I'd be floating on top like some kinda human oil slick.

This is one of the most awkward physical activities to do ever

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

My dog injured his spine and spent 6 mos. rehabbing in one of those things. Totally worked and he had a blast.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

That looks fun AF... wonder how much those things cost though. I assume this is at some high-end professional sports facilities.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've seen them in veterinary hospitals too. They're for rehab.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

youre making the WHOLE FLOOR WET

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

...and the chick above you haha

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not even he is half as wet as me right now - golly, I want to be handsome.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"keep the water in the damn tub!!" - my mom probably

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

If that's only 4'2" of water then that guy is short af

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

He is 6'1"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Step 1: be rich or a professional athlete

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Also used in rehab. Even veterinary hospitals have them. I know this because I'm an epidemiologist and they're often teeming with...things.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He has got the booty.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Devonte Wilson, Kansas State, Football and Track & Field Athlete.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thank you.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's clearly no ladder..does it drain and fill itself?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I need one of those for my weapon-X training program

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Treadmill full of sweat

8 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 3

Looks like it's actively cycled with the pipes coming off the front of it

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Can you imagine what the athletes 10 years in the future are going to be capable of with innovation like this?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How running in a dream feels

8 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

You try and try...but never get away. Its like being stuck in a bog.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why is it that so many people have that same sensation? The human brain is fuckin weird

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well whatever this does it's working. He got da booty tho

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

And whenever you get tired you can you know.....drown

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now fill it with molasses.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

TAKE MY MONEY!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The one issue I would have with this is the splashing. Unintended splashing is something that annoys me no end. That's just me though.

8 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 3

Just intend to splash. Problem solved.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What about when you make the ladies go sploosh?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That is a significantly different type of splash and is not unintended.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You are not alone.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This made me very upset as well.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I could not stop watching the splashing, I guess they locate it somewhere with a floor drain? the electronics?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Splashing...and the associated electrocutions!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Electronics can be water proof. This company does full room setups for hospitals.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How much of that is sweat? Also....you trip, you die! O__O

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Guess my planet fitness won't be getting these huh?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Aquaman

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But why?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

Water resistance makes it even tougher to move around

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

real good for those getting over knee/ankle issues too as it reduces impact

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Yeah that's true!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because the water holds up your body so you can do things you couldn't do on land. Still makes you tired af though, when you get out of it.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

aah I see. Thanks ^_^

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I haven't tried a treadmill like this, but I have done exercises in a pool. Makes you feel a lot less tired while you're working out,but 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

if you've really worked out you can barely stand as you get out of the pool. Your body feels 10x heavier. But it's great! 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

wow, yeah I can imagen that. I have done ''gymnastics'' in water and also been training leader for a group, mostly seniors. That was fun.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have more questions.

8 years ago | Likes 390 Dislikes 8

So it fills up while you're in it? I can't imagine they'd climb into it when the water is already that high.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Less strain on the joints, and it engages the rest of the body's muscles more

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Answer is 42

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

the answer is always 42

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah. Me too....pee in it. What if you peed?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like what happens if you pass out?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Physical Therapy.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The mitochondria powers all of this

8 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 0

It's mitochondrias all the way down :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Its like the Jar Jar Binks of the cell.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But why? Is it because the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then ask your questions.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

I too have a few as well.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

You should ask your questions too.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Agreed! This was my exact reaction when I saw this.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The main one being, what's the benefit of this vs just swimming or walking across a pool? Then, are clothes mandatory?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

walls need to be higher

8 years ago | Likes 799 Dislikes 11

Or a platform that encases the water, leaving room for his head. Also, controls would have to be underwater

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

or a lid

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 158 Dislikes 6

As a mexican i really agree with this mr. Trump!!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Judging from the 4'2" markings, I suspect he has it too full for his level of activity in the device.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Or yaknow the cheap rote, a drain in the floor.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nope. Currents created during activity need to be analyzed and directed into a loop. This will eliminate wave chop.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was thinking the same.... either it's terribly designed, been filled up too high, or they didn't expect people to do more than walk in it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Less water

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 11

Less water would mean less buoyancy for him; Water level is probably calibrated to each person's height to get the desired buoyancy.

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

He's too tall.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

BOOM! it just got 10 feet higher!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Mr. President?

8 years ago | Likes 484 Dislikes 6

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

+1 for Fairly Odd Parents. Never see those

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

You deserve this +1

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thank you sir, I needed that

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

+1 to you sir

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I hate you for this but it made me laugh. +1

8 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 1

It adds resistance to running so it trains the muscles harder, makes it easier to run without the resistance.

8 years ago | Likes 988 Dislikes 18

So do hills

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah but you aren't then actually propelling your own mass the same way either. Aside from the splashing I like it

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It also helps for those nightmares where you're running away from a wolf

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Like Goku's gravity training

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The resistance will never be intimidated by you.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

*without the knee demolition

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Oh fuck, I would love this!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It reminds me of when you try to run in a dream but can't quite.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ugh I hate that feeling

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And I bet it feel FANTASTIC being as cooled the entire time you're moving.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Water warms up depending on how long you can last. It warms up surprisingly fast, too.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

WAIT RLY

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can't imagine wanting any part of sentence.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's similar to a kicking your legs while swimming, not a great deal on resistance but more than air.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

so like gokus 100g training?

8 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

Or Ussop's 5ton hammer?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Should call it the Hydrobolic Running Chamber

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

actually goku's 100g training would kill your knees so fast!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not really, no

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Mainly used for rehabilitation

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Are...are you ok?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Conjecture or sauce?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

complete conjecture

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I call BS on that assessment. Low impact physical therapy after injury is my guess.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

as high altitude cardiovascular endurance training. There is less oxygen so your body becomes acclimated to less oxygen so when you go (2)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

back down to sea level, you are a beast. (3/3)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You should try getting shot several times before you run. I heard it helps your body acclimate to bullets so that they will affect you less.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, that is how it works. All the experts agree that being shot several times will make you bullet proof.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No. It adds resistance to running so it trains the muscles harder, makes it easier to run without the resistance. It's the same principle(1)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Plausible but any evidence?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. 90% of the info on the hydroworx.com page was about therapy excercise and not about gains bruh. Also reply to your comment as 1/

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It puts resistance on movement. It 100% will build muscle. Are you new to exercising?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Opposed to just putting it all under the same reply so it is in reverse chronological order when reading replies.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wrong.. it's for athletes going through rehab

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

what if you're fat and you float?

8 years ago | Likes 102 Dislikes 4

Now you can run without putting your joints in agony

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Lower the water level until you don't.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Use cold water to transfer heat from the body. Requires lots of energy to keep body temp up.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Same reason why swimmers burn more calories for the same amount of exercise as non-swimmers.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So you're saying to lose weight I just need to freeze myself? I'm pretty sure Eric Cartman has done this.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's even better. Freezing will burn fat directly and not use carbs.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or... Just driving weights?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah the ole concrete shoes. Fat Tony was just tryna help that jamoke exercise!

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

also less impact on joints I believe

8 years ago | Likes 442 Dislikes 2

Yep. Used for both purposes.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

This is really the main reason, it doesn't really increase resistance very much.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 18

It does increase resistance ALOT, but that doesn't provide much functional/useful adaptati

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The whole point is to limit impact. The mechanics and speed are too off to train running speed

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Would be better if they were able get the flow towards him

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you never run in the water along the beach?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I have run in water, but in this situation your torso is not moving relative to the water. It's more similar to treading water.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You do have some increased resistance but not like pushing your body through water.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This would be easier than that, because you're not actually going forward

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not saying it isn't harder though

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Actually yeah that would make a huge difference..

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

as somebody who can barely walk and not even dream of ever running again I'd really like to try this thing

8 years ago | Likes 2411 Dislikes 21

Can u swim? I don't want you drowning on us

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

As somebody with bad knees and back, I need this in my life.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

After being hit by a tanker truck running over 70+mph part of my therapy was hydro therapy because of back damage and it helped.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was in an accident that really messed up my knee and this thin was a saving grace, although running in it is in a while nother' level

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it's heaven on bad knees and hips...even lower backs

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me too, after having my back and leg tore up in the military I can't even jog well anymore. This looks amazing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are swimming pools at every YMCA...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same. Do you think any insurance will ever cover this? It would be so amazing for even 5 minutes...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have troubles walking and running is gone like skiing or skydiving or almost anything. It's why I like swimming.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is not easy. Only less impact on joints.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was gonna say the same. I need something like this for rehab without risking further harm. I have not enough balance to do it on the beach

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Go walking in your local pool! It's amazing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

<----also got shit bones..this looks like something I could actually do well.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fucking should strap you on to scuba gear and become our aquaman bro.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here. I've done normal hydrotherapy and still was arse over tit. This is worlds away from what I'd ever hope to achieve again.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Water therapy has been helpful for stroke victims. Not revolutionarily helpful, but helpful

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As someone who's fat and sweaty, I think this thing would be good for me too.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What happened? If it's not to nosy, was it a gradual loss of mobility or sudden ?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ooh. Look up alter g treadmills too. And vasper workout

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

+1 for alter g

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Have you used it? I'm curious but also not injured enough to start a session.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do water jogging at my gym, it's amazing. Its great being able to run and not be crying in pain.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I used to go to hydrotherapy when I wasn't allowed to walk and that was excellent. See if there's a pool near you.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

unfortunately it's not that easy. I can't get out of most pools b/c ladders are no good as I also can't move my arm

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The one I went to had a hoist. And that was just a wee nhs one! It really was lovely not to be using crutches and to be able to move.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was a specific hydrotherapy pool, in a hospital.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...why not just go to a pool?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Many people. Busy. Can get bumped and fall. This is private, your environment is 100% controlled, zero embarrassment or worry.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

also: most pools have ladders and I wouldn't be able to get out again

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hello! I work in the medical field. Look into getting a RX for physical therapy in a facility with an aquaciser. This has helped so many

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

As a Physical Therapist who works in sports and conditioning, these aqua treadmils are more effective for working on form and not 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2/2 super effective for people trying to rehab from joint surgeries or somebody looking for low impact cardio.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't have "mechanical" problems. it's muscle control b/c of a stroke. I've been to a few rehabs. none offered anything with water

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So what is effective for joint injuries and low impact cardio?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cycling is good low impact cardio. Joint injuries would depend on which joint, what injury.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Id also love to try this. My knees are getting destroyed by regular running and my achilles tendon tore 2 times, cant run anymore.

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Try rollerblading :) no impact.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Know your pain, I had a complete Achilles rupture, no bueno.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I started the year with surgery to fix the same problem

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've always liked elliptical machines for very low-impact exercise. Now if only I could work up the desire to exercise.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

On another note, got my running stopped 6 months ago (hip), been cycling for a few weeks now, it's not a bad replacement.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Bike hurts my bottom

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought about buying a spinning bicycle for home, thing is expensive...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Buy a roadbike and free rollers instead!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

how much do you run? any significant previous injuries?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im also overweight but not much, 178cm 80kg (5'10, 176lbs)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No injuries beforehand, most distance Ive run is 5km (~3 miles) in about 35 minutes. My shoes are good and Im not running on concrete.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

jeez, 3 miles isn't _that_ much...do you do that every day or something? how many years? sorry, man that sucks.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nope, 3-4 times a week. First time I was doing it for about 2 years till my tendon tore, after that about a year till the 2nd tear. I guess

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 my anatomy just sucks and I wasnt built for running.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would think this is easier on those with bad knees or joint problems

8 years ago | Likes 708 Dislikes 1

Exactly, i have to use things liek the x trainer because ive fucked my knee so much.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anti-G machines work similar, it help to put less weight to your leg, great for recovery

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Think of all the extra resistance. That's strength/endurance training too!! Omg, it hurts to watch!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

as someone with bad knees, where do i find this

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Also, no sweat!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What about people suffering from Pes Cavus or "hollow foot"?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

or someone whos so overweight that they cant really walk

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Used in the NFL on runningbacks with knee/lower body injuries as rehab all the time from what I understand

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's meant for resistance training. Some professional athletes have been using them for a while now.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There's also zero gravity running... this seems like it's more for resistance training with less impact on the joints. try ULTRA-G

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This one is certainly easy on the eyes...

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

my problem is that my brain is broken and doesn't control my muscles as well any more so I could try this without the risk of falling

8 years ago | Likes 355 Dislikes 1

We have a guy come in with his wife to swim laps at the YMCA and he rolls up in his wheelchair and does his exercises for 30 or so min

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep I have MS and I was thinking this same thing.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have the same issue after my brain surgeries. I'd love to try this.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

QWOP?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

That was my question as well

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My legs don't work right but it's because of muscle spasticity. I'm glad I don't have MS

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0
