actually is not, "xie" is pronounced using the third tone, and when two third tones are together (xie xie) the first one change to 2nd tone

You're right and wrong. 谢 is pronounced with 4th tone, not 3rd, but that makes the second 谢 a neutral tone, so it is two tones, technically.
