...and he's still got all 8 1/2 fingers...

That's a tremendous amount of waste using a full brick for each cut no matter how small.

I know it's nitpicky. the man's obviously skilled at this, but does anyone else feel bothered at the amount of gap left between the curve and the brick as well as each brick being cut convaley meaning it meets at the top with much more missing at the bottom? Like just take the time to cut it more instead of breezing through it. The rest of the brick works immaculate the curved portion looks like it's half assed.

It's a simple but learned and practiced skill. I myself am an industrial electrician and you would be surprised at how little you need to run conduit.
But if you don't know how it might as well be rocket science and unless you've practiced it sure isn't gonna be fast. Which is why the place I currently work at is going to be in trouble when me and the other electrician leave soon. I gave them a heads up and he hasn't.
Maybe low wages and all that yelling wasn't a good choice

What do they do with all the waste bricks

AI will not take his job.

This is like the easiest part of the job though...

Curing obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Why cut at an angle? Not talking about the pattern matching angle, but when he puts the brick into the cutter thing, it’s not flat to the table?

Back pitch to make sure it drops in flush. Square cuts can bind or stick on the way in. Not gonna take ¼" off with that machine to help it fit better. The back cuts to ensure the piece goes in and is not wasted.

Makes sense. Thx!

great skill but im also bothered by the disregard towards the pattern.

That looks like it's really rough on the knees, back, and shoulders, but damn it's good to watch someone who is really good at their job.

It absolutely ruins you. But (at least in Denmark) it pays well, so you can do it for a few years and then read on with money in the bank.

Kneepads are a godsend. He should be using them.

Agreed!

Hell be OK he not wearing any knee pads

3 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I think he is, but they're more like shin pads

He puts the second brick in the wrong direction. It should be turned 90 degrees.

would be possible but only with a wet saw. that brick cutter will only do the short side of the brick. i dont think he cares that much.. its gonna be packed with sand in the next step regardless
