Piper gained popularity due to his job chasing wildlife away from runways, making it safer for planes and wildlife here in Northern Michigan. Sadly he lost his battle with cancer yesterday.
From his handler, Brian Edwards... "Piper passed away tonight peacefully in my arms after fighting a year-long battle with prostate cancer. He fought valiantly, and we did everything we could, but sometimes life just has to take its course."
