I saw one of these in flight while driving down the interstate a few years ago. Looked like a freakin' pterodactyl.

Baby birds grow singular body parts at a time so they're all awkward stages. Big adult feet on a lil fluffball or big body lil head are two of my favorite genres.

The Great Blue Heron's initials are "GBH", which also stand for Grievous Bodily Harm. Anyway these birds are common on the upper river, but frequently visit the lower river in the fall to fatten up on high-value prey (college freshmen) for the winter.

GBH does also NOT stand for Gamma-hydroxybutyrate. Fun fact

Ayy, glad to see I'm not the only one that always misreads/mishears GBH as GHB
