I'm just curious, where are all of those people who flood the posts about the US going "When will you Americans have enough? March on your capital!" but never say the same thing about the UK literally arresting people on terrorism charges for protesting Israel.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thats disgusting but why am I not surprised it was these English bastards and the Balfour declaration that unleashed all this hell on Palestinians all because the English did not want Jews in their backyard. Neither did the Americans as a matter of fact. So in essence, the existence of a Jewish state is a symbol of that.

Fucking onion'esque

This highlights the fact that the UK's PM is morally insane. He does not make consistent moral choices which is probably part of why his government veers irrationally all over the place. Twenty years ago he defended people in court for exactly the 'crimes' (argued and accepted by courts as NOT being crimes) that he now declares terrorism. It's an example of him bring weak and evoking authority over morality when faced with difficult choices.

Having an ideology is often ridiculed in the world of politics (usually by people who have a toxic ideology themselves), seen as something for young un-serious people but Starmer is what you get when you don't have anything underpinning your political beliefs. Everything and everyone is negotiable, nothing is off the table and power for powers sake is the only goal. In that aspect Starmer is morally consistent he changes his stance to whatever he thinks will get or keep power.

Plasticine Action on your sign won't get you arrested either, but it does confuse the police.

So do y'all actually believe this guy is legit in supporting genocide, or do y'all think this is a critique or protest on something else like freedom of speech or something? Because it sounds like his message isn't "I support genocide" but instead "do you think I should suffer consequences for supporting genocide?"

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Please watch the entire "long" video, especially the part where he says that of course he doesn't support genocide.

You can't get arrested merely for saying you're pro or against genocide. You get arrested for being rowdy and aggressive towards the police, for usurping public spaces and universities etc. Watching this self-righteous provocateur play dumb is so cringe.

3 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 86

that may be true in the states but boy howdy do those uk and euro people got it rough with their "freedom of speech" "laws"

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yes, because old people sitting with a sign thats against genocide is very rowdy and aggressive

3 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Old woman right next to him
Not rowdy.
Not aggressive.
In the same public space.

She gets arrested, but not him.

Youre an idiot

Did you create this account just to make this incredibly dumb comment?

3 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Except you *can* get arrested for saying you're against the genocide in Gaza, in the UK. Which is the entire point he's making.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

3 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Yep, all those old folks being super rowdy and aggressive. No, it's because their signs say "I support Palestine Action," which in the UK has been declared a "proscribed organisation." This guy has a good point to make.

3 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

You think the octogenarian women were being rowdy and aggressive toward the police?

3 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

There were literally people getting arrested for having signs against Gaza genocide you muppet

3 months ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 6

The 80 year old woman standing at a fence was too rowdy? Fuck off fascist

3 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Are any of these people in this clip being "rowdy and aggressive"? Are any of them, sitting against railings, "usurping public spaces"?

3 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Of course they're not. You're a troll and I have satisfied your hunger by replying. But regardless: fuck the UK politicians for this crap.

3 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Fuck off nazi

3 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Good point, well made.

I would like to know more particulars about this though. Clearly they’re not being arrested for opposing genocide, it’s probably some BS like unlawful congregation or disturbing the peace or trespassing, but I’d like to know what the people being arrested were doing that he wasn’t.

3 months ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 11

No, they are literally being arrested for opposing genocide. Palestine Action is a group that vandalized (not damaged) a private plane, the connections of the plane owner had Parliament declare Palestine Action a terrorist group, and merely saying that you support Palestine Action is a *crime* that will get you arrested, at the very least. You can be sentenced up to fourteen years. It's *that* fucked up.

3 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 5

Thank you.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

'Palestine Action' was declared a terrorist organisation after spray-painting planes at a UK airbase. Holding a sign that says 'I support Palestine Action' will get you arrested in the UK. Supporting genocide won't.

3 months ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 3

Thank you.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't forget the two guys arrested for wearing a shirt reading "Plasticine Action* even if they were soon released without charge.

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Holding any sign in support of Palestine is conflated to support of Palestine action by the police/courts there and will lead to your arrest. Judges have been throwing out cases thankfully iirc, but idk if theyre the exception or the norm.

3 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 3

I've never seen that happen, only very specifically Palestine Action

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Source? I have never heard of this happening.

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hey, don't white wash the heinous things they did. They also DAMAGED A FENCE!!!

3 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

They sprayed into engines is the big deal thing. Complete rebuild of the engine required I believe 7 million pounds was quoted as the cost

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Will someone PLEASE think of the fence!!

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

3 months ago | Likes 226 Dislikes 6

Its still wild to me they could get into an airbase and right up to the aircraft, on electric scooters no less. That's Russian level security.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same security company as the louvre museum I reckon.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In fairness, the plane was an inanimate object, and there was PAINT in that can!! We'll probably never really know how many people died as a result of the paint incident, but it's almost certainly more than 70,525. I for one, certainly feel safer now that a bunch of grannies in wheelchairs are looking at 15 years porridge for holding up a sign, and i cannot, for the life of me, figure out why anyone could possibly think otherwise.

3 months ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 4

Based on my understanding of the UK via news stories, graffiti is one of the worst crimes you can commit

3 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Well, yeah of course! It’s not something so small as genocide or something, paint can seriously temporarily deface a perfectly good airplane!

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Completely agree that arresting grannies in wheelchairs is complete bullshit, but.... In fairness, spraying paint through the engines of an aircraft is a pretty effective way of ensuring they're not airworthy. A flying gas station suddenly losing propulsion would be a bit more of a headline.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Pretty important distinction to make. It is illegal to show support for a declared terrorist organisation. It is not illegal to show support for Palestine, the Palestinian people, to call for an end of Israel's actions etc.

3 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 7

And how many people have this terrorist group killed? What horrific murders qualified them for terrorist status?

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Ok but then you catch the people who actually did it, not the grannies protesting separately who happen to be lumped together by the state.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Are you once again conflating showing support for Palestine with showing support for the organisation Palestine Action? The first is legal, the second is not.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

Hey, you raise a great point about it being illegal! We should definitely remember that the holocaust was legal and opposing the Nazis was illegal too!

Legality is not a fucking moral standard, you wet hand towel. We are fighting out and out fascism. Grow the fuck up and get with the program, please.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Sure, but it is ridiculous to claim Palestine Action is a terrorist org.

3 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

Definitely over the top, but it is an organisation that has physically attacked the English military for political gain. It does fit the technical bill.

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 10

The fact that property damage is included in the definition of terrorism makes nonviolent direct action against genocide impossible. This is why people say the right of protest is dead. Any remaining protest that is legal the gov can ignore. Anything beyond that and you are labelled a terrorist and imprisoned. Even if you haven't hurt another human.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

the problem whit that statement is that then any org is a terrorist org. becuase any org have had at least one memember in its history scuffled whit the military at one point in history. it would be like saying the UN peace keeping force are all Terrorist after one memmber one night decided to blow up a house killing 5 peaple becuase they where blasting music a bit to loud. Did we? no offcourse not becuase we know that just becuase your a member of a org does not mean mean you are the org itself

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Did you miss the part about me agreeing that designating them as a terrorist organisation was wrong? What even is this drunken ramble.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They caused millions in damage after breaking into a military installation...

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 9

Good

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

All of which is covered by other laws, no one is saying those actions were not illegal they were however not terrorism.

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

So, are you suggesting that this was not intended to influence government policy for a political position, or not serious damage to property?

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Defacing property isn't violence, and terrorism by definition requires violent action. Equating the two is port of how fascism takes root.

3 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

Honestly, that's a croc of shit. UK isn't America and doesn't have the first amendment, and took action against a very specific org that, need I state once again, caused millions in damages to UK military equipment.

They literally reduced the UKs ability to respond to situations and protect the nation by taking planes out of commission.

If they said ANY reference to Palestine was off limits, I'd be more on your side. Or if they just spray painted a few business or smt.
