Risk of death was 11 times more likely in unvaccinated individuals from COVID-19 and 10 times more likely to be hospitalized compared to fully vaccinated individuals. I always chortle when I hear about the risk of pericarditis in the vaccine, which I say, risk in comparison with what? 1-5 cases per 100,000 doses in young men vs 20 - 100 cases per 100,000 from the actual infection.

I know a woman who got caught up in an anti vaccine bubble during Covid. Of course she became ill, got hospitalized and since then claims to have long covid and has not worked a day. The long covid might be true but it also secures her of income without working.

I got long covid, i was really sick for 6 months, but not so much i needed hospitalization.
I couldnt eat because nothing stayed down, i had the worst headaches in my life, my whole body was throbbing, feeling like eveeything was broken, i couldnt walk straight and i often crouched as i would otherwise throw up, and then i coughed a shit ton makin everything worse.
I was 6 months of pure hell, and some of these things never stopped again..
Im getting vaccinated this year..

I had booming headaches for almost 4 years, my sight changed and i needed new glasses, i still battle a bad nausea some days, and i apparent have asthma now, some days im sitting in my chair doing abseloute nothing and i will start having trouble breathing.
I also have blackouts when i stand up.
And i need more sleep then before..

I could have worked maybe partime before (due to mental health) but now i cant work at all.
I show the exact symptoms of someone with a long lasting concussion, i know that because my MIL got one and we share so many symptoms, and we asked the staff at the clinic she get help from and they agree, long covid suffers show same symptoms as people with a concussion.
I didnt die, i dint get hospitalized, but my life is ruined because of the covid, and "long covid" is not a valid illness either here..

Wife and I are very pro vaccine despite her being one of about 1 in a million that the vaccine caused her permanent transgeminal neuralgia. The left side of her face constantly feels like it's on fire, hit with a shovel, stabbed with ice picks, excruciating, constant, never-ending pain. It has basically ruined her life and destroyed our finances. Still pro vaccine though. Who knows who didn't get killed because she got it?

Sorry to hear about your wife. If the anticonvulsant medicines haven't helped, (carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, gabapentin, pregabalin, lamotrigine, topiramate, or phenytoin) has she considered baclofen or Botulinum toxin A? Or has she gone through considerable surgery? It's a rough condition, and often resurfaces despite surgery.
She probably shouldn't get vaccinated again. But that's okay. She'll benefit from herd immunity, but only if everyone else does their duty and gets vaccinated.

Gabapentin is the only one she can take and she is at max dose and needs to start weening off it, cuz causing memory issues+other. Plus, it barely works. After 3.5 years she was finally approved for bot A. Got first dose last week. Minimal results so far, but def jaw improvement. All other areas still full force, but they say 2nd dose is more noticeable. Surgery not an option, except gamma knife, which has high permanent damage likelihood with no guarantee of relief.
