Hey imgur, this is the first time I'm putting my art out there and I'm kinda nervous. If people like it I'll post more. I just wanted to share something that makes me happy with the community, and hopefully you guys will like it. I took the photo this painting is based off of when I was sailing from Massachusetts to Puerto Rico. Sorry the picture is shit quality.

It does look like a photo, but other than that it's very boring.

@OP, I have a book recommendation for you - "The War of Art." Just trust me, a stranger from the internet.

I stared at it for a minute waiting for the gif to load before I realized it was a painting. Nice job!

Nice, it's awesome that you made it. Makes me feel kinda sad and relaxed at the same time, is it possible? I really enjoyed it. Thanks.

imo perfectly captures the dual-nature of the ocean as both a gentle, relaxing provider while still great and mighty and mysterious

Might be a weird thing to observe, but I've been looking at art today: I like the paleness. I like how it's mainly white-gray with ...

... only some blue and only some darkness. You limited your color range, and made that color range the ocean and weather. Awesome.

this actually look like that planet where the people visit in interstellar and the water planet has a massive wave

It's pretty good bit I don't see any happy little trees or a spot where a bird can put their foots. So...5/7 sorry

I would hang that on my wall!
