Reminds me of a more complex version of one I had as a kid. Me and my sister fought over light on or off and broke it.

We've had one of these we bought on our honeymoon. We just bought a house and are debating what room to put it in.

Not over engineered enough.

i just want one like https://cdn.thingiverse.com/renders/66/a7/36/f5/56/switchplate2_preview_featured.jpg

There are plenty of sellers with these on Etsy. I got mine for $10 & love it!

Nice! I have two of the first one; wasn't aware there were so many other varieties.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is like hipster DLC for shut that already works

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

What?! No gif?! I'm a little disappointed

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

very cool but i dont need any extra things that could break

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why the hell are these not with an actual switch to wire in??? This is like a really hot Woman with a 70´s blow up doll vage

I have gear earrings by this guy! I get tons of compliments!

Instructions unclear, I think I've just quantum leapt. Ziggy, help please.

I wish we could have something like this, but: http://www.eggetronics.net/bilder/19717.jpg

I waited way too fucking long for a gif to load that never came... I am ashamed.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

really cool. nice at night probably

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

but what if it's a light that has two different switches? Sure, one changes, but the other doesn't.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it might be over-engineered just a smidge

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some of them are reversed...wouldnt work

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just bought one of these!!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Love the look. Not terribly durable.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i like my light switches simple bc i operate them in the dark literally half the time. i dont need some steampunk wannabe bs complicating it

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

Honestly these are probably 10x easier to use in the dark. Large, easily grabbable knobs and most are still simple up/down motion.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

gears =/= steam punk

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's still just a switch it doesn't change how that works..

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Uh yes.... when the gears and levers get in the way of fumbling in the dark, it doesn't work anymore as a lightswitch

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

How the hell will they get in the way? The switch still sticks out

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

...and is surrounded by gears that, if not operated by the crank, don't move without breaking.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The switch is what moves them.. The cranks are there for looks

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Literally cool for two days, then you have to function as an "adult" and not funny anymore.

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 4

It's probably fine, the lifespan of wooden gears isn't great.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't get what about these doesn't let me function as an adult

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I have not functioned as a adult in the last twenty six years. I don't think it is going to start happening in two days.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

but maybe it will stop my toddler from doing the onoffonoffonoffonoffonoffonoff or at least develop some sweet fine motor skills for his age

I was thinking if you're mad at something and you have to fiddle with it, its getting ripped off the wall.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Exact thing happened with me and mine. Luckily, the wood break was clean, and a little glue fixed it right as rain.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

hahahaha. Is that what you do? When you get mad, you punish your light switch? LOL

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

That's what i do

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

if im having a bad day and my light switch wants to play fucks with me then it will not survive my wrath

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

oh yeaaa.. I was supposed to buy one of these off etsy like a year ago. it's still in my damn cart.

9 years ago | Likes 176 Dislikes 0

They're useless trust me. My brother bought it as decoration for his office but rather than that it's useless.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Might mean you don't want it too much :)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Ye it's pretty expensive too

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
