Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal turns out to be quite a complicated process, relying on fascinating optomechanical phenomena.

Anti-Gravity Wheel

This video explains how a 90kg spinning wheel can become "light as a feather" without breaking any of Newton's Laws.

http://youtu.be/tLMpdBjA2SU

Gyroscopic Precession

Regarding the last video, what is gyroscopic precession? This is incredibly important when considering the physics of helicopters. (More on that in the third installment)

Simple Math

Try adding these numbers along with the audience.

Ants Can Count

How do ants find their way home? Turns out, certain desert ants use an internal counting mechanism to remember the number of steps they've taken away from their home. How did scientists prove this?

Broken Logic

A basic introduction to logic, a subject that can get quite complicated rather quickly.

Straw Men

Another introductory logic video explaining straw man arguments. This topic is incredibly important to keep in mind as the political debate season approaches.

The Writer Who Couldn't Read

The story of Howard Engel, a writer who developed alexia (word blindness). Interesting story which sheds light on the compartmental nature of the human brain with regard to vision, language, and penmanship.

Laser tattoo removal also hurts like mothafucka

Upvotes for Last Action Hero explosion, and so I can come back to read these later.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That spinning wheel isn't 90kg, btw..

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

NO. TORQUE IS RADIUS CROSS FORCE. CROSS PRODUCTS ARE NON-COMMUNICATIVE. THIS MATTERS.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You can also see it as the perpendicular force force of the wheel against the radius, gives you magnitude and the direction is given Cross P

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is no anti-gravity. Just shennanigans with weight and force distribution.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Pure Alexia is fascinating.Show an"X"and they can't say the letter, but ask them about the math function and they know it's multiplication.

Why would anyone want to remove a laser tattoo?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe it reminded him of when his history teacher/platoon leader got his legs ate & he had to kill the guy?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just got tattooed and the artist is going through laser removal on his forearm and he says it hurts like 1000x more than getting tattooed

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Truth.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OP, I need a link to Vol. 1 so I can favorget that one too

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#3 90kg is the weight of the dude and the wheel together, not the wheel alone.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The Bruce Springsteen video is from the Ben Stiller Show, which is awesome sketch comedy you should check out.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

+1 because I also messed up the math in #5

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I got... I DON'T UNDERSTAND. I got two different answers! I don't understand?????

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

... I AM SO STUPID. 4100. GOD DAMNIT.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was on on alert about it being a trick, :( disguise this more

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I don't get it. Do you think you could explain it to me? I counted to 5000 but based on popular opinion that's wrong and I need to know.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

you add 1000 when the number is 10. think about it

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

TIL, Laser tattoo removal is power washing of the skin.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Everyone said 5000 and I'm like, "you're all dumb, it's 4900" +1

And then he was like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tlz5tKzLt94

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I didn't get that one. What was the answer..

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

4,100

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

4,100

10 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

4100...i had to watch twice, lol.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I thought ants left pheromone trails.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They do.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's what others thought too, until they tested it with ant stilts and then the ants took the same amount of steps passing the spot.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FEED MY BRAIN!!! thanks OP

Last time a put a . yo save something it got downvoted so I'm leaving this comment to come back to this

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had TWO tattoos removed via laser treatment. It took 15 treatments. It feels like you are popping blisters with FIRE! And very expensive.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The tattoo removal was very interesting!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

ya and the comments section was so full of intellect xD

Straw Man argument is the entire DNC platform. "Todd Akin thinks that women's bodies shut down during rape. So all Republicans think that."

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

...After invoking straw men, you did you seriously not realize the irony in making a hyperbolic statement like that? O_o

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You get all of my upvotes and this adorable kitten.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ok, I admit that was a little bit too deep for most people. I was making the point that it's very hard to avoid star man arguments. My bad.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It doesn't become light as a feather, but it does negate the center of gravity. You're still lifting 90kilograhamcrackers or whatever kg is.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But you reduce the necessary force applied. So you lift the same mass, but different weight because the acceleration to the right

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, this annoyed me.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hmm if anyone has legitimate interest in laser tattoo removal, I'm currently going through the process...

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

What are you getting rid of, where and why ?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Large black net like background to a hummingbird tattoo. The artist failed me...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yesss. I'd been considering for a while, but would love first hand info

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll message you. :)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do! Considering laser removal for one of mine. Would love more details from someone experiencing it first hand.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

For the love of god find a place with a PicoSure laser.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't totally buy into picosure hype. I'm on my 3rd session with a Quanta Q + C qswitch.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've tried Q-Switch and PicoSure.6 q-switch sessions and didn't make much progress.Tat was gone after two PicoSure sessions.Just my exp

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

interesting. 100% gone? maybe if this laser stops working i'll do pico...its just so expensive

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm a laser technician, so fire away!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pun intended?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

With me, usually.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm also in the process! Black ink is easiest, and neons (blues, reds, yellows, etc.) hardest. It is not an immediate process like the (1/?)

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

gif might have you believe. It'll fade like that and reappear after ~15 min... after that the process is a months-long waiting game. (2/?)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll post some photos to you of my progress so far! (3/3)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I added the numbers in the gif. I got 10.

10 years ago | Likes 1619 Dislikes 4

you win

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you an ant?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I watched the gif twice to make sure I counted 10 right...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't have sound on and I counted 4100, when I turned around on at the end they never confirmed, everyone just mumbled a bunch.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

10. How much?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Too complicated dick stuck in fan.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me Too! Man we're good!

10 years ago | Likes 154 Dislikes 0

He is clearly talking about adding the numbers in the Springsteen counting gif. Its really hard to see that 5 at the end.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So far I've gotten 840. Still adding though

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Instructions unclear, created new branch of mathematics.

10 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

I'm still counting.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I got 10000000000000000000000

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The simple math shows how we are used to adding numbers, exactly the way when we were little, we add the numbers in a sorta column. We are(1

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

) wired that since elementary which is why we pause for a second to review the location of the carried number to see if it affects the 1000

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How much?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Half-life 3 confirmed

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No it's 1... 1+0=1

+1 for #9 Lev Yilmaz of Tales of Mere Existence

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's not though... it looks like Robert Krulwich from NPR just happens to be a fan, too. I never knew those videos existed!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It's not what? To be clear I meant Lev Yilmaz who is known for Tales of Mere Existence, and also made this video with NPR

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, my bad. The video is not an episode of "Tales of Mere Existence". I thought you were saying it was.

i kinda liked the tattoo they were removing...reminded me of Orzhova
