lliked it and I think once again, the vast majority of people is jumping on this hate train because nowdays IMDb tells you if you like a movie or not
You know how sometimes an audience reacts to a movie that misses the point the movie was trying to make? Think Fight Club and so many dudes walking away with the message "Tyler Durdin is so cool!" Well, in this case, the director made a sequel to deconstruct that love. It might also be a bad movie too, but a lot of edgelords are just super mad that it "ruins" Joker as a character. Frankly, I'm loving every second.

My friend said the musical parts were boring and slow. A movie can be anything, but it better not be boring.

Joker 1: hey look at this absolutely terrible person who does dumb shit and acts like he's a hero, even though he's despicable.
Audience: yeaaaaahhh joker is a badass. He's a hero against woke government!
Joker 2: hey, remember how we said joker was a despicable person? Well if you like him, so are you, so we're making this movie everything you hate.
Audience: aaahhh why is there singing!? Where's batman!?
(But also, the movie sucked. It was just funny watching the right flip out at it)

The added benefit is since it's a musical they would have fight music.

First Joker movie was just Taxi Driver in clown paint

I like how MovieBob put it that this is a movie that actively hates its audience.

So what happened? The first movie was every alt-right incel's wet dream of a movie. Why is the second considered so bad?
